Niantic held it’s first ever Pokémon GO post-launch panel at SDCC today, and with it came some slightly new information as well as the reveal of the 3 teams leaders. Candela represents Team Valor, house of Legendary Moltres. Blanche is host to Team Mystic, house of the Legendary Articuno. And finally, Spark is the energetic (and under appreciated) leader of Team Instinct, house of the Legendary Zapdos.
A few new pieces of info and a Q&A was held during the panel, and it was nice to finally hear some communication from Niantic. Some highlights of the panel include:
- Breeding has been discussed and is being considered.
- Trading is definitely coming, trying to work out server issues first.
- They are aware of the 3 step bug and are working on a fix.
- Eeveelution name easter egg has been confirmed by Niantic, possibly other easter eggs yet to be discovered.
- Move sets impact a Pokémon’s evolved move sets.
- They see and treat the game as an MMO, with constant updates moving forward
- Looking at ways to add future gens over the coming months/years.
- Legendary Birds may have something to do with the team that you chose.
- “Stealing gyms” after someone else defeated it is a known issue, will most likely be addressed.
- Future updates to gyms and Pokéstops are being considered, such as different modifiers for lures. The idea of a personal practice gym was also brought up.
