“One of the things the arena shooter has potential in is esports,” says Rectify gaming’s very own Tyler Neignberg when playing Splitgate back during PAX East 2019. “Seeing the game being played on a casual level at the convention I could very well see high-tense competitive games happen on a big stage one day.” So it was inevitable the Halo competitor to break its ties to PC and hop over to console later on.
Back in June last month, developer 1047 Games announced that the game will officially be coming to Xbox & PlayStation in late July. To prepare the team for adopting more platforms, the game studio prepared a beta for players to test the waters for the game. However, the number of available users was exceeded and now the game is being pushed to next month.
According to the developer on Twitter, it organized a $10 million fund to stabilize its servers for the game’s console release. Additionally, beta for the game is being prolonged until an official date for the game is prepared for August.

“Our team has been blown away by the incredible reception the Splitgate community has shown us,” Ian Proulx, 1047 Games CEO told in a statement via IGN. “With the steep and sudden increase in players trying to access servers, we’re having to sort out a myriad of technical issues that come with this level of insane growth. We’ve worked hard to provide a high-quality game and experience, and our biggest challenge is simply to have enough capacity to serve the entire community.”
