Seeing that the 2001 hack and slash along with the following two sequels have been remastered for modern platforms, there is a heavy implication that Capcom could release Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3 after this. But unlike the trilogy HD collection, the remaining two will be sold separately assuming that they release in the coming future.
On top of the franchise’s debut on Nintendo’s latest console, fans have also jumped on this as an opportunity for Dante to finally be featured as an added character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. DLC roster. Former Capcom developer Hideki Kamiya even poked at the conversation of which character from Capcom should be introduced to the brawler’s expansive cast of characters last year.
Seeing that Dante was added to PlayStation All-Stars back on PlayStation 3, this does leave the opportunity for the protagonist to potentially be added: but ultimately this is purely speculation with no real tangible evidence suggesting Dante’s entry into Smash Ultimate.
Devil May Cry is currently out for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC
