Players Demand The FULL Story: Destiny – The Taken King
Game informer recently released a video interview with The Taken King’s creative director Luke Smith and executive producer Mark Noseworthy. In the interview the guys share exactly where they see Destiny is going in The Taken King expansion coming this fall. The main theme of the interview seemed to be that of story. Story that has been missing in-game since the first release of Destiny back in Q4 of 2014. The team is well aware of what players feel they are lacking when playing this ground breaking FPS meets MMOP (shared world shooter). It’s been very clear to gamers that the Destiny that was pitched to them leading up to the launch of the game was in fact not how it was actually package and sold. Now is as good a time as ever to change all that was missed. The leading bots voice, the story (that was there but hidden away in cards stashed away on a Bungie server), it’s all getting an overhaul. Well.. the Grimoire Cards will still be around, but Luke says we will be getting more hints and details about the story by way of scannable items strewn about the planets. Find a mound of bones, or maybe a strange looking worm? Scan it for a quick story about what it is you’re seeing. Quest Are The Best! Players have been asking for a more simplified form of Destiny gameplay. Where before after starting up for a night of gaming you might have visited the bounty bot and picked up some things to do, now you can visit different vendors for your quest. The Vanguard and faction reps have all been confirmed to have separate workable story missions that a guardian can seek out for unexpected loot and treasure. These side missions are being called Quest Lines. Each to have several doable parts that ask different things to complete the mission. Quest lines operate allot like exotic weapon bounties and how each have a separate line requiring the player to complete each step before gaining the ultimate reward. Who’s Talking? Characters speaking to you in game will now show up in the upper right hand corner of the screen to better assist the player in understand just who is speaking at the time. Small additions like these are important to helping understand just who is speaking. At times the voices in your head can become plenty so adding a little something like this can actually mean allot. Elder Scrolls is still a “Very long time” away
Elder Scrolls Onlne released last year on PC and just this past Summer on both Xbox One and PS4. Also in the works at Bethesda is some game you may have heard of called Fallout 4. At Gamescom, VP of Marketing Pete Hines spoke with Dualshockers and stated that as a result of both of these games that Elder Scrolls VI isn’t going to come for a “very long time”. According to HInes, everyone at the studio is working on Fallout 4 as we speak and that they are 100% in on it to make sure the game releases on time. Although this may disappointing, it does make total sense. If you remember at E3, Fallout 4 is going to have a vast number of customization options for weapons as well as the ability to completely change the landmarks, buildings and game environments to essentially make your own game within a game. All these options are relatively new and will surely require more programming and testing then normal. With such an iconic franchise such as Fallout, it’s understandable that Bethesday is prioritizing it over any new titles. As far as guessing on Elder Scrolls VI, who knows? It’s been about five years already and we currently have Bethesday working on ESO and DLC for that as well as completing development and DLC for Fallout 4. As great as a followup to Skyrim would be, let’s focus on the brilliance that Bethesda is putting out now and enjoy those. Good things come to those who wait. I mean, hey, Fallout 4 is finally coming, right?

Need for Speed converts social media to in game currency
We saw some new footage and information from EA at this year’s Gamescom including news on how the in game, live action sequences will tie into the story and a contest to build your own Need for Speed car. We will be able to choose from five different race styles with each one tied to a separate racer. The more we race and tune our skills respective to each style, different video scenes will appear throughout the game that will impact our progress. We’ve also known for a while that this Need for Speed will require a constant internet connection, which wasn’t really a surprise considering Need for Speed Rivals required the same. The reasons given by EA at the time were ambiguous in a “wait and see” type of way. Well, today, we found out exactly why. In the latest issue of OXM, Executive Producer Marcus Nilsson explained how the game’s new photo sharing system will translate to in game currency. It’s an automatic system that will take pictures of certain in game moments and send them out to the Need for Speed Network. He stated that “We also have a new snapshot system as well,” adds Nilsson. “Which is taking pictures of a lot of different moments – [they go] out to the Need for Speed network where people can ‘like’ them, and those likes are being pushed back into the game as currency. So you get progression from sharing your photos. The Xbox One has really good built-in systems to make videos and stream them, which we are also going to use.” This is definitely intriguing and new ground to take up by Ghost Games, but care will need to be taken to ensure players can’t bot their way to likes in order to increase their in game currency. Need for Speed releases on Xbox One this November
