Overwatch could be coming to consoles

Last year Blizzard announced Overwatch for PC ever since the gaming world have been assuming it will be coming to consoles as well. Looks like we just got that answer thanks to Gamestop, they’re taking pre-orders on the hero shooter for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The price looks to be $60 as most console games are, but Overwatch seems to be a free to play game. It’s worth noting that Blizzard also sells the free-to-play PC game Heroes of the Storm in a $20 physical bundle, which comes with heroes and skins. So GameStop taking pre-orders for Overwatch doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not free-to-play. Blizzard planned to make an announcement at BlizCon in LA tomorrow so we will see if we hear anything then. Rainbow Six Siege – Post Launch Maps, Operators & Modes

Rainbow Six Siege will be actively supported with regular gameplay balancing, tweaks, improvements to features, and detailed patch notes. Additionally, a dedicated team of about 80 people will continually listen to fan feedback, monitor gameplay statistics and ensure that the experience is the best it can be. Rainbow Six Siege recently went gold and was delayed from the fall to December 1st, and it looks like the game will be good to go at launch. Over the course of the coming year, Rainbow Six Siege will be receiving four major content expansions that are divided into seasons. Each expansion adds one new map and two new operators, each with a new unique gadget and new primary and secondary weapons. New game modes, cosmetic items and in-game events will also be released during the year. While all maps and modes will be immediately available to all players, the new operators and weapon skins will need to be unlocked with Renown, which is earned while you play, or purchased with R6 Credits. Nearly everything you do in Rainbow Six Siege will net you Renown, including winning or losing matches, kills, assists, reviving teammates, playing ranked matches, watching tutorials or completing Daily Challenges. R6 Credits are an optional premium currency that will be available at launch in packs of 600, 1200, 2670, 4920 or 7560. A pack of 600 R6 Credits will cost $4.99 USD. The 20 operators included at launch can be unlocked relatively quickly with Renown – the first one you unlock in each counter-terrorist unit costs 500 Renown, the second is 1,000, and so on. Operators added after launch will be available for 25,000 Renown each, reflective of around 25 hours of gameplay. Daily Challenges are optional goals that can net players extra Renown. These might include, for example, eliminating a certain number of opponents in a single match, performing a set number of headshots, or winning a number of matches or rounds. Weapon skins will be split up into tiers. Tier 1 skins can only be unlocked with Renown, while Tiers 2 and 3 can be unlocked with either Renown or R6 Credits

EA and Ghost Games aren’t charging for Need for Speed DLC

Yes, you read that correctly. EA does NOT want to charge for DLC for its current Need for Speed reboot. For a company that has literally made its living off of charging customers for extra content, EA is breaking from the mold here with Need for Speed. In a recent interview with Vice, Craig Sullivan the Creative Director stated that “Honestly, hand on heart, there are absolutely no plans to charge for content in this game. We’re going to give you everything for free. I’ve seen the plans for what’s going to happen over the next few weeks and months – there’s nothing in there. The plan is that there are no transactions in this game. All of the content that we’re going to give you – a pretty substantial amount in the future, starting pretty soon – is going to be free. That’s what players deserve.” We’ll have to wait to see if this really comes true as it is EA after all, but hey, at least it’s good to see that the initial round of roll out DLC will be free for Need for Speed. We mentioned on the air during Tuesday’s show that this reboot got a grade of “must play” for us as it brings home the true feel of what an arcade racer should be. What do you guys think?

Companion app available now for Fallout 4

Hey Pip Boy holders, be sure to head over to your respective app store as the Fallout 4 companion app is now available for free on both IoS and Android. Now, unless you are getting the Pip Boy edition the app itself is pretty useless. The only features are available are an inventory check, map display and some holotape games. Now, although you can have the map up the entire time on your phone or tablet while you play the game, do you really know anyone who actually does that? It’s a cool idea and by all means I get the concept but impractical unless you own the Pip Boy Edition itself. Those who do, you’ll need the app on your phone in order to use the Pip Boy edition unless you’ll be stuck with a $60 piece of plastic. Be sure to download it now from either of the below links Android IoS
