Homefront: The Revolution will have at least a year's worth of DLC
Dambuster Studios, developer of Homefront: The Revolution said it plans to support the upcoming first-person shooter with free content for “at least a year” after launch. This is what game designer, Fasahat Salim had to say about how they will use micro-transactions: “It’s absolutely not a pay-to-win system because everything we’re providing in these resistance crates is available for free in the game through normal play,” he said. “All we’re offering is, for those players that don’t necessarily have the time to invest in the game, to unlock those cool things. It’s basically just a time saver for them; a shortcut to unlocking these things. “They pay a little bit of money but they’re not getting anything that’s exclusive to them.” “We’re not doing any sort of packs. We’re not making map packs or anything like that. As we’re done with a mission, we’re going to release it, the community can go ahead and play it, and we’re going to keep doing that for at least a year after release.” They will also introduce new missions for free, opting to eschew the traditional season pass and map pack model used in many other modern shooters. Homefront: The Revolution is set for launch on May 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Linux, and Mac in North America, and May 20 for all other regions.
Bungie wants to know why you hate Destiny
Oh, so NOW they care? I’m guessing “because it sucks” is too easy an answer. Bungie has been sending emails to anyone that hasn’t logged into Destiny within the past 30 days. The email basically asks why they haven’t been playing and if they are going to come back and play any time soon in the future. If you are logging in, you also get emails asking you to rate Destiny on scale of 1 to 5. At this point, Destiny is pretty much treading water with the delay of Destiny 2 and no new content coming anytime soon. The game has been a boatload of issues since it first launched a year and a half ago after delays, minimal story and other problems. The most recent content is the Valentine’s day crucible doubles, which follows the sparrow racing event. This was only available for a limited time and had users asking why with so little content on the horizon. No matter what they do at this point, Bungie and Activision have a lonnnnnnnnnng road ahead of them in order to win players back with their “ten year plan”
