Some tips for Flame in the Flood and how to forage supplies
With the release for The Flame in the Flood coming up next week on Xbox One and PC, developer Molasses Flood has provided yet another trailer on how to survive along the game’s river. The official description for the game reads as a rogue-lite river journey through the backwaters of a forgotten, post-societal America. Forage, craft, outwit predators and brave the rapids as you make your way down the procedurally generated river. It’s a basic description but doesn’t do the game justice until you see just how impressive the game looks. The river changes each time you play to ensure no play through is ever the same. You’ll need to avoid certain enemies as you go, and what makes it difficult is some of the things you do to avoid certain enemies simply end up attracting other enemies. It’s a good blend of strategy that allows your protagonist and companion Aesop along the river. The trailer released today provides some hints on how to best gather supplies and food when the game launches next week. Take a look below and stay tuned for our review upon launch.

Nintendo Account Registration Now Live
Nintendo has just announced that registration for their new multi-platform account system is live. Nintendo Accounts can be registered for using a Nintendo Network ID, Facebook, Google+, or Twitter account. While signing up for an account is relatively simple, the account is not particularly useful as of this point. In March, Nintendo plans for the account to be compatible with the upcoming rewards program, My Nintendo, alongside its first smart device social app, Miitomo, for which pre-registration is now live at http://miitomo.com/en. Nintendo’s first cross-platform accounts are free, and breaking into the realm dominated by XBOX Live and PlayStation Plus is sure to be a solid move for the future of the company. Consoles Lead the Way in Record-Breaking 2015
It should surprise no one that video games are in an increasingly good spot financially, as the market seems to only be growing more and more each year. In 2012, Worldwide revenue for total video game sales (Including handheld, mobile, PC and Console games) was just over $77 Billion (US) according to statista.com. In 2013, that number is estimated to have jumped to over $93 Billion, then to over $102 Billion in 2014. In 2015 video games are estimated to have made over $115 Billion. Those staggering numbers mean great things for investors and consumers alike. More money is being pushed into the game market, and that means that more developers are getting more money for more games. Not only is the funding there like never before, this also pushes competition between older, “established” companies, and newer developers working to break out into the gaming spotlight. This is especially true of console games. In 2015, console games accounted for $55.05 Billion of total sales. That’s almost half of the overall gaming industry’s income. Its no coincidence that this revenue came on the coattails of massively anticipated titles like Fallout 4, Halo 5, Destiny: The Taken King, and Star Wars: Battlefront. Major titles bring major sales. With long-awaited games such as Mass Effect: Andromeda, Uncharted 4, Doom, The Last of the Guardians, and Dark Souls III coming in 2016, this year looks to be another record-breaking year for console games.
