A new fan-made calendar was shown off but will only be available at future events and will be downloadable later this year. Hironobu Sakaguchi, yes the person who made Final Fantasy made an appearance on stage, saying how Final Fantasy XV “rediscovered Its true nature” and how the development of the game will bring the same challenges and emotions that the first game had brought to players. There were a total of 15 announcements said at the event. Some were about the game and some were not. Like a R8 model car that is featured in the game will be made in the real world, but only 1 will be made. A new trailer was featured alongside with small snip-bits of many features of the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUEiEMW4C4A Believe It or not that was not the biggest part(s) of the event. Now prepare yourselves, your about to be blown away….an anime, movie, mobile game, and demo will be released this year before the actual game comes out. Lets discuss these new developments a little further. Brotherhood The anime is called Brotherhood, It’s a free 5 part series that explains the origin stories of the 4 main characters. Noctis, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladio. The first episode Is now available online on Youtube. Before the anime was announced we got a taste of the descriptions of these 4 characters. Noctis, if you didn’t know is the main protagonist, the prince who is trying to retake the kingdom Lucis. Ingis seems the “smart guy” of the group and knows what to do in emergencies. Gladio is the “tough guy” of the group, who acts like the bodyguard of the quad-group. And Prompto is just a regular guy, but is more of the jokester of the “bros”. Kingsglaive Kingsglaive Is a full CG movie about what life Is In the kingdom Lucis while Noctis and his friends are away on their adventure. The actors (2 out of 3) who actually came to the event talked about their characters In the movie. Who are these actors? will no other than Lina Heady (plays Luna), Sean Bean (King Regis, Noctis’ dad), and Aaron Paul who plays the main protagonist Nyx. Here Is some backstory. “The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the hallowed Crystal, but the menacing empire of Niflheim will stop at nothing to make it theirs. War has raged between the two for as long as most can remember. King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers dubbed the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, Nyx Ulric and his fellow glaives stand before the crown city of Insomnia, fighting to stay the inexorable advance of Niflheim’s imperial army. Before the overwhelming military might of the empire, King Regis can only salvage his kingdom by accepting an ultimatum—he must cede all lands outside the crown city, and see his son, Prince Noctis, wed to Lady Lunafreya, the former princess of Tenebrae now captive of Niflheim. As the war of wills rages, the machinations of Niflheim transform Insomnia into an awe-inspiring battleground, pulling Nyx into a struggle for the very survival of the kingdom.” Platinum Demo As the title suggests, Platinum Demo Is the new demo that came out tonight for Final Fantasy XV. Its available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 now. This demo however will not be part of the main game at all. Its about Noctis as a kid having dreams. In these dreams you can kill enemies with a toy hammer, turn into different animals, and have a small companion with you the entire game. If you do beat the demo the companion will be available as a DLC character. Justice Monsters Five Justice Monsters Five Is a mini-game in Final Fantasy XV, but now Is coming out as a mobile game for IOS, Android, and Windows. It features as a arcade game, a different version of pinball If you will. It looks as If you have to defeat monsters and bosses using different types of characters. Rumor: Final Fantasy XV will release on September 30
Its not official, but we will know the release date for the new Finale Fantasy instalment tonight on the Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event. A new demo for the game will also appear, of course with new information about the game itself. According to a now-private YouTube video by GameSpot, they have said that the game will release on September 30. Image provided by Gameinformer This seems believable as the game has been said to be almost finished and it just needs some “tweaks”. The event itself will be online on Youtube.com and Twitch, on 10:30 EST, but a preview show will start before that about an hour early.
Bungie “New Things to Earn” Stream Recap
The second Bungie reveal stream leading up to the April Update debuted today, and there was pl enty for new players to be excited about. Dubbed the “New Things to Earn” reveal, the twitch stream focused on the new gear upgrades and cosmetic items, as well as the different ways that Guardians can attain that armor. Bungie announced several major changes to the game that should help players in the grind to max light level, as well as allowing a unprecedented amount of customization in the game. One of the biggest changes is a major change in the controversial Infusion system for progression. In the Taken King update up to this point, players could take lower level gear and, if they had a piece of gear that was a higher level that they didn’t like as much as the old piece, could infuse it into their lower level gear to bring it a portion of the way toward the power of the new weapon. However, this didn’t level the gear all the way up, so a player had to sacrifice a few light levels to keep their favorite gear. With this update, gear will now infuse to the full level of the higher-level gear, making leveling up much less of a grind. Another change that affects the level progression is the plethora of places in which players can attain max light-level gear. Where previously the only way to reach max light level was by Raiding and going flawless in the Trails of Osiris, players can now get max-level gear not only from King’s Fall (After a hot fix), Iron Banner, and Trials of Osiris, but also from Exotic Engrams, Court of Oryx, Challenge of Elders, and the Strike Unique gear can also drop at max level. As far as new gear goes, the stream revealed all-new sets of faction gear, as well the new Desolute line, which is taken-themed gear, as well as the Spectar line, which was created with the newest customization innovation in Destiny, the Chroma system, in mind. The Chroma system is an upgrade node on weapons and armor that allow players to customize their gear with a glow, separate from shaders, in one of four colors: White, Blue, Red, and Yellow. Each piece of gear is separately customizable with Chroma, so this allows for many different combinations of colors and shaders. The Desolute and Spectar lines of armor are obtainable only from a new consumable called the Sterling Treasure, which can be obtained in four ways. Players will receive one free Sterling Treasure from the post office per week, and another will drop when guardians complete one match in the weekly crucible playlist. They will also drop upon a weekly completion of the level 41 Prison of Elder’s completion, and they are also available for purchase from Eververse. The gear dropping from these consumables only drop at 3 light, so purchasing the packs do not allow players to “pay to progress.” Sterling Treasures can also drop new ships, sparrows, shaders, as well as faction rep boosts and Chroma materials. Additional customization was show from Eververse in a new selection of emotes, including Club Dance, Instructional Dance, Do It, Kicks Dance, Praise the Gun, Amazed, Sumo, Bye-Bye, Praise the Light, I Don’t Know, Crane Kick, and Rude Taunt. The stream also featured a new taken sword, a new taken ship, a new taken ghost from the Challenge of Elders, new sparrows, and also revealed that the update will bring back some old year-1 weapons back to the new endgame. Additionally, the stream showed a new feature that allows players to turn off the HUD interface, allowing for a more cinematic experience, at the cost of functionality. Immediately following the stream, Bungie released a series of Instagram posts showing some of the new year one exotics that will be brought forward with this update, including all of the Prison of Elders exotics, Patience and Time, Universal Remote, The Arachnid, Purifier Robes, Eternal Warrior, Sunbreakers, Glasshouse, Kepri’s Sting, ACD/0 Feedback Fences, and more. Next week’s stream will cover the Crucible, sandbox updates, as well as other quality of life changes coming in the update. The April Update will drop April 12, at no charge to players who have Destiny: The Taken King.
Microsoft Build 2016 conference details the future of gaming
The Microsoft Build 2016 conference started today, and some rather interesting information was revealed for the future of Xbox One, Windows 10 and the Universal Windows Platform. Opening with some impressive statistics, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 has been used by over 270 million people since it launched last Summer. An Anniversary update will be released this Summer and incorporate a number of new features for both Xbox One and PC. First, a biometric authentication will be included by default on Microsoft Edge. it will become the only browser to use this feature and be available on both PC and Xbox One. When trying to log on to browse the web, it will ask for fingerprint ID like some current cell phones in order to grant access. The PC used as an example on stage had a fingerprint scanner built into it, but they did not elaborate on how it would be included with other PC’s or Xbox One, which will also use the feature. Microsoft Ink is a new feature that will take advantage of why so many people primarily use pen and paper; Speed. It’s just much faster to write something down on paper than it is to open app, type something with your phone or computer, save the document, etc. What Ink aims to capture is the speed of the pen and paper brought to PC. The pen will constantly be connected to your PC. Clicking the top of it like you would a standard pen brings up the app on your PC. This functions similar to how turning on your Xbox One controller turns on your console as well. There was no lag on display and everything shows up on screen as it was typed in the demonstration. The apps, like Sticky Notes, will all be Smart apps as well. So, by typing in a note like “Call mom tomorrow”, Cortana recognizes that “tomorrow” is a date and saves it in your calendar. Phil Spencer himself was also on stage discussing the future of the gaming platform, and it was reported that “All games will launch on Xbox One and Windows 10”. That’s as clear as you can get in saying that there is no longer any Xbox One exclusivity and that games will now all be released on both platforms. So, Halo 6 fans, get ready! This is sure to drum up some exciting conversation, but we’ll have to wait and see as more information comes out on how Microsoft exactly plans to move forward with this program. We reached out to Microsoft to clarify and will let you know what we hear. This Summer, Cortana will be making her way to Xbox One as Microsoft is releasing the Windows 10 Anniversary update. Phil stated that she will be fully integrated into the new UI for Xbox One with the update, and will help with tips & tricks, schedules, playing background music, launching games and more. Unfortunately, he didn’t elaborate much more, as he indicated they will be revealing more information this June at E3 in Los Angeles. Hololens developers will begin receiving their dev kits very shortly, as they have begun being shipped out today. Touted as the “first and only untethered holographics computer”, Hololens still has no release date for consumers yet. With the dev kits being distributed beginning today, we can expect it to be released in 2017 as a current year release would be cutting development time short. On a platform that is so new and innovative like Hololens, developers will be needing extra time in order to filter out bugs. The retail price point has not been discussed, but the dev kit is several thousand dollars. Retail prices are always lower and we’ll update you as we hear more. Available today, every Xbox One can be turned into a dev kit. Simply by downloading an app from the Xbox store on console, you will be able to switch modes at will. Tired of programming a game or app? No problem, simply switch the mode back to retail and continue on your way. The console does require a restart upon initially downloading the app, but that is the only time. Spencer reported that it was their goal to make every single Xbox One a dev kit in order to reach the developer in all of us. All of the assets will be available to anyone who downloads the app, which is free and available now in the Xbox Store on Xbox One. The conference went on to discuss other new additions like medical schools using hololens to teach classes, changes to developer coding to allow easier access and more. No other gaming information was released, but as Phil stated we will hear more in June at E3. What do you think about the gaming portion of Microsoft Build? What about the Xbox One exclusivity? Let us know below.

Titanfall 2 Development Team is Nearly 30% Larger than That of Titanfall
According to Respawn Entertainment’s HR and recruiting manager Kristin Christopher, Titanfall 2 has over 90 people working on the project, compared to the 70 who worked on the original game. While this may seem like a fairly large increase from one game to another, it is worth noting that Titanfall 2 is set to release for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4, whereas the first game did not release on the Sony console at all. The game is also anticipated to have a main campaign mode, unlike the the first game in the series, which only featured a multiplayer game mode. These two facts show where the extra team members are probably being utilized. Respawn Entertainment is not only working on finishing up production of Titanfall 2 for this fall, but is also working on a mysterious second game for an unannounced IP, being headed by God of War III director Stig Asmussen. Titanfall 2 will undoubtedly see a major announcement at E3, and is expected to release this fall.
Kickstarter Watch 3/30/16
Each week, Rectify Gaming looks through the indie games in development on Kickstarter and brings you the best looking, most promising, and most interesting of the bunch. Here’s what we like this week: Mable & The Wood Developed by: Andrew Stewart Mable & The Wood is a 2D action/exploration game set in a land where the overuse of magic is draining the world of its color. You play the part of a shape-shifting girl who can take the form of the beasts that she slays, but whose power is slowly destroying the world she is trying to save. Explore the world to find the source of the darkness before the forest dies. Will you banish the darkness from the world, or will you become it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWNiFoKDilk Why it’s worth a look: One of the goals of Mable & The Wood is to create a world that is directly affected by the player’s actions. As you use magic, the world is drained of its life. Going too far could have dire consequences. The 2D world looks simultaneously inviting and foreboding, and the various powers and abilities that are currently in the game look intriguing and fun to play with. Funding Status: Raised $1,454 of its $9,894 goal from 103 backers, with 29 days to go. Release Date: February 2017 Links: Kickstarter, Steam Greenlight, Official Website
Mass Effect: Andromeda's latest survey hints at new information.
Thanks to a NeoGAF post, a user had taken a picture of these few survey questions for Mass Effect Andromeda. Some of this is suggested so some of it may not be true. Here is what some of it says: “Mass Effect: Andromeda takes players to the Andromeda galaxy, far beyond the Milky Way, where players will lead the fight for a new home in hostile territory – where WE are the aliens – opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us.” “Experience the freedom to traverse and explore a planet-dense but seamless open-world galaxy, rich with discovery. Play as the leader of a squad of military-trained explorers in an intense third-person shooter, with deep progression and customization systems.” “This is the story of humanity’s next chapter, and player choices throughout the game will ultimately determine our survival in the Andromeda Galaxy.” Here are the survey questions in picture form:
