The Uncharted series has sold more than 28 million

Shawn Layden, the president of Sony made a couple statements to Fox Business. According to Layden, the Uncharted series has sold more than 28 million copies. And with the new release of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, it is expected that 7-10 million more copies will be sold. Uncharted also got a score of 94 on Metacritic, which is the highest all year for any game. The console exclusive is one of the main games making big sales for the PS4 which is something that Layden says is a big factor for why gamers buy which console. “We believe that fans—longtime and new—find high quality exclusives to be a key factor in choosing the console they play on.” It is clear that Uncharted 4 is one of the most popular, and successful game on the PlayStation4. The Uncharted series have always been a fan favorite but sadly this is the last instalment in the series. Are you playing Uncharted 4? And if so how are you liking it? Source

Memories of Reach Live-stream Recap

Today, there has been a lot to discuss from what was showcased from the Memories of Reach Live-stream such as a sneak peak of a new arena map, updates, game-types, forge, and more. Arena Map Right off the bat, we’ve got an early taste of what to expect from the new arena map Stasis, which took inspiration from Halo 3’s Amplified, and has been in development two years ago.  During development, the map originally had no snow, but was added sinces the current arena maps in Halo 5 did not have any snow. Stasis From what has been mentioned in the live-stream, the spawning areas will be located in both the bottom and middle areas of the map, and it will also provide new weapons such as the Brute Plasma Rifle, which can easily depletes an opponent’s shields as fast as a Storm Rifle, but will require more shots to eliminate him/her.  Also, the map will also have hidden easter eggs for the player to find themselves. Brute Plasma Rifle in Action   Sandbox Update Along with the expansion, there will also be a Sandbox Update that will fix the current bugs hindering the campaign, and balancing issues including a boost for the Hydra, which can be viewed here.  Along with the fix, we will also be getting new REQ items such as new weapon skins, armor based on Noble Team, the Phaeton Helios, and George’s Chaingun turret. Spartan wielding George’s Chaingun turret   Phaeton Helios From what was mentioned from the two new REQ items that will be available in the update, George’s Chaingun Turret is a legendary mythic weapon that will grant damage boost for the player while at the same time increases his/her speed.  Also, the Phaeton Helios will have a chain mounted beam attached to it, and will require lots of team work to bring it down. Following this, there will be new weapon skins based on both Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris from Halo 5, Noble Team from Halo: Reach, Azure dream, and a weapon skin for Halo Wars 2.  Also, there will be a new weapon attachment for Warzone, that will be optimized to identify a target with a “threat marker.” Infection After getting up to speed on those updates coming, we also got a look on Infection (which will be getting its own playlist) in action on the Maligant, which is different version of Rift with the addition of objects and more.  In this version of Infection, the Alpha Zombies (the starting Zombies of every round of the game) will appear invisible while the standard zombies infected by them won’t.  Instead of using just swords, the Zombies can also use other weapons, which can only happen in custom games. Players with biological symbol represent the Infected Community Update After the showcase of what to expect from Infection, there was an announcement of a new book Halo Library Edition which includes gallery and behind-the-scenes-extras along with issues #1-#3 of Halo: Initiation and Halo: Escalations #1-#12, which is now available for purchase for $44.99 here. Cover art for Halo Library Edition In the meantime, it was also announced that Grifball will be sticking around for a few weeks, but it doesn’t mean it will go away forever as mentioned in the livestream. Forge From the update on Forge, we got a glimpse of new items such as ammo crates used specifically for infected gametypes, new features such as changing colors on objects, new lends flares, corpses of humans and Covenant, and adding new layers of objects such as making them aesthetically making them appear like concrete, wood, etc. Crates Corpses Plasma Killball New Object Layers (1) New Object Layers (2) New Object Layers (3) In closing, we also had a special guest named Olive the Pig make a special guest appearance before the end of the livestream, and it ended with a sneak peak of what to expect from the Hog Wild Update.   The Memories of Reach Update is set to release tomorrow along with Warzone Firefight and Infection.

New Halo 5 Hog Wild Update teaser trailer has been released

On the Halo stream for the next Halo 5 update Memories of Reach, a new teaser trailer for the next update was shown. It was only 20 seconds long but showed what seems to be a new Rocket Warthog, along with a new armor set. It was pretty vague but at least Halo fans got a glimpse of what’s in store.

Xbox Phil Spencer says that working with Nintendo has been "great"

Since the announcement of a new Mario-themed DLC coming to the Wii U on May 17, people have been getting excited for these 2 franchises to mix. Xbox head Phil Spencer also replied to a fan about the news and said that the partnership between them is going great. @YTMaxi Partnership with Nintendo on this has been great, nice to see Minecraft doing so well on the Wii U and to get the Mario content. — Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) May 10, 2016 Minecraft is owned by Microsoft as well as the developer Mojang. Since Microsoft owning the Xbox console, it is satisfying that Microsoft would do this partnership on another platform. Of course the PS4/PS3 both do get regular updates and DLC, but it is most likely that the Mario DLC will only be on Wii U. Just like how the Halo DLC is only available on the Xbox consoles. It is safe to say that Microsoft and Nintendo will make further deals and partnerships for 3rd part games, but in what way? And will this partnership lead to more gaming opportunities to gamers? We will have to see.

Microsoft denied selling Fable, closed Lionhead Studios instead.

So more details have been getting out lately about Lionhead Studios and their recent shut down. Kotaku UK heard from multiple sources that there were potential buyers for the company. They didn’t specify the big potential buyers but they were some of the biggest names in video game publishing. Another source closer to Xbox claimed that Microsoft wouldn’t sell the Fable IP along with the studio. The offers were in the range of hundreds of millions. If any of the companies were to buy the companies they would have to make new Fable games under a licensing agreement with Microsoft. If Microsoft would have let go of the IP we may not be talking about this but they want to keep it secure in case anything pops up which could get interesting. Source What are your thoughts?

Neverwinter and its future content to be revealed live during Twitch stream

Perfect World and Cryptic Studios have announced that they will be revealing the next lineup of content for Neverwinter during a special Twitch stream on June 1st. Neverwinter has grown to around two million players on Xbox One alone at last count, not including those who play on PC. Since it launched last March on Xbox, the game has seen nine expansions with The Maze Engine being the most recently released on May 3rd. Players have fought along side Drizz’t Do’Urden in the Forgotten Realms as well as the five headed dragon herself, Tiamat. The live stream will take place at Meltdown Comics in L.A. on June 1st at 7PM Eastern time on the official Twitch channel for D&D. There are many options that Cryptic can take to Neverwinter. The first thing that comes to mind is a level cap increase. The last increase saw a rise from 60 to 70, but a rise to 80 may be met with some resentment. The amount of XP it took to get to 70 was drastically high and a cap of 80 would require nearly a month of grinding out XP. Other things can be introducing story lines from other aspects of D&D. The addition of Drizz’t Do’urden opened up the door for story lines like Dragon Lance and other Wizards of the Coast products. Personally, I’m hoping for Dragon Lance as I’d love to see the implementation of Raistlin Majere and the Dragon Orb into Neverwinter’s story arc. With no other information to go on, what do you want to see for the future of Neverwinter?

TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan bio cards reveal new in game abilities

Activision has released bio cards for all four of the turtles in TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan. They reveal some background information as well as new abilities that the turtles possess. For example, Donatello will be able to utilize a teleportation attack when teamed up with one of his brothers. Each turtle has their own, individual team-up attack that can be implemented with any of the other turtles. Leonardo will use a whirlwind attack that sends his katana blades into a spinning frenzy. Rapheal makes use of a shellshock attack, but perhaps the most interesting one to see will be Michelangelo’s attack. The “party dude” will break into a disco dance that hypnotizes his enemies to the point where they start dancing as well. This makes the enemies drop their defense and opens up the other turtles for attack. TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan will release on May 24th in North America and May 27th in the UK. It will utilize the same cel shaded technology that Transformers Devastation used, making it seem as if you are playing an actual TV cartoon episode. From what we’ve seen so far the game looks extremely promising, especially with a lot of its open world exploration. Stay tuned for release and we’ll have our review up as soon as possible.

As raw recruit Ethan Brady, you are plunged into a desperate struggle for freedom as the Resistance try to save the one man who can inspire the people to rise up – Benjamin Walker, the ‘Voice of Freedom’ himself. What lengths will the Resistance go to to achieve their goals… and will the end ever justify the means? Weaving state of the art performance capture into a 30 hour open world single -player campaign, Homefront’s dark and brutal story telling will leave you reeling. Homefront: The Revolution will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on May 17th 2016

Perfect World Entertainment agrees to publishing agreement for Gigantic

Perfect World Entertainment Inc., announced plans to publish Gigantic – the free-to-play, action MOBA developed by Motiga Games. This partnership with Perfect World Entertainment expands the game’s reach, allowing support for players with Win64 operating systems via the Arc Games platform and a standalone launcher. This is in addition to the previously announced Windows 10 and Xbox One versions of the game. Gigantic, developed by Motiga, will join the growing lineup of games including Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, PWI and more as Perfect World Entertainment continues to introduce quality free-to-play titles to the PC and console markets. “2016 continues to be a year of growth for Perfect World Entertainment,” said Bryan Huang, CEO of Perfect World Entertainment. “As we expand our line-up of partnered developers, we always want to ensure that our team is publishing quality content for gamers. The passion that the Motiga team has makes them a perfect partner for PWE as we accomplish our goal of bringing quality products to the industry.” “Our team is thrilled to work with Perfect World Entertainment who shares our vision for our game. This partnership will enable us to focus on creating the best experience possible.” said Chris Chung, CEO of Motiga. “Motiga has always thrived off of the excitement of our players, and the continued success that Perfect World Entertainment has had in the free-to-play space has solidified our desire to partner with them for our upcoming launch.” Gigantic is a free-to-play action MOBA developed by Motiga that pits teams of five heroes and their massive guardians against each other in highly intense battles across a variety of maps. The game combines explosive combat with fast-paced teamwork, strategy, and skill, as players fight to defeat the opposing guardian with spells, guns, and swords. Back in February, the studio halted development of the game altogether as it announced massive layoffs while it sought more funding. This agreement will hopefully find those impacted back on their jobs. Motiga noted at the time that “Though we are in active and promising discussions with a number of potential investors, the timing for those negotiations extends beyond the resources we have to maintain the staffing required to continue development on Gigantic. Our goal at this time is to work aggressively to identify the resources we need to rehire the members of the Motiga family that were laid off today, securing our financial future so that the Gigantic community can continue to work with us to develop this title, and ultimately bring the complete Gigantic experience to the marketplace.” There is obviously no release information currently but we will keep you updated as soon as we can. What are your thoughts on Gigantic re-emerging? Let us know
