Nintendo Switch launch date, pricing, and more to be revealed on January 12.
Nintendo have released a tweet saying to stay tuned for January 12th as they will have a presentation on the Nintendo Switch. According to Gematsu, we should obviously expect the pricing, launch date, games lineup and possibly more. The event will be for invited media, financial analysts, and trade partners in Tokyo and will be live streamed worldwide. They will have these events in the U.S. and Europe after the presentation at later dates. Nintendo will be bringing the Nintendo Switch to public events around the same time so they can get a feel of how the fans feel about it. New Surface Book update announced with many improvements
The ‘Ultimate laptop’ just became even more…ultimate. Today, Microsoft announced a new Surface Book update that brings much improved battery life, graphics, and general performance. Here are the main factoids: 2 times the graphics performance of Surface Book (3 times the Macbook Pro 13″) Battery life of 16 hours, about a 30% increase new thermal management system It was thought to use the new Kaby Lake processors from Intel but instead they have stayed with Skylake for this update. Pre-orders are being taken for release and will cost a whopping $2399. The original Surface Book was never designed to be a gaming machine, however this update means it is now far more capable of playing some of the latest games on reasonable settings. Beam live streaming service getting Windows 10 and Xbox One integration
Today in New York, Microsoft announced that Beam, the live streaming service that the company purchased recently, will be getting fully integrated into Xbox One and Windows 10. Beam is an innovative live streaming platform for gaming and more. It offers low latency streams for much better interaction with viewers and also throws interactivity into the mix, allowing viewers to actually control the game play and more.
Sony announces Pro controllers for PlayStation
With Microsoft having a pro controller in the Xbox Elite Controller and Nintendo with the upcoming Switch Pro Controller, Sony have revealed 2 licensed pro controllers for PS4. The 2 new pro controllers are the Razer Raiju and the Nacon Revolution. Sony announces November's PS Plus games
Sony have revealed the PS Plus games for the month of November. There will be 2 games for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita for free, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and DiRT 3 are just a few from that list. Dolby Atmos Support Coming to Xbox One S
This morning, Microsoft’s Live Blog announced that support for Dolby Atmos will be coming to the Xbox One S for 4K Blu-rays. Adding high quality sound to high quality video is sure to drive Microsoft’s profits even further than they’ve reached this year. Many fans are already tweeting that this is a deal breaker for them. Gamer created tournaments in Arena are coming to Xbox Live in 2017
At E3 2016 Microsoft had announced that they will be bringing in a new featured called Arena, where Xbox gamers can create tournaments for their community whether it’s on Forza, Halo, Gears of War, and more. At today’s Microsoft Event they announced that fans can create tournaments on Windows 10 or on Xbox One, you can set the time, date, style, and game mode for your Arena Tournament. You will be able to do all of this in 2017. Here is a photo of how it will look like on Windows 10: Another thing that was noticed at the briefing was when they were talking about tournaments they showed a “spotlight section” of popular tournaments and a Halo Wars 2 Championship was spotted. We do not know if that is made by a user or something 343 has planned for the future. With Arena mode coming to both Xbox and PlayStation I think it will help a lot.
Investors Unhappy With Nintendo Switch
The Wall Street Journal reports that Nintendo investors are not happy with the announcement of the Nintendo Switch. Since the announcement of the Switch, Nintendo’s stock has dropped nearly ten percent. Sources say that investors feel Nintendo is too focused on consoles and it is not paying off. Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Reportedly Missing Headphone Jack
