More third-party publishers interested in the Nintendo Switch after trailer was released
One big shocker that came from the Nintendo Switch reveal was the number of third party publishers they had lined up. Since when did you hear Nintendo, Activision, EA, Bethesda in the same sentence? According to Nintendo’s latest FY report, additional third-party publishers have interest in the Nintendo Switch. “Happy additional third-party publishers showed interest in Switch after our introduction video last week” You can view the report here.
Gears of War 4 getting 2 new multiplayer maps November 1st
The first set of new maps for Gears of War 4 is coming November 1st for season pass holders. It will include two maps as part of the program of releasing two new maps every month for a year. Everyone who is not a pass holder will need to wait until November 8th to pick up the new maps. The first map is called Checkout. Revisit the iconic supermarket in Cole’s hometown of Hanover 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3 in this Legacy Map. Much like the rest of Sera, nature is reclaiming whatever it can following the Locust Wars, but that hasn’t slowed the fast, furious and frenetic combat that takes place between the checkout lanes and the electronics department. Transported from a COG ship building facility to a ship breaking scrapyard on a Seran mudflat, this fan favorite returns with a vengeance to Gears of War 4 Versus Multiplayer and Horde modes. In addition to the release of these fan favorite maps, tune into Xbox Wire on November 1 for a sneak peek at the Run the Jewels “Air Drop” featuring playable Killer Mike and EL-P characters for Versus Multiplayer and Horde. Pass holders will only be able to play the new maps in Versus Dodgeball and Arms Race mode with up to three players in that first week of testing before they open to everyone. Nintendo will increase production of Switch hardware if demand is shown at events
Recently, Nintendo had announced that they will be having a presentation on January 12th in Tokyo, Japan for the Nintendo Switch. The company also said after that conference they will be bringing the console to media events and public events in the U.S. and Europe, because they want to see what the consumers think of this new hybrid console and they would like to hear the prices they want it to be so it is easier for Nintendo to make a fair price. Nintendo plans on shipping out 2 million units of the Nintendo Switch which is 1 million less than the Wii U. The company would like to avoid making that mistake again and they’d want to make sure they can sell these units fast. If they see pre-orders going up and the demand they may consider pushing more out then as seen in this tweet below: Nintendo: can increase production of Switch from current 2 million plan this FY if demand shown strong at events. https://t.co/gPC8OO5MaV — Takashi Mochizuki (@6d6f636869) October 28, 2016
Skyrim Remaster Has More Mods On Xbox One Than PS4
Despite the fact it was just released today, Skyrim Remastered already has quite a few mods on console! But if you’re playing on PlayStation 4, your options are quite limited. Currently there are 118 mods for the Xbox One, and only 38 on the PlayStation 4. This is due to the fact that Sony only recently started supporting console mods, whereas Microsoft has been on board for awhile now. Sony also only allows mods that are simple tweaks to pieces and aspects of the game that already exist, while Microsoft allows user-created custom mods, leading to much more content. Another downside to mods on the PS4 is that it only allows you to install 1GB in mods, and the Xbox One 5GB. For a list of all the mods available on console, click here for Xbox One and here for PlayStation 4!
Nintedo Switch May Have 720P Screen
Nintendo has never been the epitome of high end technology, but what they lack in tech they have always made up for with ingenuity, and the Switch is no exception. According to sources that predicted many other features of Nintendo’s newest handheld console, the Switch’s screen will only be 720P. Considering many of the phones we currently have in our pockets right now are 1080P, it may sound sub-par. Add to this the fact that it will not support external hard drives, and many people are jumping off the hype train. But this is a concept that has never been done before, and that is what Nintendo is all about! And if the boom of indie games has taught us anything, it’s that it isn’t the tech that makes for great entertainment, but the content of the games. It may not sport 4K, but this little console promises an experience we have never had before, one that many gamers have dreamed about for years! Leaks like these are sure to continue to trickle out into the web, but Nintendo will be holding global presentaton January 12th, 2017, which you can watch here!
