Capcom will support Street Fighter 5 up until at least 2020
Capcom’s Street Fighter 5 didn’t have the best launched they hoped for, but over the last few months the games content has improved with better netcode, more content (like a proper campaign) and new fighters. Executive producer Yoshinori Ono, says that Capcom is not done yet there are plans to support the release “as far as 2020 or so” and said it is not just a 1 or 2 year thing. They also commented on a possible non-Street Fighter title “I’d be happy if we could. But first, we’d have to solidify Street Fighter 5 as an eSports title. I said in the beginning that we’ve seen a higher number of entrants than we had in the Street Fighter 4 era, but we’d like to heighten that even further.” “The more people participate, the bigger tournaments we can host, and the more people are going to watch them, which is directly connected with our sales, and that’s going to decide the future.” Source
