Video: Unboxing the Final Fantasy XV Ultimate Collector's Edition

After more than a decade of waiting Final Fantasy XV has finally graced us with its presence, and oh how glorious it is! I will be doing a Review in Progress as I slowly make my way through the Broventures of Noctis and Pals (the clear subtitle for the game), but in the meantime I wanted to give everyone a look at the rare-ish Ultimate Collector’s Edition. I somehow managed to get my hands on one of the 30,000 that were produced, so we all get to share in the excitement together as I open it up to squeal at all of the goodies inside. Did you pick up Final Fantasy XV? Were you one of the lucky few who snagged an Ultimate Collector’s Edition? Let us know your thoughts on the game (and the goodies) in the comments below.

Sling TV App For Xbox One Gets Performance Update

The Sling TV app on Xbox One got an update recently, and according to a thread on Reddit, while no obvious changes were made, the long buffering times have been greatly reduced. Many users are reporting that they are no longer experiencing any buffer times, and those that are find them few and far between. The developers of the app have also indicated that another, bigger update is on the way, improving the user interface and further improvements to functionality. They are also working on bringing the app to Windows mobile.

Final Fantasy XV Suffers Frame-Pacing Issues On PS4 And PS4 Pro

Digital Foundry has run a scene for scene comparison of frame-rate test on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, and the results may (or may not) surprise you. When compared side by side, the PS4 actually performed better than the Pro as far as frame-pacing went, but both ran in to problems. The PS4 Pro can be run in High or Lite graphics mode. The tests in the above video show that while the Pro’s High mode aimed for 30fps, it was not hitting its target. The Lite mode, which only goes up to 1080p, was displaying the same problems, but less often. What this means is the image will not look smooth, even if the frame-rate is working like it is supposed to. Due to these issues, the PS4 managed to out perform the Pro’s High mode. What will this mean for the PS4 and PS4 Pro sales? Is the system not living up to the hype? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

One Xbox One was sold every 15 seconds during Cyber Monday.

According to eBay data provided to Polygon, one Xbox console was sold every 15 seconds on their website compared to PS4 which sold every 30 seconds, and 2 minutes for NES Classic. As for Black Friday, Xbox One didn’t do as good as Cyber Monday selling one console every minute, PS4 with 30 seconds and NES Classic every 2 minutes. eBay DataLabs’ estimates between Nov. 15 and Nov. 22 20,000 new Xbox One consoles were sold and 13,000 used consoles. Over the same period 15,000 new and 12,000 used PS4’s were sold and 20,000 new NES Classic consoles. eBay’s General Manager of Deals has spoken to Polygon saying “Over the Cyber Weekend, eBay was the destination for some of the best deals and selection for video games, consoles, and accessories, (…) Beyond seeing hot inventory like the NES Classic Edition and the PlayStation 4 Slim continue to trend, on Black Friday our Xbox Live 12 Month Gold Membership deal sold every six seconds and a Sony Dual Shock 4 Wireless Controller was among our top five selling electronics.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcEKYqRqx_Y Source: Business Wire; MSPOWERUSER

The Crew – Calling All Units DLC

The second expansion to Ubisoft’s most recent racing title The Crew is now available and brings new content and gameplay for the entire US. All Units Calling gives the player to play as either the police to chase and arrest the street racers. Or as the street racer by picking up and deliver illegal packages while on the chase by the police. For the police being a new edition to the game, they are given a variety of cars to adapt to the environment with different specs like Perf, Circuit, Street , Raid and Monster Truck. While the street racers are given the cars they already have to use against the police to escape them. There are two types of chases for the police and street racer: when the street racer picks up a package to deliver and when the street racer destroys object in the world. For the police to make a arrest, they must stay in a 30 meter radius of the street racer for 7 seconds or the timer will reset. New prologue missions will be available to the player to learn the new chase mechanics with a new character, Clara Washington with the objective to stop a new street racer gang known as the harvesters. And the player will be given an increase of the level cap to 60. Both the police and the street racers are given a certain set of abilities to use against one another during the chase. Street Racer Abilities: Flashbang – this ability blinds the cop players and AI in range, and removes their UI elements for few seconds. Unlimitro – gives unlimited nitro to the caster and his support players in range. Guardian – This ability is a protective one, once launched, it will cleanse all the abilities sent by Cops for few seconds. EMP Shock – the EMP Shock applies a single shock to the target and makes the opponent’s car lose control and grip for a few seconds. Back on target for support players – if a support Street Racer (i.e, non-crate holder) is too far away from the crate holder, he has the possibility to use the back on target ability to reduce the distance.   Police Abilities: Speed Hack – This ability breaks the acceleration of any Street Racer in a range of 150 meters. EMP Field – The EMP Field can deactivate the brakes of any Street Racer in a range of 150 meters. Jammer – When used, this ability deactivates all UI items (BreadCrumb, Radar, crew widget, 3D tags etc …) of the target in range. EMP Shock – the EMP Shock makes every opponent in range lose control of their vehicle. Back on target – if the players are too far away from their target, they have the possibility to use the back on target ability to reduce the distance.   And a new selection of cars have been added as well with the release of Calling All Units. Jeep Wrangler Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé Lamborghini Aventador Ford F-150 Lamborghini Gallardo Abarth 500 BMW S1000R Koenigsegg Agera R Hummer H1 Pagani Huayra Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Kawasaki GPZ 900R Ninja 1984 Kawasaki KX450F Indian Chief Dark Horse Ducati Hypermotard KTM 1190 RC8 R, RC8 R Track Mercedes AMG GT, GT3 Maserati MC12, MC12 Corsa The Crew Calling All Units is available now on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.

Pokemon Sun and Moon become the fastest selling Nintendo titles in the Americas

The month of November has been a great month for Nintendo believe it or not withe the NES mini selling well, the launch of Pokemon Sun and Moon have created history for the franchise, and they had some good 3DS sales. Nintendo released a press statement announcing that they sold 3.7 Million copies in under 2 weeks in the Americas which has made history as the fastest selling games in Nintendo history. Let’s keep in mind that these titles are only on the Nintendo 3DS so that is a bit mind blowing. The game has sold over 7.2 million units worldwide and it’s close to the fastest selling game in history. After becoming the most pre-ordered video games in Nintendo history, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon – the latest games in the wildly popular Pokémon franchise – have now become the fastest-selling games that Nintendo has ever launched in the Americas. In less than two weeks, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems sold a combined total of 3.7 million units. That’s an 85 percent increase over PokémonX and PokémonY – the previous record holders for Nintendo’s fastest-selling games – during the same period when those games launched in 2013.   “With these huge sales figures, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon have proved themselves as two of the hottest video games to buy this holiday season,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With great reviews and outstanding fan response, these next iterations in the Pokémon series are sure to please any player in the family.” All Pokémon-related software has sold more than 280 million units* worldwide since launching with the Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Blue Version games in 1996. The Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Blue Versiongames are both available for download in Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. Other notable launches in the Pokémon series include Pokémon X and Pokémon Y (15.64 million games sold globally life-to-date), Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire(13.18 million games sold globally life-to-date). In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Trainers-in-the-making head to the game’s new Alola Region – a series of tropical islands – to catch, battle and trade Pokémon. By discovering new Z-Moves, Pokémon can unleash powerful attacks in battle. The new Poké Ride feature allows certain Pokémon to help people get to places they wouldn’t be able to reach by using human strength alone. In addition to three new partner Pokémon, players can catch a host of new Pokémon, as well as the unique regional variants of some familiar favorites. It’s also being rumored that Pokemon Sun and Moon will have a third title launch for the Nintendo Switch called “Star”. We don’t know much information, but stay tuned!
