Switch sees biggest 2-day sales for any Nintendo system in North America
The Nintendo Switch has launched and it has done well in the UK selling double the amount of the Wii U in its first weekend and now it looks like the Switch has made history in North America for Nintendo. In a recent interview with New York Times with Reggie Fils-Aime the President of Nintendo America confirms, Fri-Sat sales for Nintendo Switch exceeded first 2-day sales in Americas for any system in Nintendo history. Next biggest was Wii, Zelda for Nintendo Switch the best selling standalone launch title (i.e. not a bundled game a la Wii Sports) in Nintendo history beating Super Mario 64. https://twitter.com/nickwingfield/status/838874407594414083 With it only being March and the Nintendo Switch beating the Nintendo Wii in its first 2 days is big given the Wii was launched during the Holiday season where now they can promote the Switch months in advance and put out the big games everyone wants during the Holidays which means more sales. We don’t have exact numbers of total sales, but we can tell it is a good sign for Nintendo and it’s pretty clear they are not dead.

Xbox's Phil Spencer would love to partner with Remedy Enterteinment for future games
In a recent interview on IGN’s Unlocked podcast, Xbox head Phil Spencer spoke on Xbox and Microsoft Studios’ partnership with Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment for their joint effort Quantum Break which launched in early 2016 on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. The game was one of the first to test partial implementation of the current Xbox Play Anywhere cross-device progress sync, as well as a large departure for both studio teams in the style of game produced. In Spencer’s interview, he reveals that Xbox “don’t have a deal with Remedy.” But he continued, saying that “when you start working with a studio … and once you’ve figured out how to work together, I think Playground is a good example of this, you get into a rhythm” with Playground being Playground Games, a co-developer along with Microsoft’s Turn 10 Studios, on the popular open-world Forza Horizon series. Spencer’s remarks are great to hear, as studios working together regularly brings great, new, and unique games to market such as Quantum Break. Sadly, Quantum Break faced various performance issues and had an online requirement to download and play the live-action video scene sections of the game and didn’t see success like Forza Horizon has. While Spencer doesn’t make specific mention of any future efforts with Remedy, he remarks “I’d love to work with Remedy again.” Since we have yet to hear any rumblings of a sequel to Remedy’s acclaimed Alan Wake title, we don’t know what kind of effort to expect from the team in the future, but we’ll keep you updated on anything we hear. Until then, be sure to stay tuned to Rectify Gaming for the latest. Source: IGN Unlocked Via: We Write Things
Surprise, Tekken 7 won't have all-platform cross-play
Many months ago when Xbox One players were expectantly waiting for Rocket League to launch, we heard that the game would not support cross-play between Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Sadly, the reason ended up being Sony’s restriction on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live being able to link. Sony’s restriction came up recently with the developers of Tekken 7 and cross-play questions. it's NOT my heart & our issue. It's 1st Party issue & platform security policy issue. Remember, SFV & KI is Exclusive PS4 or X1 @Jenny_Cage — Katsuhiro Harada (@Harada_TEKKEN) March 5, 2017 On Twitter, Tekken’s Game Director and Chief Producer Katsuhiro Harada was asked if the team will “have a change of heart and make Tekken 7 cross-platform compatible with PC.” Harada responded, saying “It’s NOT my heart & our issue. It’s 1st party issue & security policy issue.” Harada followed up, briefly explaining that Sony’s cross-platform capabilities with PC are facilitated through a peer-to-peer, or P2P, connection method for security reasons. These restrictions are not quite how Xbox Live works, and Harada notes that they “[c]an’t split PC” versions of the game to be Xbox Live-compatible as well as PlayStation Network-compatible because of that security policy. ICXM notes that the security policy is oddly named, as “Microsoft’s servers are more secure than Sony’s” and “that’s a joke” of a reason to bar true multi-platform online multiplayer. Via: ICXM

Mass Effect: Andromeda EA Access trial limited to one planet only
With Xbox One and PC players anxious to get their hands on Mass Effect: Andromeda a few days early, some were left wondering exactly what restrictions, if any, would be implemented during the 10 hour early access. One of the game’s producer’s took to Twitter in a impromptu Q&A session, and answered some fans questions. Multiplayer will have no limits according to Fernando Melo, with all players having access to every mode and character contained therein. The restrictions are present in the single player, with access limited to one planet as well as having a progression gate blocking your access past a certain point. Mass Effect: Andromeda releases on March 21st, 2017, with EA Access and PC Origin players allowed to play beginning on the 16th for a max of ten hours. You can see the remarks below, and let us know what you think about the restrictions. yes, you'll be able to play sp story up to a pt on one of the planets but free to keep exploring that plt — Fernando Melo (@DiscoBabaloo) March 5, 2017 no, for MP only restriction is the 10hr time limit on the build itself — Fernando Melo (@DiscoBabaloo) March 5, 2017 you can play it all in sp if you want, but it is gated (you can't cont story after a point, but can explore or restart for ex) — Fernando Melo (@DiscoBabaloo) March 5, 2017

Release date: March 7th, 2017 Developer/Publisher : Ubisoft Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands is Ubisoft’s new approach to the franchise, featuring an open world and non-linear approach to the stealth based shooter. Outlast 2 is launching this April
Horror fans rejoice as developer Red Barrels has finally announced the release date for Outlast 2 on Xbox One. Everyone better stock up on underwear, as the notoriously freaky, horror title will land on Xbox One beginning on April 25th. The first one saw a reporter investigating an “abandoned” psychiatric facility that ended up being full of sorts of horrors that we’d rather forget. And by forget, I mean talk a lot about in order to prepare us for Outlast 2 which will surely be scarier. You should expect our review closer to launch, and be ready for some pretty scary video footage as well. Welcome to Temple Gate. Outlast 2 will be available digitally on PC, XBOX One and Playstation 4 on April 25th. pic.twitter.com/EFzYowzhay — Red Barrels (@TheRedBarrels) March 6, 2017
