"Full Length" #StarWarsBattlefront2 trailer this Saturday https://t.co/0rlJN2TZvM pic.twitter.com/6OfGUuCXzL — Battlefield News (@bravoINTEL) April 12, 2017 To nobody’s surprise, yes, Sony is marketing yet another Disney game. Star Wars: Battlefront II joins Star Wars: Battlefront, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5*, Kingdom Hearts 2.8*, Kingdom Hearts III, #SpiderManPS4*, Disney Infinite 3.0, and all Marvel and Star Wars EA/Square projects as Sony marketed games. A leaked 30ish second ad confirms Sony marketing and from what people on GAF said a prequel setting? (sorry I don’t know a thing about Star Wars) Here’s some blurry screenshots + the link to watch for you to watch in HD. (please note this video could be taken down) Battlefront II joins Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Red Dead Redemption 2, Destiny 2, and Call of Duty: World War II as Sony marketed fall titles. Assassin’s Creed is rumored to join the pack of marketed Sony games. *PS4 exclusive titles
Project Scorpio has a trick up its HDMI port: FreeSync
After the reveal of Project Scorpio’s specifications last week, the Internet has been abuzz with true 4K talk and how the console will stack up against the PlayStation 4 Pro. One thing that Digital Foundry put off initially sharing what could end up being a major trump card when it launches this winter. For the past few iterations, both Microsoft and Sony have based their consoles around custom AMD chipset. And for almost as many years, AMD has been flying the flag its for variable refresh rate display technology called FreeSync. And while neither FreeSync and variable refresh rate (VRR) will likely mean much to traditional console gamers, it could mean a lot in the future. If you game on a PC with dedicated graphics from either AMD or NVIDIA, you’ll likely have heard of G-Sync and FreeSync before. Both accomplish the same goal, but are exclusive to each manufacturer’s chips and sync-branded displays. The goal of VRR technologies is to have the monitor’s Hz refresh rate directly match the frames-per-second that the graphics card can output to it, thus preventing scene tearing and “dead” frames on-screen when a graphics card hasn’t rendered a new scene. Project Scorpio’s HDMI-out port supports the HDMI 2.1 standard, meaning to will be able to output 4K at 60Hz, and that same HDMI port is also FreeSync-enabled, meaning VRR, with compatible displays, from a console. The most important part of this inclusion by Microsoft is that, while Sony’s PlayStation4 Pro doesn’t have FreeSync capabilities, their next hardware release might. And, extrapolating that to how consoles help drive TV and display technology for the living room, we could see gaming-centric displays meant for outside the traditional gamer’s den, at sized larger than what computer monitors typically are. Xbox’s Phil Spencer spoke to this in a tweet earlier today, noting exactly what I have above: VRR could and should come to TV. Have to work with TV companies to get support for VRR but the results of on gameplay feel great. We want VRR on TVs. — Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) April 11, 2017 The important part for now, though, is that if a Project Scorpio owner has a FreeSync display for their PC, they’ll be able to take advantage of that technology right out of the box. If more details come out on Project Scorpio, and for continued coverage on existing specs, be sure to stay tuned to Rectify Gaming.
Rumor: Call of Duty WWII poster shows November release, PlayStation DLC exclusivity
At the end of March there were some leaks of a steelbook for the next Call of Duty title by Sledgehammer games which is World War II. The name was confirmed by the company a few days after the leaks were going around the internet. That same week we had Destiny 2 leaks which were correct with the September 8th release and of course PlayStation 4 having exclusivity. Someone has posted a new image for Call of Duty: WWII and claims it to be a copy for printing. Whether or not the image is real is unclear – take it with a grain of salt. A heavy grain of salt. Here is the picture from Reddit: While this image looks like it has been taken with a potato we see that the title would launch on November 3rd, 2017. The game will be timed exclusive content for PlayStation owners (30 days early access to maps). The release date can be seen above the game’s title and the timed-exclusive PlayStation DLC details come from the icon in the right-hand corner of the image. This image could very likely be fake and likely be real so stay tuned for official announcements.
Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy release date announced!
Earlier this month, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog announced that they were bringing all the Jak & Daxter games (except Daxter) to #PS2PS4 later this year. Well, today Naughty Dog revealed that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be coming out on August 22nd, 2017. If you pre-order the game, you’ll get a code for Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and it is confirmed via not only the PlayStation Store but a newsletter that the game will be coming out on the same day as Uncharted. Pre-Order Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and get Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy along with a pre-order exclusive Dynamic theme for The Lost Legacy (which you can see here).

Microsoft plans to reveal further information about Scorpio before E3.
We reported almost two weeks ago (which was later confirmed) that Project Scorpio was getting more information last week. Digital Foundry did the honors sharing the final specifications for the upcoming ‘beefed up‘ Xbox One. Tomorrow, Gamasutra will have an in-depth breakdown of Scorpio from a game developer standpoint at 9 AM EST / 1 PM GMT. The portents ring true: We'll have an in-depth breakdown of Project Scorpio (from a #gamedev perspective) this Wednesday! pic.twitter.com/leU7Za4vUf — Game Developer (@gamedevdotcom) April 10, 2017 Our source says there’s a slight chance of a dedicated event to fully reveal Scorpio prior to E3. They also said it’s more likely we will get information the same way we found out about the hardware – through gaming outlets. Design, name and the price could all be revealed before E3 giving Microsoft the majority of stage time at E3 to discuss new IPs, new games and possibly new partnerships. For now, this is all we could get from our source, but be sure to stick with us for future Project Scorpio news.
Sega brings Bayonetta to PC with 4K support
The long wait is over for PC gamers, Bayonetta is arriving on Steam today with 4K support and advanced graphics options. Sega’s critically acclaimed action classic now looks better than ever before. In a bid to entice those who already own the game, Sega will also be giving buyers the Digital Deluxe Edition at no extra cost until April 25th. Bayonetta is a fast-paced and brilliantly bizarre hack-and-slash that sees players summoning demons from its heroine’s hair. Developed by Platinum Games, the project was concocted by Hideki Kamiya – the legendary director behind Devil May Cry and Resident Evil 2. Bayonetta’s bizarre mix of satisfying combat and completely unsubtle innuendo soon won it a devoted following, but unfortunately, the game failed to sell enough for Sega to fund the sequel. Source
This Dragon Quest XI Controller is… Interesting
So, we all know Japan is one very strange, yet interesting place. This confirms that once again. So this controller is 145mm width x 145mm depth x 124mm height, it WON’T be comfortable at all to hold. I’m still rather shocked this thing actually is real, it’s a completely different type of DualShock 4, if we can even call it that at this point… This’ll run you 9,980 yen and will release on July 29th along with the game. Dragon Quest XI will be hitting 3DS & PS4 (weird combo, I know) on July 29th, 2017 for Japan with a Switch version also on the way. As for NA and EU, we’ll have to wait for a date. (Source)
