Head of Xbox says company plans to increase investment in first-party games
This generation, Microsoft hasn’t been able to create a first-party title similar to what Halo, Gears, and Forza did in the past for the Xbox console. Scalebound was scheduled to arrive this year but unfortunately, it was canceled back in January 2017. Fable Legends is another example of a canceled game many people were anxious to get their hands-on. Since then, the community has been very vocal providing feedback to Xbox to produce more exclusive games. Speaking to Bloomberg, Phil talks about investing in first-party games by either acquiring new studios or building them from scratch. Furthermore, Phil also wants to invest more in developing in-house games from studios Xbox already owns. “We need to grow, and I look forward to doing that,” Head of Xbox said. “Our ability to go create content has to be one of our strengths. We haven’t always invested at the same level. We’ve gone through ups and downs in the investment.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVpSlqJDFZg In a similar news, we’re hours away from the world’s most powerful console – Xbox One X – launch. Call of Duty: WW2 sales are "Significantly higher than Infinite Warfare"
Sledgehammer’s second Call of Duty game came out three days, and as expected, it has sledged its way onto top 10 for most sold games in the UK. Chart-track* reports WWII sales are about 57% higher than Infinite Warfare and had 21% increase in revenue. Moreover, Assassins Creed Origins dropped to second place, FIFA 18 secures the third spot and Wolfenstein 2 falls to 6th place. Interestingly, Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 3 is still selling well holding the 9th spot after it launched a year ago. Pre-orders for Xbox One X sold out at major Japanese retailers
The Xbox One X finally releases in less than 24 hours in Japan and across the world. In order to get a better insight on the pre-order situation, the local website Game Watch inquired with pretty much all the major local retailers, including Yodobashi Camera, Bic Camera, Yamada Denki, Nojima and Joshin. All mentioned that the initial stock of the console is fully sold-out with pre-orders, and there are no plans to have in-store availability on day one. Only Yamada Denki and Bic Camera added the caveat that there could be some units sold in the stores if their pre-orders are canceled. Yamada Denki is also going to accept pre-orders for the next shipment, but the delivery date is still to be determined. This could mean a couple things: either the Xbox One X is fairly popular in Japan despite the fact that the standard Xbox One was basically ignored by local gamers, or the shipment numbers for the country were very limited. We’ll have a better understanding of the situation on Wednesday, November 15th, when Media Create will disclose the hardware sale figures for this week. Source
Blizzard Senior Designer says "Don't rule out Hearthstone on Switch"
It doesn’t take much to imagine a Blizzard title on the Nintendo Switch and especially Hearthstone. That large screen would be perfect for the game’s touch-based interface, and when playing in docked mode you could use the motion-sensing Joy-Con to control a mouse-like interface. What’s not to like? While it would appear that no one at Blizzard is currently working towards this awesome dream, Hearthstone senior game designer Peter Whalen feels it’s something that shouldn’t be discounted. Speaking at Blizzcon, he said: “I dunno, I don’t think anyone is working on it, but I wouldn’t rule it out either. Moving to tablets and phones was awesome. It made Hearthstone way more accessible for way, way more people, which is fantastic. If there are other consoles or platforms that are good for us then that’s absolutely something we’d explore in time.” We’ve gotten our hopes up from Blizzard before, but there is no question that they are thinking about putting their titles on the Switch since the console is hitting big milestones only about 8 months in. Looks like Nintendo has more merch coming.
Nintendo has filed for a trademark for Cappy. They plan to use the trademark for clothing, hats, toys, Christmas decorations and more. We’re talking about the original form of Cappy seen above in the featured picture, and not Cappy as Mario’s hat. Super Mario Odyssey has been out for over a week now and one thing people seem to like are the outfits for Mario. Odyssey offers a lot of options for clothes compared to other Mario games we’ve seen in the past. Would you buy Super Mario Odyssey Merch?
