Rumor: Splinter Cell To Be Announced This E3

The legacy of Tom Clancy lives on in 2018 with The Division 2 announced recently, and now possibly seeing a return of Sam Fisher in 2018 also. Recently discovered on Amazon Canada by fans of the franchise of a listing for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 2018. Said that it is owned by Ubisoft, but no listed platforms for the games. And no feature box art nor confirming that the game will be releasing this year despite the year in the title. As of yet, the link leading to the listing has been taken down and making it unable pull up the page. But the model number for the listing seems to help stir this rumor further with it as “E3TomClancy’sSplinterCell2018_PC”. Implying that the game will most likely be announce later this June at Ubisoft’s E3 Showcase. And putting more hope into this possibly being truth, the last Splinter Cell title, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, released and 2013 and prior to that was Splinter Cell: Conviction in 2010. That Means giving the teams over at Ubisoft a 5 year period to work on the next title. For an update on this news, stay with rectifygaming.com for more to come.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Listing Spotted

An Amazon listing for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered has appeared, with a release date of April 30th. As spotted by IGN Italia, listings for both Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game have been added to Amazon Italy, with prices of €19.99 (approximately $25 USD / £17 / $31 AUD). As with every early listing, this is most likely a placeholder. The listed release date would indicate an unusually small time between announcement and release – for comparison, the original Modern Warfare Remastered saw a six-month gap after being officially revealed. If this listing proves to be true, it would seem to indicate that this will be a standalone release, rather than a special edition bonus with a new Call of Duty installment. I still think that Modern Warfare 2 Remastered would launch in 2019 when Infinity Ward will be releasing their COD title as 2018 belongs to Treyarch’s Black Ops 4 and it’d be odd for a Treyarch title to launch with an IW Remaster. We’ll find out soon enough.

In less than 12 hours, Fortnite became the No. 1 iPhone app

Yesterday, Epic Games sent out its first waves of Fortnite on mobile invites for iOS users and it is already breaking records right away. In less than 12 hours Fortnite became the No. 1 iPhone app (not just game) in 13 countries according to Sensor Tower.  Epic Games still haven’t sent out the rest of the invites for iOS users so I’m sure the title will continue to grow and dominate the Apple Store. A total redesign of Star Wars BF2 progression system announced by EA

Today, EA have announced that the Star Wars Battlefront 2 Progression update, which includes a complete re-design of the in game progression system, will be rolling out next week on March 21st. With this update, progression is now linear. Star Cards, or any other item impacting gameplay, will only be earned through gameplay and will not be available for purchase. Instead, you’ll earn experience points for the classes, hero characters, and ships that you choose to play in multiplayer. If you earn enough experience points to gain a level for that unit, you’ll receive one Skill Point that can be used to unlock or upgrade the eligible Star Card you’d like to equip. You’ll keep everything you’ve already earned and unlocked. You will keep all of the Star Cards, heroes, weapons, or anything else you have already earned. What you have earned will still be available to use with this update regardless of how much or little progress you have already made. Crates no longer include Star Cards and cannot be purchased. Crates are earned by logging in daily, completing Milestones, and through timed challenges. Inside of these crates, you’ll find Credits or cosmetic items, such as emotes or victory poses, but nothing that impacts gameplay. Starting in April, you’ll be able to get appearances directly through in-game Credits or Crystals. The first new appearances are coming soon, meaning you’ll be able to grab new looks for your heroes and troopers directly by using either Credits (earned in-game) or Crystals (available to purchase in-game and through first-party stores). If you’ve ever dreamed of being a part of the Resistance as a Rodian, your chance is right around the corner. The Star Wars Battlefront II Progression Update releases on March 21, with more content rolling out in the following weeks.

Fortnite mobile invites are going out now

The first wave of invites for the mobile version of Epic Games’ Fortnite is going out to players who signed up to test the game. Players who have been selected should have an email from Epic inviting them to download the game from Apple’s App Store. Epic said that this is the “first round of invites for the Fortnite Invite Event on iOS.” The company said it will send out additional invites to players “in the coming days and weeks, so if you don’t get one right away, don’t worry.” Players can still register for an invite at the Fortnite website. Fortnite on iOS is a 2 GB download and requires an invite from Epic (or a friend) to play. Epic says the iOS version “is in an early state and we look forward to your feedback as we iterate and improve.” The mobile version is compatible with Fortnite version 3.3, which today introduced Supply Llamas and the new remote explosive weapon. Here’s a look at the game’s touchscreen controls, if you’re curious about how Fortnite is playable on an iPhone: The iOS version requires iOS 11 running on an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices or later, according to the App Store listing.
