Below could come to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch

As most of us know, highly anticipated indie title, Below is coming to Xbox One and Steam sometime this year. In case you don’t know, Below is an action roguelike developed by Capybara Games, known for games like Critter Crunch and Super Time Force. It was indefinitely delayed after the studio decided to spend more time polishing the game. According to an interview with GodIsaGeek.com, Below’s director, Kris Pitriowski suggested it won’t be console exclusive to the Xbox One when asked about which platforms we could see Below on next and if there are plans for a physical edition of the game. “As far as the physical release, I’m not sure about that. I’d love to release a game that comes in a little box. We’ve been talking to some distributors about doing some special editions, but that’s just something we’ve been thinking about, none of that’s been finalised. Ideally it comes out in a way that isn’t just digital, I like putting together little custom boxes and stuff like that! Like things that players can hold onto, and help them be fans,” he said before hinting of the possibility of Below coming to the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. “When it comes to other platforms, right now we’re just announcing Xbox and Steam. Beyond that, I can’t say, right now.” So from the sounds of it Below will be a timed console exclusive on Xbox One.

Microsoft wants to build a high quality and diverse first party lineup

Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer has taken to Twitter to comment on a recent tweet from IGN’s Ryan McCaffrey regarding  Microsoft’s first party lineup. Following the positive reviews of Sony’s God of War last week, McCaffrey tweeted that Xbox players are eagerly waiting for a similar “masterpiece-level exclusive” on their console, but that it will take time before Microsoft will be able to deliver first-party titles like Sony is doing at the moment. Xbox fans are DYING to celebrate a masterpiece-level exclusive like God of War. Thing is, though, it took Sony 10 years to get to this point where their 1st party is firing on all cylinders. This work started in PS3 era. Xbox can/might get there but it's going to take a long time — Ryan McCaffrey (@DMC_Ryan) April 13, 2018 Phil Spencer acknowledged this, but also shared his confidence in Microsoft bringing more 1P on board. “Our hardware took time, our service/platform/BC took time and continuing to grow our 1P will take time”, the head of Xbox commented. “A high quality and diverse 1P (yes, with SP) built the right way is our goal and what our customers deserve.  We can have similar results to what we’ve seen in hw and platform.” This E3 for Xbox will be an important one when it comes to first party titles. We all know that there will be plenty 3rd parties at their conference.
