CoolerMaster MH751 Headset – Review

In a land of endless headset possibilities, a well-established and highly regarded computer peripheral company hits the mark with their launch of the new MH751 headset. Ever since our visit to PAX West a few months back, Rectify has been longing for more hardware reviews; enter Cooler Master. Rectify was impressed with the initial prototypes we saw at PAX, and reached out to Cooler Master to review their upcoming headset, the MH751. When we look at the headset landscape, you’re cluttered with everything under the sun; every manufacturer is creating their “best”, but when shopping for the headset, what should you realy be looking for? Let’s break it down. Here are the 4 main areas on how Jeff, our Rectify Director of Esports, looks and grades headsets, each with their own, 1-5 scale, with 5 being the best. Comfort. When spending countless hours with headsets on, headsets need to be comfortable. Audio Quality Let’s face it, we all want to hear the footsteps, the heavy booms of weapons, the high revving engines in racing simulators, or the lovely lobby music… we all know audio quality is a must. Build Quality Reliability. It’s a must in today’s world. Whether you’re new to the game, or an old dad gaming with kids, you want something that will last, over and over again; something you can put faith in. Price point Are they cheap? Are they expensive? Where does the headset fall in regards to its price? Are you getting all that you should? Now that we’ve established the basics, let’s look at Cooler Master’s MH751… 1 – MH751 – Comfort – Rating: 5/5 The MH751 hits comfort, dead-on. With the 751’s Swiveling ear cups, you’re give flexibility for all facial structures. Your ears are surprisingly breathable with the 751’s leatherette earcups which have the right amount of room for those wearing glasses, while not sweating after countless hours of gameplay. The adjustable headband is solid and firm, yet gives adequate sizing so it can fit any shaped head. Mixing the low weight with the super comfortable leatherette earcups, this is truly a long-session gamers headers. Having not only worn a plethora of headsets, but really loving trying them, the 751’s have been noted as one of the most comfortable headsets that I have ever worn. 2 – MH751 – Audio Quality – Rating: 4.5/5 The next big thing in terms of headsets, is audio quality. Being a big FPS player, I like a headset that delivers across all sound stages. I want a headset that delivers clean, crisp highs, with smooth mids, and efficient lows and bass that don’t drown out the mids and highs. The 40mm Neodymium drivers provide full, exceptionally clear sound at all proper listening levels, but when put to the stress test on higher, almost near max levels, audio quality did suffer just a bit. That being said, this headset will deliver all you need, at the proper listening levels, but if you plan on trying to blow your eardrums and drown out your sorrows with the latest screamo tunes, the MH751’s might not be the headset to look for. But what about the detachable microphone Jeff? Well, I’m glad you asked. Cooler Master pairs the MH751’s 40mm drivers with an omnidirectional, detachable microphone that is clear in all aspects of game chat, very comparable to those of other higher priced headset brands. Its easy to move and put in the proper place, while also being small, professional looking, and clear sounding while streaming to your favorite streaming platform. 3 – MH751 – Build Quality – Rating: 4.5/5 Let’s face it, we’ve all had that one time where we’ve broken our favorite headset. But how does the MH751 stand up against its competition? Well, quite well actually. The steel re-enforced plastic headband feels surprisingly durable with the MH751’s exceptionally low weight, coming in at only .55 of a pound! The ear cups fold in which is nice for leaving flat on my desk, or even nicer to fold up and throw in the included headset bag Cooler Master includes for easy travel. The braided cable seems durable, snag resistant, and provides adequate length at just under 5ft, or 1.5 meters. Let’s take the mic away, and this headset would even be great for that audio professional, as as the style is quite classy and professional as well. All in all, the MH751’s feel durable, comfortable, and with a 2-year warranty backed by Cooler Master, I feel confident that they will last for quite some time. 4 – MH751 – Price Point – Rating: 5/5 Ok, Cooler Master, you’re aggressive. Not just aggressive, you’re going to cause waves. Many manufacturers right now are coming out with their new gear in hopes of a heavy holiday sales period, where typically loved ones will buy gaming systems, upgrade pcs, or yes, receive other gaming peripherals, such as headsets, like these reviewed here. And when I say Cooler Master is aggressive, they’re stating their MSRP on these headphones will be only $79.99. You’re giving the general public, gaming enthusiast, and even office professionals or audio pros, an amazingly comfortable headset with clear audio, mic capabilities, and a 2-year warranty, for sub $80. So, let’s break down the price point. Is $80 a deal for these headphones? Yes. The only real competition in this price bracket will be from Logitech with their new “G-Pro” lineup, HyperX with the 3-4 headsets found between $69-100, and possibly, SteelSeries Arctis 3’s, or Razer’s Kraken Pro V2’s at around $75.99. Now, after listing all the obvious competition above, how does the MH751 stand up? In all of the categories above, it matches, beats, or EXCEEDs the list of headsets mentioned, with only one possibility being close in audio to that of the Hyper X Cloud Alpha’s, which many say are the gaming headset to buy right now. I’d like to change that, I believe, given what the consumers are looking for, that you will not find

Capcom did not specified if the Switch version will include the visual overhaul or be the same iteration that released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. What should be worth specifying is if the upcoming iteration for Nintendo’s platform will have exclusive controls for the Joy Cons which many games continue to take advantage of more recently. Though it isn’t needed, it is appreciated seeing the smaller things getting some attention when a game is ported to other consoles. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be available for Nintendo Switch on April 23, 2019.

Metro Exodus Getting Shipped With A Photo Mode At Launch

What seems to be rolling in as a comfortable norm with newer and more eye appealing titles, phot mode has become a well appreciated gift when exploring and creating scenes with a handful of settings and filters. Now the upcoming title Metro Exodus will be receiving the mode at launch this February. Metro Redux back in 2014 introduced the capabilities the game could hold with better visuals as well as finer details in both graphics and even performance: now that a photo mode is inbound for the third installment in the series, it’s exciting that we will be able to capture our journey through the story’s campaign now. If you haven’t played the redux or even seen the comparisons, it is breathtaking to see the differences, even for today’s standard when talking about a game that launched at the beginning of this generation. 4A Games announced today that the new photo mode alongside a tease for more story detail that will drop tomorrow. Regarding today’s reveal, studio Executive Producer Jon Boch that on top of the mode being highly requested, the Ukrainian developer made a work around to make photos less awkward for the strictly first-person title. They’re relatively rare in 1st person shooters, but the team have been determined to make it work and give Metro fans the opportunity to capture their own stories from the Russian wastelands. It was also shared with the new feature that PC users will get a bigger benefit using the in-game mechanic over their console counterparts. With “support for Ansel, NVIDIA’s proprietary screenshot capture software”, PC players will take grander images with the extra boost from the exclusive software. Metro Exodus is set to launch on February 15, 2019 for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Source: 4A Games
