Frontier Developments Reveal Planet Zoo For PC This Fall

Fans who have been patiently waiting for the next project from simulator studio Frontier Developments can finally breath as the developer has revealed their next title, Planet Zoo. Similar to their preceding titles, the player is given the tools to build and maintain their own line of animal exhibits for an upcoming zoo. From the announcement teaser, not much other detail has been revealed regarding what exactly makes this new game unique compared to previous Zoo Tycoon. Depicted from announcement on Frontier’s blog post, Chief Creative Officer Johnny Watts shares that the upcoming title will “carry on the great legacy of classics,” referring to titles prior to Planet Zoo. “We’re taking everything we’ve learned from our past work and focusing on modern values – incredible authenticity, rich management, limitless creativity and community sharing – to make our best-ever simulation game.” The post also shares that player freedom will play a big part in the creative process for how players will sculpt out their own menagerie: from creating respected scenery representing the animal’s home region to shifting the landscape of your zoo will all be available to your disposal. Currently, Planet Zoo is said to be coming to PC later this Fall. Ports for other platforms however have yet to be discussed nor discarded as of yet. Nintendo Has No Plans To Reveal New Switch Model This Coming E3

As we continue to witness the commercial success of the Nintendo Switch following the console debut over a year ago now, more is expected to come for the console/handheld hybrid platform. This implying that not only more games, but also other iterations of Nintendo’s latest platform which includes a more beefed up and slimmer version of the Switch, assuming the company will follow similar footsteps of both Microsoft’s and Sony’s latest consoles. According to the recent earnings call regarding the company’s annual fiscal year report, the company does not have any plans to reveal what Nintendo has planned next for the Switch. Though this does play against the recent rumors that emerged around the two mentioned Nintendo Switch variants releasing later this year, it does not completely rule out the alleged gossip. Stated from Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo “has no” plans to debut new hardware for the Switch at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo. “As a general rule, we’re always working on new hardware and we will announce it when we are able to sell it. But we have no plans to announce that at this year’s E3 in June.” Despite Nintendo not intending to use the upcoming event to announce the newest version of the Nintendo Switch, this certainly does not denounce that there are new hardware in development as we currently speak. But for when exactly Nintendo decides to reveal that is left undetermined. Seeing that Nintendo hasn’t used the platform at E3 to reveal hardware since the Wii U back in 2012, it’s left to look at either a Direct or livestreamed event in the coming future. Among the free content that will be coming with the update on April 30th, more content revolving around Nintendo’s Star Fox will also be arriving with the approaching content drop for those who own the Nintendo Switch version.
