EA Access Finally Arrives to PlayStation 4 This July
It has been heavily rumored for a while now and we knew it was coming eventually. Today, EA announced that they are bringing EA Access to the PlayStation 4 system. The service will arrive this July, players can sign-up for a monthly subscription of $4.99 a month or a yearly subscription of $29.99 through the PlayStation Store. With the addition of coming to the Sony’s console, this means EA offers its subscription services on more platforms than any other publisher as EA Access is on Xbox One and Origin as Origin Access. Here is what EA had to say about it: “As we continue to invest in digital and subscription services, bringing great games to even more players across more platforms is an exciting opportunity for everyone,” said Matt Bilbey, Executive VP of Strategic Growth. “Our goal is to give players more choice to try and play our games wherever and however they choose, and we’re happy to bring EA Access to PlayStation 4.” There wasn’t an exact date of when EA Access will drop on PlayStation 4 besides the fact it will be in July. Originally the service from Electronic Arts was offered to both Xbox and PlayStation, but Sony had turned it down when it was first pitched to them. Sony’s State of Play will be airing this week on May 9th and we could possibly see something about EA Access during the 10 minute presentation. Roughly Over 150 Riot Games Employees Walk Out In Protest Of Sexual Assault
For the past few weeks over at League of Legends developer Riot Games, discussion on the matter of sexual assault regarding the employees at the studio has been taken less seriously looking at how the higher ups of the company disregard workers attempting to sue the company by pushing policies forcing arbitration. Now today, more than 150 employees at the studio in Los Angeles in protest of Riot’s recent decision have walked out as planned from those at the developer have scheduled last week. Dozens of employees occupying the company parking lot protest the enforced policies with picket signs and performing speeches on the subject. Kotaku reporting at the protest interviewed Riot Games’ Jocely Monahan and spoke with her and what those who participate in the walk out are looking to achieve from the act. “We’re asking that forced arbitration be ended for all past, current, and future Riot employees, including contractors and in current litigation,” Monahan tells the outlet. “I want us to feel like our voices are heard and heard in a way that matters.” According to an email that Kotaku received earlier today, Riot Games does condone those who chose to participate in the walk out, stating that management should not intervene and be understanding towards the matter. Some of the signs employees displayed at the protest read “Silence one of us, you silence us all,” and “It shouldn’t take all this to do the right thing.” As this walk out is stamped to be one of the first major labor-related protests for a major developer, this could impact other studios that might be affected the same way as those at Riot Games. On top of the franchise’s debut on Nintendo’s latest console, fans have also jumped on this as an opportunity for Dante to finally be featured as an added character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Seeing that Dante was added to PlayStation All-Stars back on PlayStation 3, this does leave the opportunity for the protagonist to potentially be added: but ultimately this is purely speculation with no real tangible evidence suggesting Dante’s entry into Smash Ultimate. Devil May Cry is currently out for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC
