Take Control Of A Sugar Glider In AWAY: The Survival Series

The latest PlayStation State of Play show has brought some new titles to PlayStation 4 with the previously covered Predator: Hunting Grounds. This time, Canadian developer Breaking Walls introduces AWAY: The Survival Series by giving players the opportunity to play strictly as a sugar glider. Just basing off the title you play to survive from being a predator to some and prey to other living things that is in the shared world you explore. Based off the influence from nature documentaries, your main focus is to find your purpose in your ecosystem and overcome the predatory beings surrounding you while also overcoming natural disasters that can also consume you. Game Director Laurent Bernie explains to PlayStation Blog how AWAY will feel to the player and how the world around makes a great impact on their experience. “In order to feel truly immersed in nature, we set out to create a visually stunning world filled with colorful, vibrant environments. Given the Sugar Glider’s small size, we made sure every plant, leaf, and blade of grass was accounted for, and this attention to detail pays off when you navigate the wide variety of landscapes in Away.” Having prior history on working on the wildlife documentary Life and Planet Earth II, Breaking Walls have partnered with Mike Raznick to create the score for the game. With the award-winning composer on board, Bernie states that this will help greatly in creating a greatly immersive journey as you play the small, furry creature. AWAY: The Survival Series is said to be available later in 2020 for both PlayStation 4 and for PC on Steam.
