Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Announced With Cross-Play Between Xbox One, PlayStation 4, & PC

After all the talk and rumors, Activision & Infinity Ward have revealed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare which would be the fourth game in the series. The game comes with a brand new story so it’s not a prequel or a sequel and it’ll have a fresh campaign. The game is also aimed to launch on October 25th, 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, & PC. For the first time a Call of Duty game will support cross-play among the three major platforms & there will not be a season pass. The PC version of the game will only be available on Battle.net. At the end of the trailer it has been confirmed that Modern Warfare’s DLC will be available on PlayStation 4 first which means Sony has the marketing rights yet again. The cross-play feature will work for co-op campaign and competitive multiplayer from what we understand. The nature of war is changing. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launches on PS4 October 25. pic.twitter.com/GpbX8lmJSR — PlayStation (@PlayStation) May 30, 2019 In just a few weeks we will learn more about the game and its multiplayer most likely since there will be a Call of Duty panel at the E3 Coliseum and CWL Anaheim is right after which is one of the biggest Call of Duty esport events. It would make sense to show more of the games competitive nature at the Call of Duty World League Event in front of a passionate fan base. One of the bigger discussions about this game going forward is that will there be another Battle Royale mode like we’ve seen with Blackout on Black Ops 4? Keep in mind that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 did not have a campaign mode and made it all multiplayer. It’ll be interesting to see what happens. Stay tuned for more updates regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Source

Xbox Game Pass Is Coming To PC

One of the best services Microsoft has brought to the Xbox platform is Xbox Game Pass where you pay a monthly fee for over 100 games from AAA, first-party exclusives, and your favorite indie games. It has been already two years since the service was introduced and now they have announced the XGP is coming to PC. Xbox Game Pass for PC is just like the original for console, but it will be a new experience that they are building together with the PC community. The service will come with over 100 high-quality PC games on Windows 10 and it’ll be partnered with companies like Bethesda, Devolver Digital, SEGA, Paradox Interactive, Deep Silver and there’s a bunch more. In the future when new titles from Xbox Game Studios launch they will be available for the service the same day as release so you don’t have to wait for it to be added. Microsoft had stated they are working with over 75 developers and publishers to bring PC content to the service. One of the other pros about Xbox Game Pass coming to PC is that members will receive discounts in the Microsoft Store on Windows of up to 20% on games currently in the library and up to 10% off related game DLC. Back in March it was announced that Halo: MCC would be coming to PC after being highly requested by the community. Today, Phil Spencer confirmed that Gears 5 and all Age of Empires I, II, and III: Definitive Editions will be hitting the PC platform as well. Here is what the Head of Xbox had to say about this: “We know millions of PC gamers trust Steam as a great source to buy PC games and we’ve heard the feedback that PC gamers would like choice. We also know that there are other stores on PC, and we are working to enable more choice in which store you can find our Xbox Game Studios titles in the future.” June 9th marks the day of the Xbox E3 2019 Briefing and we could expect to see more about Xbox Game Pass for PC such as when it’ll launch. Report: Death Stranding Is A Timed Exclusive And We Can Expect A PC Launch In 2020

Yesterday before the official announcement of the Death Stranding release date, Antonio Fucito came out and leaked the November 8th release date via Tweet. Now, found by ResetEra user, Rodjer, the game looks to just be a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4 and that a PC launch could happen sometime in 2020. The same man, Antonio Fucito, has said this via stream: The PS4 cover didn’t have the “Only on PS” label because DS it’s coming to PC at a later date, that’s the deal signed between Kojima and Sony, the game will be a timed PS4 exclusive and will be available on PC later on (won’t be available on Xbox), i don’t know if it’s a 6 or 12 months exclusive. Seeing the credibility that follows Fucito, it doesn’t seem foreign to the idea that the Italian journalist turns out wrong after his initial statement does end up being legitimate. Though most flagship titles on the platform stay to be exclusive on the PlayStation Store, there have been some games that have slipped through to being ported on the PC. Such as RGG Studio’s Yakuza Kiwami and the following sequel, Yakuza Kiwami 2. As well as the more recent announcement of thatgamecompany’s Journey which is revealed to drop on the Epic Games Store sometime next week, there seems to be a pattern forming with initial PlayStation exclusive titles making their way to PC at some point post-launch. But for Kojima Productions cinematic adventure title to be a timed exclusive, it would have been expected to at least be advertised that the game is not entirely unique to the PlayStation platform. Unless Sony is holding off on the detail for a future State of Play or as a post-launch announcement. Nonetheless, this is just speculation ultimately until properly revealed by either the developer/publisher or Sony themselves. Do you think Death Stranding will be coming to PC anytime in the future? Death Stranding is currently listed for PlayStation 4 and set to launch on November 8th, 2019. Source: ResetEra
Halo MCC To Add XP Progression, Seasons, Challenges & More

In today’s 343 Social Stream, we got our first glance at Halo: The Master Chief Collection running on PC. More specifically, we got to see the first title coming to the PC version, Halo: Reach. This is a WIP build set to be shown off at E3 in June, with beta testing on Steam planned to begin sometime after. If you’d like to check out the demo of the 5th campaign mission, “Tip of the Spear”, check it out below. On top of that, we got a detailed blog post explaining some upcoming planned features coming to the MCC in later updates. If you’d like an extremely detailed explanation on the upcoming features, be sure to check that out. A quick summary of planned features includes: ●XP Progression throughout the MCC ●Seasons ●Daily & Weekly Challenges ●Firefight Matchmaking ●Halo: Reach Campaign Playlists Halo: Reach had a huge focus on earning credits to purchase armor and customize your spartan, and the new overall leveling system for the MCC is planned to be the evolution of that concept. All matches played on dedicated servers will reward XP, no matter which Halo game it is. By leveling, you will earn Season Points that can be used to purchase emblems, nameplates or other customization elements. The Seasons will change and reward different things, with the first season focusing on Halo: Reach unlockables. No content that is currently available in the game will be locked behind this new aspect either, so you won’t have to worry about losing anything. Challenges were also a big part of Reach, and are planned to make a return to the overall collection. Daily and Weekly challenges will test your skills in a variety of modes and offer some nice diversions for fans looking for XP in fun ways. These challenges are planned to reward seasonal points. Those who grinded their way through the ranks in Reach will surely remember the challenge system and how it helped break up the monotony of ranking. Reach will also be added to the social match composer, with most of the gametypes defaulting to use the TU settings. The TU(Title Update) was a late patch for the game that altered some aspects of gun bloom, bleed through, and armor lock. The majority of the community would definitely agree to this, as it was widely preferred to the default settings. That’s not to say the default settings won’t exist, however, they just won’t be as prominent. MLG settings will also be applied to the ranked Reach Hardcore playlist that will feature zero-bloom-no-sprint settings. Overall, it looks like MCC is becoming the collection we all wanted it to be back when it launched in 2014. It’s been a long journey, but it’s starting to look promising for PC users jumping in for the first time and for returning Xbox users ready to come back. We should be hearing even more details on MCC during E3 in Los Angeles.
2019’s Need For Speed Title Skipping Reveal At EA Play Next Month

Today, Electronic Arts revealed that there is a new title currently in development for the Need for Speed franchise, but unlike many reveals that traditionally take place next month at E3, the publisher revealed that the game will not be showcase with a proper announcement. Last week, we reported that there is in fact a game for the fan-favorite racing series aimed for a Fall release along with a new installment for the Plants vs. Zombies series also. 2019 does mark the 25th anniversary since the first title in the ongoing series dropped all the way back on the 3DO in 1994, and EA does recognize how much the quarter century celebration means to the franchise. And as part of that, publisher Community Manager Ben Walke shares that this year will be especially different for the newest title as the franchise enters its 26th year since debut. Walke in the latest blog post discusses that things will be done in other manners as compared to years previous. For one, the game will be skipping EA Play next month and will showcase the game at a different time. Are you going to hear more about the next NFS title? Yes. Is it being released this year? Yes. Will we be doing anything in June? No. It’s as simple as that, but we wanted to give you a heads up before you started asking “where are you?” Our goal is to deliver a truly memorable high-speed entry into the 25 years of NFS, rather than a series of promotional events. The post later goes into detail to explain that the Need for Speed team is looking at every factor that defines the IP, that primarily being cars and customization. On top of other elements that play their own part, the team explains that it creates an “essence” that imbeds in the DNA of the series. Electronic Arts seems to already change up how the industry runs when it comes to E3 as the publisher will be hosting their press conference via livestream rather than hosting the event in Los Angeles during the convention. And now with Need for Speed doing the same with their absence at the approaching event, it makes the entirety of the company more unpredictable, but also exciting. No word on when the title will be properly revealed or what direction the series will be taken for this year’s title. Source: Electronic Arts
Official Reveal For This Year’s Call of Duty Announced For Tomorrow

Last week, word broke out from YouTuber LongSensation that this year’s Call of Duty will be titled ‘Modern Warfare’, and revealing that the coming first-person shooter will be a light reboot of the series under Infinity Ward. Following the disclosed information going public, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier later confirmed that the leak was in fact real. The YouTube channel continued sharing more details on the title such as the decision for the unannounced title sharing the same name as the original 2007 game, the return of campaign, and wording that “A lot is changing this year and for the better for CoD.” https://twitter.com/LongSensationYT/status/1132035451081113601 One bullet point that really sparked conversation though was that LongSensation states the reveal for the game will occur the following Wednesday, which is tomorrow. But unlike the content creator getting confirmation when dropping the title’s name, the same however did not happen for the official reveal. Suddenly this afternoon, the Call of Duty official Twitter posted a short, 20 second long video teasing that the reveal will take place in less than a day from the tweet being made. Which on top of the hype also lines up with the YouTuber’s initially suggested tweet. https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1133776280065675265 The teaser has a caption reading “Going Dark,” and displays several images distorted from the wavelength design unique to the Modern Warfare franchise. It also shares that the reveal will be taking place on May 30th at 10:00 AM PST (1:00 PM EST). All in all, this seems to be a very exciting time as Call of Duty will be returning to its traditional roots after the year break of futuristic warfare in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Especially as Sledgehammer Games will not be involved in the series’ development cycle, this will ensure more classic CoD will be coming as Black Ops 5 was seemingly confirmed in the same incident.
