Valve Rolls Out New Auto Chess Title Dota Underlords

It seems that as the rise of auto chess titles on both PC and mobile platforms continue to grow, we will see more adaptations of the expanding genre as time continues on. Today, valve has officially announced that their iteration of the mode will be dropping today, going by the title Dota Underlords. Nearly a week ago, pre-alpha footage for the game leaked and fans have been eagerly waiting for when the title will receive its proper announcement: as more fans anticipated the game’s reveal, they did not expect it to be just days after the initial leak. On top of the domain for the title being discovered by fans, it was a matter of time before Valve took the main stage to fully announce the title. According to the blog post on the Dota 2 website, Underlords will pit you against seven other opponents and given the responsibility to manage your crew to win the game. Unlike the traditional Dota etiquette of fast reflexes to take the match, players will have to play strategically in order to dominate the opposing players. Mentiond in the post it details that those who own the battle pass for Dota 2 are granted access to the game through the preview build on Steam. Talks of an open beta are in the works down the line for the game with the playtest coming available for other platforms on Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android. Adding on that cross-play along with cross-progression will be available when the beta officially goes live in the future. Dota Underlords is currently available on Steam. Source: Valve
E3 2019: Sniper Elite VR Officially Announced, Discusses Details

Days prior to this year’s E3, developer Rebellion announced that Sniper Elite VR amongst Evil Genius 2 and the now revealed Zombie Army 4: Dead War will be at the event in Los Angeles. As part of the virtual reality title’s presence at E3, the team officially announced the title with a detailed video answering some questions fans had for the hardly covered game. As like most Sniper Elite titles, players have the ability to explore and shoot Nazis freely, but with this iteration the game is fully adapted into the first-person viewpoint. Looking from the over-the-shoulder gameplay presented from the short vidoc, it is evident that players will have to traverse through teleporting rather than simply moving the analog stick to walk this time around. The studio shares that as for the game’s campaign, it will be a new experience as author Tony Schumacher, most known from his work on the Second World War with The Darkest Hour and An Army of One will be writing the story’s plot. Adding on that the title will be sharing the same setting in Italy just like Sniper Elite 4, but offers “a brand new story with brand new levels.” Weapons are as expected for the Sniper Elite game as Rebellion details that along with the long-ranged sniper rifle, other guns like the submachine gun and the more silent Welrod pistol will be making a return for the VR title. Though the title will be available on PSVR as well as Oculus and the HTC Vive, the British studio takes advantage of all fronts with supporting the Dualshock 4, aim controller, and move controller for those who plan to play on Sony’s hardware. And before you get worried, Rebellion also managed to preserve the iconic x-ray kill cam and made it a comfortable and headache-free experience made specifically for the VR experience. Sniper Elite VR will be “coming soon” to PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive.

Unlike the initial 1993 title, the coming reworked game will instead offer a top-down view with a more chibi and light-hearted look for the title. Though this is a reimagine of the original game, the main basis for the story’s plot is about the same more or less. One interesting feature presented was the dungeon creator which allows players to craft their own tombs for Link to explore and collect new rewards. To create a dungeon, players will need chambers which are unlocked by progressing through the game and in result layout the dungeon for you to prospect and find the secrets hidden within. During the same event-respected Direct, it was revealed that Nintendo has already started development on the sequel for 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
