Here’s PlayStation Plus’ Free Games For July 2019

The monthly lineup of free titles have been announced for this coming July in 2019 for PlayStation Plus with PES Productions’ Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 and Aquiris Game Studio’s Horizon Chase Turbo. The first headlining title is part of the annual release of the ongoing series from publisher Konami which offers realistic Soccer gameplay, well-known faces from some of the biggest leagues on the planet, and game changing outcomes from each diverse athlete featured in the game. The second being Horizon Chase Turbo, the nostalgic-looking racer offers a unique experience varying in characteristics such as “modern visuals, a soundtrack with insane arpeggios, and classic split-screen couch multiplayer.” Unlike other traditional racing titles currently out on the market, the free July title takes a bigger step providing different climates to race in such as rain, sandstorms, and even through volcanic ash. For those who have yet to grab the freebees from June’s PlayStation Plus lineup, you have just a few more days until July 1st to download Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Sonic Mania. For more convincing, owners of the bundled of 2K titles will also receive the free, connecting DLC ‘Commander Lilith & The Fight for Sanctuary’ which ties together the plot between 2012’s Borderlands 2 and this September’s Borderlands 3. Nintendo Shares To Be Looking Towards Expanding Online Service

The Nintendo Switch Service debuted just over 9 months ago with many looking ahead for what the subscription service has to offer in the long run. With the initial promotion offering an exclusive library of NES titles for those who pay their way in, users are waiting for what’s next under Nintendo sleeve. According to a Q&A involving the investors at Nintendo, it seems that the Japanese company is currently looking at ways to expand the service that we have presently. Twitter user @Cheesemeister3k was gracious enough to translate the questions and answers which were posted by @NStyle via Twitter. One question pressed the topic of nostalgic platforms, mainly the N64 and GameCube, asking for what Nintendo has planned to reintroduce the consoles to the current generation for those who played when said hardware originally dropped. Nintendo shyly avoided the question by sharing that the company is open to going in different directions towards offering the Online Service available on the Switch. A10. While I can't give any new information about further classic hardware etc. here, we are thinking about expanding the NES software lineup on the online service and other ways of providing them.We understand your desire to play past products. https://t.co/lh0ln4bLWd — Cheesemeister →🧵/🟦☁️ (@Cheesemeister3k) June 27, 2019 As for the overall push for subscription-based services, Nintendo is aware that the company is falling behind compared to competing Microsoft and Sony for their platforms: sharing that the initiative for new content is currently in the works also on top of the NES collection. “We’re delivering NES games for the Switch. We’ll need to keep expanding,” Nintendo answers “For each type of content, we will expand while thinking about what titles are appropriate for the subscription.” Earlier this year, dataminers discovered that traces of the succeeding SNES console was discover in the NES app on the Switch. Looking that Nintendo plans to eventually introduce a new platform of titles to the Switch Online Service, but when the time is right for the company. As Nintendo is known to hop onto the nostalgia train the first seeing the launch of the NES & SNES miniature consoles as well as the current subscription on their latest platform, it’s questionable why the company isn’t eager to act the same for the said service. Possibly to utilize alongside the coming new, unnamed hardware? Only time will tell.

Microsoft, Sony, And Nintendo Band Together Against Tariffs Under Trump Administration

xbox trailer logos

At a prior date this month, acting U.S. President Donald Trump revealed his next plan aimed to protect the nation’s market against Chinese goods in the current trade war between the Asian country by increasing tariffs on imports by 25 percent. Trump’s plan is to hopefully result with China coming with a response towards meeting somewhere in the middle, but it seems that the hike on imported goods could make a bigger impact on items like video games as well as consoles. In response to the possible new tax being imposed on the gaming market, hardware manufacturers such as Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony have drafted a letter together on the matter to revise the plan. The letter addressed to General Counsel for the Office of the United States Trade Representatives Joseph Barloon, the console giants are asking to be exempt from the proposed tariff among other points made in the letter. While we appreciate the Administration’s efforts to protect U.S. intellectual property and preserve U.S. high-tech leadership, the disproportionate harm caused by these tariffs to U.S. consumers and businesses will undermine—not advance—these goals. Accordingly, we respectfully request that the Administration remove HTSUS subheading 9504.50.00, covering video game consoles, from the final list of tariffs, and thus refrain from applying tariffs on these products. Seeing that Microsoft and Sony already detailed their succeeding consoles for their entry into the approaching next generation, it is transparent to why the companies seek to be excused from the tax against China. As well as Nintendo seeing that a newer iteration of the current Nintendo Switch is planned to release in the coming year. Deprived from the composed letter, one major point made is that due to the complexity of creating these new consoles would affect the American development industry greatly for both console and part manufacturers. Meaning that on top of the price for console to rise, said hardware will also be limited due to the growing cost of pieces that make the console. What are your thoughts on Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo taking part in opposing the possible tax on upcoming hardware for the gaming market?

The more deadly additions to the map is the Leviathan that marches throughout the map as well as the flyers that in the more arid pieces of the map towards the east from Skull Town to Runoff. Xbox’s Phil Spencer Shares That Pressure On First Party Titles Hurts Overall Outcome

Overall outcome of titles all play into effect based on not only the team behind the game, but also other parties that are involved with the project as well. Primarily, where the funding comes from that makes the game a reality is typically one of the larger outside entities that plays a role in games when shooting for a release date. But when the publisher gets too involved with a project, this typically results with said game to underperform from lack of time to work and polish which then follows with the game slumping in both sales as well as reception. And as we have witnessed time and time again this generation especially, publishers have become more involved when instead of letting the developer work the game to its full potential. Xbox Head Phil Spencer made this apparent in a recent interview with Kotaku recently as he is aware of how the larger party affects the ‘finished product’. The outlet when questioning the decision for a new Forza title being absent at this year’s press conference, Spencer replied that the show only focused on titles arriving in the coming year. Despite the game receiving a annual release juggling between the Motorsport and Horizon iterations of the franchise, neither were present at the event. It was nice—and this hasn’t always been the case with our first-party line-up—where we’ve had the ability to not show everything all the time. The discussion then turns to how games are finalized from the pressure that blankets on top of the developers in the following question: Spencer reflects on previous projects that released and emphasizes the “quality of first-party is important.” “We did reach a time in our first party where the number of games and studios that we actually had and were investing in put a lot of pressure on everything that we were doing.” Spencer continues on to explain that set deadlines were “difficult” to meet when trying to forgather the high expectations of their titles for the platform. Ultimately being impossible to have too much weight on the developer’s shoulders while schilling out high-quality titles. Though Spencer does not directly label the games as under-performing, he does imply that the titles could have done better if exploring their full capabilities. Spencer is already showing the new developer-friendly initiative with the recently acquired Double Fine Productions. As previously reported, Tim Schafer explains that Microsoft does not intervene and gives developers more freedom to work on their games to their full potential. Source: Kotaku
