Early Access For Media Molecule’s Dreams Ends This Weekend, No Release Date Shared, No VR Support At Launch
Developer Media Molecule has been busy this past year ever since the official Early Access release for the studio’s upcoming project, Dreams. Essentially the game allows players to create virtually anything with the tools provided ranging from films to games, making the possibilities endless as to what can come from the vision of the users. Unfortunately, the testing phase for Dreams is coming to an end according to the development team themselves. This week the British developer shared that the Early Access build for Dreams will officially close on December 7, this Saturday. However, in light of the matter media Molecule revealed the Impys: an awards show for some of the best creations that came directly from Dreams. The show will cover awards for Best Visuals, Best Narrative, and Creator of the Year. The Impys will be going live on January 20th next year. What many would assume be released from the game’s studio as the game is going into the final stage of development following the closure of Early Access is the launch date for Dreams. But its saddening to share that was not disclosed either, neither was a timeframe for when players can expect the title to arrive also. Adding on to the upsetting news that released this week regarding Media Molecule’s IP, it was also revealed that the title will not be shipping with support for PlayStation VR as well. Speaking with RoadstoVR writer Scott Hayden, Media Molecule Communications manager Abbie Heppe shared that VR integration will not be available at launch. However, Heppe does add on that the team is looking to add support for the headset in the short future following the game’s scheduled release. Already knowing that the game has yet to reveal a settled release date, it is a good guess we might see it at this coming State of Play presentation next Tuesday. Especially as the game alike Ghost of Tsushima are PlayStation 4 projects that have yet to release so late into the generation, it would be soon that they would release before the inevitable PlayStation 5. Are you excited for the full release for Dreams? Dreams is currently listed for PlayStation 4.
Capcom Reported To Reveal An Unannounced Title During This Month’s Jump Festa 2020
Developer Capcom is reported to reveal an unannounced project at this month’s approaching Jump Festa 2020. According to Ryokutya2089, the company will have four titles playable at the event in Japan: one being the unnamed title among three others. When heading over to the Jump Festa website, Capcom already has three games listed to be available on the show floor: Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Street Fighter V: Champion Edition For what remains to be this unknown title is up in the air for the time being. Capcom has a bevy of projects that is said to be working on that has yet to be properly announced as of yet. One being the long-awaited Dragon’s Dogma 2: Director Hideki Itsuno shared in an interview with VG24/7 earlier this year to have been split between working on the now-released Devil May Cry V or a sequel to the original 2012 hack and slash action RPG. So at least for Itsuno, it points towards a Dragon’s Dogma sequel. On the other hand, there is the possibility of seeing the previously leaked Resident Evil 3 Remake at the show as well. Being that the game is now suspected to debut at next Tuesday’s PlayStation State of Play presentation, the game could be ready for the show by then if the rumors happen to be true. Sources who spoke with Eurogamer previously shared that the game was scheduled to be released sometime in 2020: in conjunction with the timing of the latest leak, this might actually be verifiable if we see the game in the coming week. What other Capcom games do you think might be shown off if not the two already listed? Make sure to let us know in the comments below! Which looks to be a very good change of tide for the Swedish publisher seeing that the chances of Starbreeze’s head going under water within the year as reported earlier this year. Upon the decisions leading up to official commencement in the restructuring process for Starbreeze Studios, we have witnessed the company selling off initially-owned subsidiaries under the company as publishers like Rockstar Games and Microsoft have acquired from Starbreeze. Today, we are delighted and proud to announce that we have successfully completed the reconstruction process. It has been a toilsome journey for the entire company over the past twelve months, but we are very pleased to have gained the creditors’ confidence and have succeeded in reclassifying the majority of our debts to long-term to be repaid over five years. Mikael Nermak, Starbreeze AB CEO However, upon the sold assets that Starbreeze had no choice but to sell in their circumstance, only on intellectual property truly stay, Payday. Celebrating in the restructuring agreement, Nermark also shared to be excited for the franchise’s future in the coming year. “Together with all our employees, I look forward to reaching a publishing agreement for PAYDAY during the first half of 2020 via the ongoing dialogues we’re currently in, and to develop the game into a worthy sequel to the series together with a respected partner. Following the most latest financial report for Starbreeze Studios, we were already subjected to some elements of the company’s restructuring: one being the splitting of the firm into both Starbreeze Publishing AB and Starbreeze Studios AB. The other juicier piece being that the earliest release for the upcoming Payday installment would be somewhere in 2022. Given that Payday 2 released back in 2013, it would be refreshing to see the series return well into the new generation of console hardware. Are you excited for the reassuring future forpayday 3?
