UPDATE: We were expecting the next Call of Duty title to be titled Modern Warfare 4, but it has been confirmed by Jason Schreier from Kotaku that the upcoming title from Infinity Ward is called ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’.

This might come as a surprise to a lot of people because it would just make sense to go with the number order, but instead it looks like the company decided to do something different this time. We’ll see more about Call of Duty in the coming weeks.

ORIGINAL:

Just last week it was revealed through Activision’s latest financial report that we will be expecting a reveal for the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise within the next two months. Now more information surfaced dealing when exactly we can expect to get our eyes on the new title from Infinity Ward set to launch later this Fall.

Announced on the E3 official twitter, the electronic entertainment event revealed that fans that angst for the unannounced title can look forward to June for when we can get a look at the forthcoming title. Regarding what the title exactly is has yet to be discussed in the post.

Knowing that Sony will not be at E3 this year, this does certainly fill in the question for where Call of Duty will sit for the Los Angeles-held event as it sits as one of the most anticipated series in the industry. Since the PlayStation company currently holds the marketing rights to the warfare-centered franchise, it was expected that Sony would showcase the new title if their press conference was present this year.

This announcement does also need to be clarified that: despite the game being announced to be present at the event next month, this does not confirm the game’s announcement to be at E3, just to be discussed and shown off. Meaning, that Activision could still reveal the game this month just weeks before E3, as they have continuously done in years prior.

Are you excited for the new Call of Duty title?
