Soulcalibur VI Team Still Undecided On Port For Nintendo Switch

It has been more than a year since the release of Soulcalibur VI: fans on the competing Xbox and PlayStation have indulged in the game already atop of PC, but fans on Nintendo Switch, however, have yet to get their hands on the latest entry for the series. Ahead of the games release, Producer Motohiro Okubo shared that the team has yet to prioritize a respected port before the game’s release. Which is completely understandable since the tech is still fairly new and foreign for developers to tinker with when bringing visually demanding titles like Soulcalibur to the platform. The same can be said for Bandai Namco-published, relative fighter Dragon Ball FighterZ which received a Switch release following the initial debut. However, now in 2020 it looks that the chances of the game’s release for Nintendo Switch is still unsure. In an interview with fan forum Soulcalibur Community, Okubo shares that the team has yet to suggest making the version still. If I have to answer seriously, I think I remember telling you previously that we’re not sure we can port the game to Nintendo Switch. I said we have to examine and look into that, and well… When I said that, I didn’t know if we’d have a Season 2 yet and now that we have one, I’ll be totally honest by saying we didn’t have time to look into that. So basically, the situation hasn’t changed much. Alike what the game’s producer reiterated, Bandai Namco Entertainment have still yet to conjure whether or not the team will make the Switch version for Soulcalibur VI. This is primarily due to the limited space leading up to Season 2 for the game as the developer at the time was unsure if it would arrive. Okubo later on in the interview tells that fan support is the solitary drive for Season 2 to arrive answering for the publisher being satisfied with this entry. When questioned about having a larger budget for the project, Okubo directs his interest more towards crafting more roster additions & stages rather than including Switch owners to the fun via a port. Below Announced For PlayStation 4 With New Explore Mode, Slated To Arrive “Soon”

Reversing back to the end of 2018 became quite a unique moment when Capybara Games’ Below officially arrived to both Xbox and PC. The title quickly picked up traction thanks to its unique soundtrack done by Canadian musician Jim Guthrie and the isolated world underneath the game’s surface which you experience. Transitioning into 2019, word broke out that the game is reported to debut later on for Nintendo’s and Sony’s platform at some point: Director Kris Pitriowski told that the game would not be a console exclusive as ties will eventually be cut from Xbox One and migrate to other systems later on. And now this month looks to be the first sign of the new venture. According to a new trailer uploaded by the team earlier in February, Below will be “coming soon” to PlayStation 4. You can watch the new trailer in the video underneath: Parallel with the inauguration of Below to new hardware, Capybara Games also announced a new Explore mode for the game. Essentially a lightened survival mode, players won’t have to manage hunger/thirst, traps will inflicted reduced health whilst instant deaths are removed completely, and checkpoints will be accessible after death to ease exploration for players. The new mode that will debut for PlayStation will also arrive the same time for Xbox and PC as well. Oddly enough, despite the implications picked up from Pitriowski’s interview last year, there is no sight of a Nintendo Switch version following the announcement as of yet. Have you played Below or plan on to when it arrives to PlayStation? Below is currently out now for Xbox One and PC.
Team Ninja Hopes To Answer Fan Outcry For New Ninja Gaiden Title

To refresh on some unaware of the series, Ninja Gaiden has been around for more than three decades with the titular debut of the first game in 1988 on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since the inauguration of the property, the game has migrated beyond platforms, eras, and genres with time continuing on. The series, however, as of late has been neglected as many fans would feel with hopes that a new mainline entry would arrive in the coming future. The latest entry coming from Team Ninja in 2013 with Ninja Theory 3: Razor’s Edge. The series since then has been followed with the mobile spin-off 100万人のNinja Gaiden which released the same year in Japan and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z which later arrived in 2014. Regardless, fans of Team Ninja’s work are still anticipating for the developer to return with a new title sometime soon. According to an interview with IGN this month, Team Ninja’s Director for the upcoming Nioh 2 shares some reassuring news for those waiting fans. Fumihiko Yasuda tells that the studio is aware of the fan’s request for a new installment and hopes to deliver on that outcry sometime in the coming future. The core members of the team that worked on Ninja Gaiden want to make a new game. We are aware that some fans wanted Ninja Gaiden more than Nioh 2. Additionally, Yasuda then goes on to acknowledge that while the team is working on the exciting sequel for Nioh, he expresses to hopefully be able to make a new title especially seeing games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice release last year. Seemingly, it was also picked up that Yasuda did referenced Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima as well without mentioning the name in detail. Concerning details onto what this act of God title could be in the future, Yasuda failed to shed some light on the matter. Assumably, I would suggest that whatever the title might be, expect it to be another third-dimensional action-adventure. In the wait for a new entry, fans did however migrate to spiritual successors like Sabotage’s The Messenger. Leading up to the game’s release, original Ninja Gaiden Director Hideo Yoshizawa and Composer Keiji Yamagishi shared their approval on the Indie Game of the year nominee. PlatinumGames Head Shares Interest In Self-Publishing Bayonetta, Require More Funding Than Recent Kickstarter Campaign

The last few weeks concerning Japanese game studio PlatinumGames have revolved around the team’s ambitions to become self-reliant on developing as well as publishing their created properties in the future. Most recently, the developer debuted a new initiative introducing four new titles that will come from this uprising for independence: The Wonderful 101: Remastered being the first to being announced. However, the team also looks towards more anticipated franchises that they have developed previously. One series mentioned being the billboard Bayonetta which debuted on Sega back in 2009. The IP was then handed over to Nintendo with the release of the second titular installment and the upcoming third entry for the hack and slash. When talking to IGN Japan earlier this month, PlatinumGames head Atsushi Inaba to have interest in self-publishing the series. However, Inaba quickly went to clarify that this news is surely a “desire” rather than a devoted benchmark the team wishes to reach in the future. Which comes to be understandable seeing that the process alone for self-publishing surely is a detour from achieving what could be done if having a publisher at hand. The team has resorted to crowdfunding with the latest project to port 2013’s The Wonderful 101 to current hardware. But Inaba does again clarify that if the team were to resort in Kickstarter for Bayonetta, the budget listed for the campaign’s goal would be much higher than what was initially asked earlier this month. Another obstacle that PlatinumGames would be facing when attempting to self-publish Bayonetta is property ownership. Currently, the IP is in the hands of a 50/50 split between Sega and Nintendo. So disputing to claim ownership of the series would also be another venture alone atop of approaching a realistic budget for the game too. In this discussion of exterior ownership of PlatinumGames intellectual properties, the developer shares to also have interest in porting 2019’s Astral Chain to other systems as well. Revealed in the financial statement, we learn that August-released Control has skyrocketed an estimated 57 percent following the initial release due to word of mouth and acclaimed reception for the new property from the Finnish developer. The goal of Vanguard is to create a game that combines long-term service-based multiplayer experiences with some of Remedy’s unique game features. Remedy Entertainment CEO, Tero Virtala Going more into detail, Remedy discloses that both properties are expected to commence pre-production very soon. Opening Box Office For Sonic The Hedgehog Surpasses Last Year’s Detective Pikachu

This conversation will always surface when the topic turns towards video game-adapted film: the translation of the interactive source material to the silver screen, for the most part, shows to be a loose interpretation of both the ambitions and expectations for the series. We have seen it time and time again for nearly half a century with more than a dozen properties being integrated into motion picture – and we have yet to properly see that be done with the medium at use. Even when it comes to the latest highly-anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog which arrived to theaters this weekend, the same still can still be said for it despite the urgent changes made to the film which later delayed it from the initially scheduled last November to 2020’s Valentine’s Day. Howbeit, that aspect disregards the actual box office sales as it just came in that the starring flick of Sega’s Blue Blur has just surpassed last year’s Detective Pikachu. Going into specifics, the Paramount Studios’ film this weekend have accumulated roughly $57 million in the time span between Friday to Sunday. This is in contrast to last year’s Warner Bros. Pictures’ film which earned $54 million in opening weekend. Additionally, the movie is then said to be projected for roughly $68 million including tomorrow’s President’s Day for the four-day weekend box office. However, international sales look to potentially crack a whopping $100 million which is very plausible seeing the fluctuating growth in revenue projections this past weekend for the film. Dividing the movie between both markets, stateside box office is currently recorded to have obtained an estimate of 14 million dollars as the international box office is listed for an impressive $43 million for the first three days of releasing. The milestone so far for Sonic the Hedgehog has already toppled a previous record now making the film the most successful for a video game to movie release. Listing For Catherine: Full Body Surfaces On Korean Ratings Board

When it comes to initial Atlus-developed titles migrating to other platforms, the chances always seem to be rarity for any hope to see that develop into reality. As of recently, fans have been eager to see a slew of different Atlus properties being ported to Nintendo Switch like the billboard Persona and Shin Migami Tensei. And publisher Sega is aware of the demand as seen with the latest survey posted earlier this month. However, it seems that the company has already cashed in on noteworthy titles from Atlus coming to Nintendo Switch according to a recent discovery. Unearthed on a Korean Rating’s Board, a new finding reads that Catherine: Full Body will be coming to Nintendo Switch. The rating reads to be available for the Switch this past January in South Korea, the listing cites. Full Body is a reiteration of Atlus’ 2011 titular title which released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. However, this version of the game instead features a third girlfriend ‘Rin’ alongside a handful of additional endings for the game. Even players wielding mouse & keyboard also indulged in the near decade old property as Sega teased and later released the game for Steam with a straight to PC port of the original console version. It was later clarified that the build being released for PC would be exempt from the additional content that would be arriving to the PlayStation 4. Excitingly, these listings that surface in from other regions like Korea and Taiwan typically are viewed to be premature announcements of the respected game. As for when we will expect the port to arrive, fans will have to sit patiently until developer Atlus are ready prepared to make the reveal public. Nintendo Paves Way For New Additions To NES & SNES Libraries, Coming This Wednesday

Nintendo regarding the two Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) libraries available on the Switch Online Service as of recently have really simmered down on the addition of supported titles coming to the emulated catalogues. The company shared to spare monthly additions last year, but reasons exactly were not disclosed. Although it is suggested that the firm is prioritizing other fundamental features for the Nintendo Switch due to this decision, owners have already grew accustomed to the slimmer amount of new properties being added to the line of retro titles. Back in December, Nintendo returned after a few months to include six new titles to both libraries including fan-favorite Kirby Super-Star and Star Fox 2. Now halfway through the second month of the new decade, Nintendo is back once again to reveal four approaching additions for both NES & SNES. Here are the next segment of games being added to Nintendo’s retro repertoire: Eliminator Boat Duel (SNES) Pop’n TwinBee (NES) Shadow of the Ninja (SNES) Smash Tennis (NES) Unlike prior additions, these new games to the two libraries are a bit slimmer in quantity than previously as you can tell. As for the substance of these titles as well, it is lackluster also since there are no billboard properties featured. Fortunately, the same cannot be said about future additions later in the coming future, hopefully. In a recent report from gaming insider @New_SabiWabi on Twitter, the user reiterates the previous rumors to be true regarding retro title Paper Mario 64 alongside a supposed successor to Metroid Fusion. You can read the full report by heading here. What titles are you interested to see be added next to the NES/SNES libraries? Nintendo Switch Online is available now priced at 1 1onth for $3.99, 3 months for $7.99, and a full year for $19.99.
Quantic Dream Is Now Fully Independent, Preparing to Self-Publish In Near Future

French development team Quantic Dream as of recent has taken an interesting turn of events regarding the software from the game studio alongside potentially taking on the status of becoming a fully independent developer. It was reported back in August that the team was looking to becoming a “boutique publisher” sometime down the line, but the developer at the time is still in search for the opportunity to do so, studio head David Cage explained. Now fast-forwarding to this week, Quantic Dream in celebration of the company’s upcoming 23rd birthday of the firm reveals to be going independent. In the post, the team discusses their achievements and working with known faces in film through their projects, but felt to only be touching the surface of the studios full potential. It wasn’t until the previous minor acquisition of the developer made by NetEase that truly unlocked opportunity for the company; through expanding their current repertoire of projects to the PC platform being the result of the purchase. Then reflecting on the release of 2018’s Detroit: Become Human is what keyed in the possibility for the studio to pursue self-publishing. This new venture will allow us to make decisions in total independence, and to address the technological and strategic opportunities of next-generation platforms. It will also allow us to help other developers, by providing investment and development support, so that they can fully express their talents. We want to support creators of original projects and help them, in turn, to achieve their vision and offer quality, ground-breaking experiences. Adding on, Quantic Dream defines this new segment of the company’s life to be more than simply “an evolution – it’s an transformation.” Continuing on to declare that the game developer will pursue new heights with this newly granted freedom whilst still maintaining the fundamental elements of the close to their chest regarding new projects. Especially now that Quantic Dream having the ability to conjure up the experience they please without an overbearing publisher dictating the direction their work will provide more unique work than ever before. Atop of the independence for creative freedom, this only reiterates the possibilities of witnessing future properties debuting on competing platforms in the coming future. Explosive Sticky Bombs – Propelled by a handheld launcher, you can shoot these devices on enemies and objects which can be detonated at anytime.
