Atari Reveals New VCS System Arriving Later This Fall

It was back in 2017 when prolific console pioneer Atari announced a retro-looking system that would reinvigorate the industry with notorious projects that graced the populous back during the inception of the Atari 2600. Revealing the codenamed Ataribox, the system was shared to be a love letter to fans of the initial console while also attracting new fans for generations to come. While pre-orders for the console went up the following year in 2018, the system faced a handful of delays well into the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic leaving the release uncertain for when the Atari VCS would release. But in light of a dark chapter for humanity – Atari announces that the new hardware will ship later this fall. Fans that have supported the system since its conception earlier on via its Indiegogo campaign can expect the Atari VCS to ship sometime in October. Following fans can pick up the system for $349 sometime this holiday season. With that, retailers offer their own unique editions of the system for sale: Atari offering the Black Walnut; Wal-Mart selling Copper Gold; GameStop supplied with Onyx. Atari returns to the living room with the Atari VCS™ — a completely modern gaming and video computer system, blending the best of consoles and PCs to delight a whole new generation of gamers and creators. Additionally, Atari is also offering the ‘All-In Bundle’ which includes the titular VCS console, modern controller, and wireless joystick for $399.99. The vanilla VCS 800 unit will be available for $299.99 with either gamepad (modern or classic) running for $59.99 each. In anticipation for the new release later this year, Atari announced that Missile Commando: Recharged will be a launch title for the system when it arrives. While the title did release on Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile this year, the VCS version will offer unique features such as support for the classic joystick that will launch for the console as well. Capcom Announces Mega Man VR Experience Coming This Month To Capcom Plaza In Japan

Despite the current setbacks deployed by the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic – such as limited occupancy and social distancing – attending traditional social gatherings at public locations have become almost something of the past as humanity waits for the illness to blow over. However, as we now enter the second half of 2020, we begin to see segments of pre-virus activities begin to return with new cases beginning to decline around the globe. With that, companies are eager to satisfy returning customers with new things to find when travelling to their favorite places. One being Capcom Plaza Ikebukuro where the titular game publisher offers fans unique experiences and products based off of properties owned by Capcom such as Monster Hunter and Devil May Cry. In a new announcement this week, Capcom announces there will be a new Mega Man attraction coming to the location later this month. Revealing Mega Man VR: Targeting Virtual World!!, this will be a unique experience as players can fight against enemies from the universe in the game. A peaceful virtual reality world where everyone was having fun playing. But Dr. Wily is planning to hack into and conquer that virtual reality world! Equipped with the virtual reality goggles developed by Dr. Light, Mega Man will dive into the virtual reality world and put a stop to Dr. Wily’s evil plans. In particular, this new virtual reality project will be set during the events of Mega Man 11 – so fans of the recent installment are surely in for a surprise. Other following details regarding the new experience were not spared upon the announcement being made. Concerned followers regarding the ongoing pandemic and entering social circles in public – there is a work around currently underway for these experiences. According to a report last month, Sega disclosed to be operating on a new cloud-based system to emulate arcade games and experiences of the sort for players to participate from home. Guerrilla Games Shares Horizon Zero Dawn PC Version Arriving In Early August

Close to the halfway point of June this year, it was discovered that the Complete Edition for Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn was listed via a Korean Ratings Board. In that, the uncovering insinuated that the arrival for the game – at least to share the release date – would be on the horizon seeing that the game was slated for a summer release previously. Now in a new trailer shared today, the Amsterdam team elaborates more on the game’s jump to the PC platform. Excitingly with more changes to how the game operates, players will also have the option to purchase the game on either Steam or Epic Games Store based off preference. You can watch the new trailer in the video below: Expanding more on the different options available for players wielding keyboards and mice, users will have the option to alter virtually the appearance of the world among other aspects of the game that is limited on console. Elements such as dynamic foliage, texture quality, and anti-aliasing. Although the game did receive a Pro enhancement on PlayStation 4, these new options expands vastly ahead of the console counterpart. Guerrilla Games also allows players to map the controls for users that have a specific control scheme to pick up the game with ease. Moreover, there is also the ability to unlock framerates to perform at speeds that exceed the console version and even the option to format the game for ultra-wide aspect monitors as well. That same month, Guerrilla Games announced that the sequel for the studio’s 2017 title will be arriving as an exclusive title for PlayStation 5. New Fallout Series Announced With Westworld Creators Producing For Amazon Studios

This past week or so leading to the next page for 2020 – the gaming industry as began pushing into the medium of television recently. In that, recognized properties like Cuphead was officially shown off with its animated series unique to Netflix with a brief trailer and casting reveal. Additionally, CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would also receive a new anime inspired from the universe exclusive to Netflix as well. Now not even settling into July yet, Amazon and Bethesda has emerged to announce that a new series based on the Fallout series is underway for production. More excitingly, Amazon shares that Kilter Films will be producing the coming project. The production team is most recognized for their efforts with the recent success on HBO, Westworld. Amazon made the announcement on Twitter with a reveal trailer – which you can view in the post below: “Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios,” Kilter Films’ Lisa Joy and Johnathan Nolan spared their excitement for the new project. Alongside both Joy and Nolan being Executive Producers for the new series, Athena Wickman of Kilter Films alongside Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard will be posed for the same role. The plot for the series itself is suspected to be accurate to the atmospheric rumbling of post-nuclear America after the bombs dropped in 2077. Casting for the series has yet to be discussed on the new production.
