Microsoft Shares An Overview For The Revamp Coming To The Xbox Store

For users that use Xbox One avidly should be familiar with the current state for the Xbox Store. While the UI does work and do the job, how it functions does not directly stand to be what you would expect from a modern console in 2020. The interface continues to be very jagged and does face freezes or lagging which just makes purchasing or simply navigating a hassle on the platform. However, the firm has recognized this issue and plans to resolve what has effectively plagued using the Xbox One entirely as the digital storefront is a leg of the table for the console. In a new blog post, the company elaborates more on the coming update which is shared to be intuitive and responsive in contrast to the version available now. Xbox Principal Program Manager Cody Bird tells that the new Xbox Store is a reconfiguring of the current base and pushes the boundaries for a reinvigorating experience many would hope to find on Xbox One. “Far more than a typical app update, we’ve rebuilt the experience from the ground up to be faster, safer and easier to use than ever before.” Our goal is to provide an inclusive and intuitive experience for everyone, and we’re committed to making it easier than ever to find your next favorite game, app, movie, or TV show. This starts with a fully redesigned navigation system, allowing you to jump between shopping experiences in a snap or deep dive into something specific. The team’s emphasis to bring accessibility and guide users with ease on the Xbox Store is told to be an ambition for the coming revamp. The update will also include a new Wish List for users to save items from the store alongside and shopping cart that functions as would expect on other platforms. And with the next-generation upon us, Bird also tells that shopping is simpler than ever before as viewing items will not hinder the user no matter what platform the game is available on. Previously, Microsoft was reported to still be retaining the current interface from Xbox One for the approaching Xbox Series X. While users were irritated that the firm does not expand to a new dashboard for the next-generation unit, perhaps the new Xbox Store’s navigation will reflect that on Xbox Series X to change some minds. You can read the report in full by heading here. What are your thoughts on the new look and approach for the Xbox Store? The Xbox Store overhaul is said to ship first to Xbox Insiders on August 5, 2020; all users can expect the update sometime this fall. Source: Xbox Wire

Sony Lists PlayStation 5 Support For First- Party Accessories Including PlayStation VR And Dualshock 4 For Backwards Compatible Titles

Comparing the Xbox Series X to the PlayStation 5, Microsoft’s next-generation console poses to be a universal machine for current and upcoming accessories for the system. Exempting the Kinect that originally launched with the system, the firm’s most noted detail for reusing older devices on the newest unit is that Xbox One controllers will be compatible with the Xbox Series X, then-codenamed Project Scarlett. But regarding Sony’s PlayStation 5, the firm did not spare if the same can be said for its holiday-scheduled console. But in a new blog post today, the firm shares new details to verify what will be playable on the PlayStation 5 when it arrives in the latter months of 2020 this year. Among the collection of first-party accessories like steering wheels, arcade sticks, and fighting sticks, Sony confirms all will be compatible with the PlayStation 5. The current Dualshock 4 controller is also told to be supported on PlayStation 5. However, only the games available via backwards compatibility for PlayStation 4 is said to be compatible with the controller – negating the option to play next-generation titles. We believe that PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features we’re bringing to the platform, including the features of DualSense wireless controller. Isabelle Tomatis, Sony Interactive Entertainment Peripherals Marketing and Licensing Additionally, other PlayStation products such as the supported headset on PlayStation 4 will also receive the go on the next-generation system. Even the PlayStation Camera is told to be compatible for PlayStation 5 also. But, Sony does continue by stating that the device will require users purchasing an additional adapter to use the PlayStation Camera. Most excitingly, Sony verified the support for PlayStation VR. While Mark Cerny already confirmed the peripheral’s compatibility with PlayStation 5, this puts it in stone now. The PlayStation Move controllers are also receiving support for games available on the platform. But, the firm does not clarify on the recent rumor if the Dualsense controller truly does not support PlayStation VR. As for the ambitious tales that were disclosed previously, those happen to be shrugged off following the latest statement. YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead claimed that his sources that were correct about the reboot for Playground Games’ Fable also dished out that the sequel for Santa Monica Studios’ God of War would be presented during this week’s show. But now collecting that there will be not first-party titles present, it is now deemed inaccurate. What are you hoping to be presented during the coming PlayStation State of Play. Spider-Man Will Ship To PlayStation Version Of Marvel’s Avengers In Early 2021

Following the game’s official reveal back during Square Enix’s E3 press conference last year, developer Crystal Dynamics had a big order to take on when sharing that the team will be tackling Marvel’s most notorious group of superheroes. Even disclosing that additional help will be provided from Deus Ex studio Eidos Montreal – which previously worked on Batman: Arkham Asylum – the project did hold to be promising. However, despite the game’s initial potential with the amount of effort that is in-store, users online feel underwhelmed with the gameplay demo presented at the time and still share the same feeling to some extent well into 2020. With a beta for the game already shipped for PlayStation 4 users, perhaps the user base might get a change of opinions with the game finally in their hands. Microsoft Is Slowly Retracting The Optimized Stickers On Xbox Series X Cases

Halfway through this past month, the first glimpse at the Xbox Series X physical game case was presented showcasing what fans can look forward to when picking up the respected title at retail establishments. However, while the PlayStation 5 aims to differentiate its case from the current PlayStation 4, Microsoft’s ambitions aimed towards a more included approach for the new platform. Rather than the top portion of the case reading Xbox Series X, it simply displayed ‘Xbox’ emphasizing the rebranding for the unit alongside remaining neutral to other platforms the game could be compatible under the name. However, for consumers to understand if the game is playable on Xbox Series X, the firm stamped on a large optimization sticker on the front of the case. The decision swiftly brewed up complaints from users online for how absurdly large the label is on the front which was then followed by hyperbolic mockups of the sticker taking over the entire case. However, it looks Microsoft is listening as the firm has been found removing the optimized sticker from its cases. Niko Partners’ David Ahmad shared the finding on Twitter with the cover for Codemasters’ Dirt 5. Now, consumers can only rely on the labeling at the top if the game will support Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or both. Ahmad does share in the thread that the sticker has been repositioned to the back of the case. Adding on, he tells that the label on the backside is more “subtle” and less immediate to the large optimized logo used originally. Elsewhere, The Verge’s Tom Warren also predicts that the label will also be relocated to the back of the case also. On recent news for the Xbox Series X, platform head Phil Spencer when speaking on a podcast disclosed that new information – specifically hardware – will be presented later in August. You can read the full report by heading here. Are you fine with the optimized sticker being removed from the front of Xbox Series X game cases? Xbox Series X is said to ship sometime in holiday 2020.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will receive cross-play between Xbox One & PC by the end of 2020

In the most recent weeks, 343 Industries has been slowly seeping out new details regarding Halo Infinite ever since the game’s live gameplay demo that took place late last month. The move is seen to open the floodgate for more players as the campaign will only be charged. However, this already illustrated to shine brighter than the current Halo: The Master Chief Collection since the 2014-released title does not offer cross-play. Well actually, there is cross-play, but just mot on console. The support to bridge platforms is compatible between the Steam and Windows 10 versions of the Halo anthology bundle, as reported from the title’s PC specification requirements. But 343 Industries in a recent MCC Development Update pens that the feature will be present before 2020’s end. In the post, the studio closes the piece by listing a handful of additions aimed to the game – cross-play being amongst them. Here is the full lineup of additions planned to hit the game during the remainder of this year: Crossplay Input Based MM Sever Region Selection Custom Game Browser Per Game Graphics Options Per Game Audio Options M&K Support for Xbox PC Fileshare Double Keybinds for all games Viewmodel adjustments for all games In game FPS Cap/Adjustments Steam Account Linking Dissecting the list further, 343 Industries also highlights some highly-requested features also slated for arrival. One being a Custom Game Browser: while the option is already available, it is a pseudo-process to install the files and becomes very tedious in contrast to in-house built browser. PC on the other hand is still waiting for the game to receive file share support that its console counterparts already use regularly. Additionally, keyboard & mouse support is also another emphasized feature to be added for console users. On Xbox One, the implementation is done in-house to properly introduce the support for the PC peripheral to console. Title’s like Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, and Warframe already offer the feature. Per release of the listed mechanics, 34 Industries shared the dates could not be shared. However, the firm did list that cross-play will be available in one bundle early on followed by the Custom game Browser alongside keyboard & mouse support in a second wave later on.
