Hood: Outlaws & Legends trailer is out

Hood: Outlaws & Legends

Hood: Outlaws & Legends is a new PvP game from Focus Home Interactive (World War Z) based on (you guessed it) Robin Hood. Disney, Warner Bros., and many others had their own interpretations of the famous outlaw that robbed to rich to feed the poor. Focus Home, along with developer Sumo Studios (one of its locations from Nottingham, aptly), released a trailer that shows a very dark twist from a traditionally lighthearted tale. The merry men in this trailer are portrayed as stealth assassins, taking down Prince John’s men one by one, often with brutal, bloody results. This will no doubt earn an “M” rating. But just when they were about to take a valuable treasure chest, it seems like another faction is doing the same thing. Another twist: the leaders of both of these factions are faceless. What does this mean? Will you create your own character, including gender (since Robin Hood is historically male)? Will this be a fight among the factions to see who is going to emerge as the Robin Hood, since their leaders are faceless? It’s a PvP game so it looks like there will be a civil war, and how is Prince John going to factor in on this? Hood: Outlaws & Legends will give you an opportunity to steal gold and treasure, and try to earn the people’s trust. Some of the gameplay is reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed, or do you, as a player, prefer an open war against other factions since it is a PvP game? Hood: Outlaws & Legends will be out on 2021 for all Xbox and PS systems, and Steam. No word yet on the Switch.

Bethesda Shares Teaser Trailer For Doom Eternal DLC The Ancient Gods, Part One

Nearly three months back in May of this year, developer id Software uploaded the first glimpse at the coming add-on story for Doom Eternal. With this being the first narrative DLC for id Software’s reboot of the titular franchise, many fans were eager to see what will be brought into the game following the base story campaign that arrived earlier this spring. Collected from the images, you can witness that the new experience will transport the player to an oil rig-like setting and unmask what is expected to be a new terror of hellspawn waiting to be exterminated by the Doom Slayer. Granted, there were no further details following the images being posted, so fans including myself got creative with what could be included in the full expansion when id Software or Bethesda decides to share more. During today’s QuakeCon @ Home, id Software unveiled a teaser trailer for the first DLC – announcing The Ancient Gods, Part One. You can view the teaser trailer in the video below: “Your victory over Hell’s armies pulled humanity back from the edge of extinction, but it came at a cost,” the overview in the trailer’s description reads. “An imbalance of power in the heavens requires the true ruler of this universe to rise and set things right. Wage war across never-before-seen realms of the DOOM Universe and fight against new demons in your never-ending battle against the forces of evil.” In addition to the brief look for what will come in the first segment of the string of DLC for Doom Eternal, Geoff Keighley – host for Gamescom Opening Night Live – disclosed that an extended gameplay preview for The Ancient Gods, Part One will be presented later this month, August 27. Microsoft Comments On Apple’s Store Policy Refraining xCloud From Being Supported On Branded Devices

Looking towards the following month this September, Xbox players will be able to indulge in some of their favorite titles on the platform anywhere with Project xCloud. The cloud-based initiative allows users to stream the platform to their smart devices and play high-intense games alike you would find from a physical unit. However, the platform is currently limited to Android-powered devices for the time being. Although Microsoft had ambitions to pursue bringing Project xCloud to iOS products as well – even launching a TestFlight for the service – the firm recently dismantled the program for Apple tech. In that, Microsoft revealed some App Store policy is hindering Microsoft from properly developing Project xCloud to Apple’s fleet of devices. Microsoft effectively told that the preview ended this week, insinuating development for iOS is halted until further notice. Now in a new statement made by the firm, the company elaborates further on the matter. Our testing period for the Project xCloud preview app for iOS has expired. Unfortunately, we do not have a path to bring our vision of cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to gamers on iOS via the Apple App Store. Apple stands alone as the only general purpose platform to deny consumers from cloud gaming and game subscription services like Xbox Game Pass. And it consistently treats gaming apps differently, applying more lenient rules to non-gaming apps even when they include interactive content. All games available in the Xbox Game Pass catalog are rated for content by independent industry ratings bodies such as the ESRB and regional equivalents. We are committed to finding a path to bring cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to the iOS platform. We believe that the customer should be at the heart of the gaming experience and gamers tell us they want to play, connect and share anywhere, no matter where they are. We agree. However, despite the hurdle that is currently in front of Microsoft, there is a possible work around for Project xCloud for iOS. The Verge elaborates that alike with Shadow, a cloud streaming service, the firm could offer a remote compute “host device” which despite not being connected to the user’s respected device does align with the App Store policy refraining Microsoft currently. Additionally, Facebook has shared to be on Microsoft’s side of the argument as the firm told The Verge elsewhere that it was forced to close its mini game feature due to the instated policy. “Unfortunately, we had to remove gameplay functionality entirely in order to get Apple’s approval on the standalone Facebook Gaming app — meaning iOS users have an inferior experience to those using Android.” For the time being, there is no definite answer as to if Project xCloud will ever come to iOS. While Microsoft does share to be ambitious in finding an alternate path later on, for now it is off the table. With there still options to innovate the service for the platform, we will leave the announcement for time to tell later on. Do you plan on using Project xCloud on Android?
