Amnesia: Rebirth Arriving Next Month To PC, Frictional Games Reveals

Looking back to the beginning of the past decade, developer Frictional Games stood to be a prominent team in the horror game genre with the release of Amnesia: Dark Descent. The game became an influential entry via online walkthrough commentators and live streamers at the time and still holds its value for those that play it currently. While the series received a second installment in 2013 with Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, the game was developed by The Chinese Room as Frictional Games stood as the publisher for the follow-up. Howbeit, the game was followed by a draught as a new entry has yet to arrive since the release of the second game. The time extending past the wait time for A Machine for Pigs by two-fold, it is certainly overdue for the series to make a comeback. It wasn’t until December last year that Frictional Games resurfaced to tease a new entry is on the way for the series with a domain also appearing. Now today, a trailer has been uploaded for the aforementioned title learning that it is Amnesia: Rebirth. With the new footage, it reveals the title will be shipping ahead of Halloween next month. You can watch the trailer in the video below: “You are Tasi Trianon, waking up deep in the desert of Algeria. Days have passed. Where have you been? What did you do? Where are the others?,” the overview reads on the game’s Epic Games Store page. “Retrace your journey, pull together the fragments of your shattered past; it is your only chance to survive the pitiless horror that threatens to devour you. “Time is against you. Step into Tasi’s shoes and guide her through her personal terror and pain. While you struggle to make your way through a desolate landscape, you must also struggle with your own hopes, fears, and bitter regrets. And still you must continue, step by step, knowing that if you fail you will lose everything.” Unlike its predecessors, Amnesia: Rebirth will not be releasing on Valve-owned Steam. Instead, the game will be arriving uniquely to the Epic Games Store later next month. As of writing, it is uncertain if this will be a timed agreement with Epic Games and Fractional Games or if it is a permanent deal for the coming game. Are you excited for the next Amnesia title? Amnesia: Rebirth is arriving on October 20, 2020 for PC.

Rocket League Officially Goes Free-to-Play On September 23rd Next Week

It was this past July that developer Psyonix shared new information for the future of Rocket League: it was that the car soccer title will be breaking down its pay wall to open up the game as a free-to-play experience. Following an incredible five years since the inception of Rocket League, the game only grew in popularity with multiple platform releases and a seeping at the lid competitive scene for the evergrowing title. So it would make sense that Rocket League would at some point take down the option to pay for the game seeing how much growing influence backs the game. The only thing left is for the update to convert the title to free-to-play to properly arrive. With a release window for the latter parts of the 2020 summer, fans are awaiting for the news to officially drop. And now today, Psyonix and publisher Epic Games unveil that the new Rocket League will be arriving in the following week this month. The announcement was shared in a new cinematic trailer which you can view in the video below: In addition to Rocket League not costing anything for players to enjoy, the game will also be debuting on Epic Games Store the same day that the update goes live. Tomorrows update will also include a new menu interface, upgraded quick chat, new bot difficulty, and a collaborative Rocket League X Monstercat remixes that will be added to the game’s OST. With the addition of the update set for next week, Psyonix is said to officially unveil a separate partnership that will be shown then. Tobyfox Offers Update On Deltarune Chapter 2 With New Screenshots And Development Details

This year in 2020 marks the five year anniversary for Tobyfox’s Undertale. And while the first entry from the self-named developer is not on his plate anymore with the more ambitious Deltarune now underway, there is still plenty to reflect on the first project leading to the upcoming Chapter Two for new title. One being that development for the new game is more complex than Undertale and requiring more hands to be in the pot. Howbeit, in a new blog post made by Tobyfox himself, he tells that he has taken the position of story writer, composer, audio director, map designer, battle designer, minigame designer, and director cumulatively since beginning development for Deltarune. He discloses that with the first chapter for the new title to be a basis for future entries to make up the full experience, he adventured to break out of GameMaker for a new engine. But after trial and error, he concluded that Chapter 2 will be utilizing the proprietary engine of the initial projects now. With development starting in May 2020, Tobyfox shares to be confident for a late 2020 release of Chapter 2 for Deltarune. “A lot of progress has been made since that time. I believe we can complete this chapter, content-wise, before the end of the year,” he tells in the post. But the timeframe mentioned is premature to much needed polishing and porting for Chapter 2. And while the game is still due to release fairly soon, it is expected that the second part fir Deltarune will fully arrive sometime in early 2021 if development goes as planned. In that, Tobyfox also offered new screenshots for the game which you can view below: Despite the minor setback for Tobyfox and the team behind Deltarune currently, he believes the time used learning more about the project and its full circle return to GameMaker was fulfilling. Even more, Tobyfox went to tell that more ideas and concepts for Deltarune when developing these past few months has also sprouted new ideas as to what can be found in the game with new entries underway. Tobyfox goes on to share that Phase One (core design & dialogue) is finished and that the second phase of development is still being grinded out currently. Elements such as music, art, combat mechanics, and cutscenes are roughly halfway finished. He also goes as far to disclose that Phase One for Chapter 3 of Deltarune is near completion as well. All in all, Tobyfox illustrates development as of late and the progress made is confident on his end. It was November of 2018 that he told that development could be facing a strenuous gap in tow for Chapter 2, but that looks to be less of problem after returning to GameMaker. Activision Reveals Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 Breaks Franchise Record As It Exceeded One Million Units Sold

What seemed to be an eternity away with the highly-anticipated Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 arriving to current hardware at the beginning of September, it surely was a trip leading up to the title’s arrival from its May announcement. Given the short notice for the title being announced to its release, that did not matter much to fans as beloved players can relive their childhoods with a revamped version of the first two games that define the series. Given that many – either it being Xbox, PlayStation or PC – were definitely excited for the return of Birdman’s definitive game series, it was suspected that the new game would sell well with word of mouth and nostalgia fueling the franchise’s comeback. Howbeit, the results for the title’s performance ended being more than even publisher Activision could have predicted. In that, the firm on Twitter announced that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 has broken a record stretching across the entirety of the brand – disclosing that it has sold one million units in the shortest amount of time recorded. And hardly trading beyond the two week mark for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2, it is expected that the number could continue to swell leading to the holiday season later this year. Even more, that number could face greater proportions if recent findings happen to be true about an upcoming port for the recently released title. According to a finding on Twitter this past August, it was uncovered that control prompts for Nintendo Switch peripherals were discovered in the game’s pre-release Warehouse demo. Sony Clarifies Report Suggesting Sluggish Production For PlayStation 5 To Be Incorrect

Just coming off the ride that Microsoft offered its fans last week with the Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S both slated to arrive in the second week of November, the crosshairs now points towards Sony as fans or more so the entirety of the industry looks towards the console titan as for its move regarding the PlayStation 5. As of yet, there is only a release window set for this holiday with no price point confirmed for either iteration of PlayStation 5. But while the firm has been silent as of late on the next-generation, the company was previously reported to be doubling down on production for the PlayStation 5 compared to the preceding PlayStation 4. From Nikkie Asian Review, the publication disclosed from sources within Sony that the firm is planning to produce roughly 9 million units in the first fiscal year compared to the 5 – 6 million of the current system. That was until this week that Bloomberg reported from its own sources that the company has faced shortages in certain components to manufacture consoles efficiently in meeting its benchmark for the coming generational leap. Stating that about 4 million units would be missing from the initially scheduled shipment this year. Howbeit, Sony just now clarified the report to be false when speaking to gamesindustry.biz. While we do not release details related to manufacturing, the information provided by Bloomberg is false. We have not changed the production number for PlayStation 5 since the start of mass production. Although it certainly is plausible for the firm to face such setbacks due to the limitations of other manufacturers pursuing the same components on top of the currently ongoing economic climate, Sony has verified the report to not be true. Given that the firm was previously reported to face a potential cut due to the cooling system for the console, it looks that Sony has acquired enough components to meet the established production rate. And just ahead of the scheduled PlayStation 5 showcase set for tomorrow, it is reassuring for fans anticipating to learn more about the new console this week. As for potential announcements, it is speculated Final Fantasy XVI could make its debut thanks to a locked Japanese Twitter account uncovered recently. You can read the full report by heading here. What are your thoughts on Sony’s plan to out produce the PlayStation 4? PlayStation 5 is scheduled to arrive sometime in holiday 2020. Source: gamesindustry.biz
Review: Glorious Model O & The GMMK Keyboard

What Glorious has done with these two products is impressive. During the Model O testing I was able to compare it to the Corsair M65 pro and the Lexip Pu94. I had the Corsair K65 membrane keyboard and the K70 with cherry red switch to compare to the GMMK (Full) Gateron brown switches. The Model O by Glorious is an obvious competitor to wildly popular FinalMouse Ultra-Light Pro, but due to their extreme limited production this was not available for a direct comparison. The software is what gives the Model O its clear advantage with 5 DPI step selection tool, it is utterly amazing for competitive FPS games. The weight of the Model O was a concern until I used it for a couple of days and moving from a 135g to 67g mouse was a shock to the system. What you will find is that the reduced weight you will inherently reduce the amount of fatigue your wrist or arm feels after a long gaming, editing or drafting session. This mouse checks off a lot of boxes with its software being so simplistic yet robust. Some of the feature in the software should not be overlooked such as the USB report rate being able to be set from 250HZ to 1000HZ (125 hz = 8 milliseconds and 1000 hz = 1 milliseconds.) and debouncing. (A latency factor to help prevent you from double clicking). You almost start to forget about the actual craftsmanship of the mouse and how beautiful the design is all the way down to the ultra-light weight nylon wrapped cord. I think this mouse will shine the brightest in the realm of casual to competitive FPS. The Model O will allow you to customize your DPI to for example, 4500 dpi and then the next step down to 600 dpi, now that is a major gap but just imaging the following scenario: Dropping into Warzone and someone is popping shots at you from the edge of the world it seems, so now you can flick over to the general area at 4500 dpi then step your dpi down to 600 so that your cursor won’t move out of the general hit box area. This should allow you to clean up a couple of kills and then jump back up to 4500 dpi and swap to your Kilo an keep it moving. In games like Call of Duty, Fortnite, Valorant and many many more it is all about gaining the competitive advantage. The ability to flick quickly to something and then slow your cursor down is how the Model O gives you this competitive advantage and so much more. In short, the Model O by Glorious is light, accurate, comfortable and customizable all while being a very good-looking accessory. Model O Prices: Matte Model – $49.99 Glossy Models – $59.99 The GMMK (Full) with Gateron black key cap switches (Brown) is a great starting point for newcomers to the world of custom keyboards. This pre-built keyboard from Glorious seems basic out of the box, however it’s anything but that. The standout feature of this keyboard are clean and clear keystrokes that are from the spacing provided in between the board and the bottom of the cap. Most keyboards allow the keys to recess into the board but the GMMK’s float above the board. This raised key approach provides 2 benefits: It allows easy access for swapping/replacing your own keys. (This is a huge detail for custom keyboards.) It gives the keyboard a premium look and feel. As well it gives room for the RGB to shine a bit more. The Gateron GMMK is on the louder side of things for my general taste but it is by far not as loud as some keyboards I have used in the past. The cable management is well done giving 3 options for which way you want your cable to lay (Left, right or middle) and the cable itself is a firm braided cloth, but I think one of the stand out features of the cord is the USB plug and the attached cover. As someone who used to travel to LAN event and conferences (Pre-COVID-19) it is always an issue when you get somewhere, and your connector is bent or scratched. So that is the hardware wrapped up, but we are not done yet because the software suite for the GMMK is just as good as the Model O if not better. With 3 custom profiles, straight forward macro menu and an array of fantastic RGB functions there would not be anything else, but they also gave you the option to increase the USB reporting rate from 250HZ all the way up to 1000HZ. Now this is a feature that isn’t common on keyboards but more so for mice because of the on-click event nature of keyboards, however it is pretty cool to set it at 1000HZ and drop the response lag time of the keyboard to 1 milliseconds. As for the custom keyboard market the GMMK (Full) with the Gateron (Brown) switches is a fantastic introduction to genre. What Glorious does right in the GMMK market is provide sturdy foundation for you to really customize the way you game on mouse and keyboard. Price – $109.95 In the end we recommend checking out both of these products by Glorious PC Gaming and keep an eye out on Pcgamingrace.com for updates and news on their new products coming soon.
