Sucker Punch Production Verifies Day One Backwards Compatible Support For Ghost Of Tsushima on PS5, Offering 60 FPS And Game Boost

What might not seem like a long time ago is this past July as Sucker Punch Productions unleashed its latest AAA project, Ghost of Tsushima. Since its announcement earlier this generation cycle, many were surprised to realize the title would be one of the last additions ahead of the next-generation PlayStation 5 console. And now almost three months after the game’s release, new details has surfaced on the game recently. In that, Sucker Punch Productions announces that Ghost of Tsushima’s online mode, Legends, will be arriving in a update later this month. The new mode will include two and four-player co-op with dedicated classes and a leveling system for fans to grow each character. However, it does not end there according to a new break of news today. On Twitter, the Washington-based developer spares that Ghost of Tsushima will be supported for PlayStation 5 backwards compatibility. Even more, the team also discloses that the title will be compatible for the Game Boost feature and offer 60 frames per second performance. The announcement greenlit by Sony Interactive Entertainment reiterates on a previous statement made by the firm: that about 99 percent of PlayStation 4 games will be available to play on the next-generation hardware. Howbeit, despite the amount of games supported including PlayStation VR titles, there are still some that will remain unique to PlayStation 4. Sony shared roughly a dozen games already that will not be playable on the newer consoles. For more on Ghost of Tsushima, we suggest you read our full review for the game by heading here. Rectify Gaming’s David Rodriguez pens his time playing to “absolutely loved Ghost of Tsushima.” He continues, “so many games based on feudal Japan are over the top in one way or another, and to finally have a grounded, beautiful, mature take on this era is something I’ve wanted for a long time.” Are you planning on revisiting Ghost of Tsushima on PlayStation 5? Ghost of Tsushima is out now for PlayStation 4; support for PlayStation 5 backwards compatibility goes live on November 12, 2020 and November 19, 2020.

Fans Speculate Sega Teasing Sonic Adventure 3 Following Recent Social Media Post

While the concept is split between the community, there is plenty who agree that the Sonic Adventure should receive a third installment. With the last entry, Sonic Adventure 2, arriving in June of 2001 followed by the special edition Sonic Adventure 2 Battle which arrived later December that same year, many are hopeful to see another game come from that subgenre for Sega’s billboard mascot. While there is no context as to what the next major release will be for Sonic the Hedgehog, it is certain that title will ship in 2021. Team Sonic lead Takashi Iizuka when speaking to Game Informer at E3 in 2019 verified 2021 will be the year for Sonic the Hedgehog’s next mainline installment. But little to no details has followed on what the game can be still. In January of this year, the now-closed Sonic the Hedgehog-centered website TSSZ News reported Team Sonic is possibly working on a remake for Sonic Adventure. In that, it was suggested the game was being reprised following the discovery of the game’s soundtrack being rerecorded then. Howbeit, nothing has came to fruition following the claim. Now in a new set of speculation from fans, many are convinced that Team Sonic is teasing Sonic Adventure 3 on its social media pages. In that, the firm posted an image of Sonic the Hedgehog’s profile illustrating that he encaptures the Golden Ratio perfectly. That then followed by Egg Man voice actor Mike Pollok responding with the song “3 Is A Magic Number” by Schoolhouse Rock on Twitter. When dissecting the image shared alongside the relevancy to Pollok’s response in the tweet, you can see that the Golden Ratio is framed in tiers. And grasping from what the voice actor added to the conversation, many suspect he is referencing a third entry is underway. Granted, it is a lot to take in on something that is simply fun that the team and voice actor is doing on social media, but it should still be considered that what is decided is fairly baseless for the time being. So fans anticipating on seeing a Sonic Adventure 3 announcement should keep their hopes on the back burner for now. Currently, this is only a rumor with not other exterior motives suggesting otherwise. Last month, users online uncovered an advertiser intended for investors for Sega. The image shared features emphasis on 2021’s 30th anniversary for Sonic the Hedgehog which is said to include “new games, digital content, events, major announcements, and a tailored licensing programme.” You can read the full report by heading here. What do you hope the next major Sonic the Hedgehog title will be?

Base Development Shared To Already Be Completed For Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix Recruitment Page Tells

During the latest PlayStation 5 showcase last month in September, publisher Square Enix opened the virtual presentation by revealing the highly-anticipated and long-awaited Final Fantasy XVI. After following a prior leak on Twitter at the time, the game officially made its debut during the show with a release date set for sometime in 2021. Given the time for the game to be settled in public sight with what has already been developed prior to that, it is presumed the latest installment in the Final Fantasy franchise would be hitting store shelves in the latter parts of next year. But, that might not be the case as of late as a new report has surfaced suggesting that the team is already finishing up on the core development for Final Fantasy XVI. On a recruitment page posted by Square Enix, the firm tells that Final Fantasy XVI is already closing up on the base development for the next mainline entry. The statement originally uncovered from Games Talk is translated by Gematsu into English: We have already completed basic development and scenario production, and are continuing to create large-scale resources and build boss battles while expanding our various development tools. Also, most of our staff are carrying out their work remotely. Further deciphering the recruitment page reveals that Square Enix is in search for individuals eager to assist in crunching out action-packed cutscenes, character animations, and the unique settings for the full game, Gematsu transcribes. But while the foundation is essentially finished for Final Fantasy XVI, there is still plenty of work left to finish. But gathered that a good portion has been completed on Square Enix’s behalf, there is room for a possible mid 2021 release for the game, speculated respectively. Looking ahead for Square Enix and the internal team closing in on more specific projects for Final Fantasy XVI, hopefully this leads to more exposure to the previously announced Project Athia. Last heard of the work-in-progress title was from Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda who ranked the game to be a open-world experience. You can read the full report by heading here. What are you most excited about the progress made already for Final Fantasy XVI? Final Fantasy XVI is listed to release sometime in 2021 for PlayStation 5 and Pc. Source: Gematsu

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Will Be At Least 60 GB For Consoles, Microsoft Store Listing Reveals

When counting down the days for the highly-anticipated entry from Ubisoft Montreal with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, many are interested as to where the game will stand in storage space of the cross-generation release. It was earlier in September that Ubisoft announced the latest installment in the series would be releasing ahead of its originally slated November 17 launch. Elaborating more on the announcement, the game would be shaving a week off of the wait for the game’s arrival to align its release with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S systems that month. So with less time to spare on the game arriving, this would mean the firm would need to release more information sooner on the upcoming title from Ubisoft. While details are still scarce on the matters of the game’s file size, the Microsoft Store offers insight on the matters. When visiting the page, you will find that the game is listed for just over 50 GB, 50.1 GB to be exact. However, that is only from the Microsoft Store alone and console users should understand the game will expect more installing to follow the base client. So while that is inching a little over its predecessor – Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will approach closer to 60 GB after the patches applied when it releases this November. And of course, that number will expect to further increase following more updates and even DLC which always follow new games after launch. Alongside Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Microsoft also unveils a handful of other AAA titles hitting Xbox Series X|S at launch. Those include Dirt 5, Tetris Effect, and Watch Dogs: Legion. You can read the full report by heading here. Do you think 60 GB is a fair amount asked for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla? Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches on November 10, 2020 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PC, and Stadia; hits PlayStation 5 on November 12, 2020 and November 19, 2020. Outriders Release Date Paved For February 2021, Free Upgrades Offered For Players Moving To Newer Consoles

Ever since the bombastic announcement for People Can Fly’s Outriders back during the Square Enix press conference back during E3 2019, fans following the development of the game grew more anticipated for the title when learning that the title will be arriving to next-generation systems as well. However, once the first sample of gameplay was presented for the game, fans were met with some disappointing news. In that, the team shared the game would be pushed from its summer 2020 projected launch window to a later holiday 2020 timeframe to release in. While it is saddening to see that the game will be arriving later than initially promised, it is reassuring the extra time will be well utilized for the newer hardware that will welcome the game. And now in a new trailer shared this week, People Can Fly announces that Outriders will be hitting store shelves in 2021 well after the holiday season in Q4. You can watch the release date trailer in the video below: In a blog post parallel to the new trailer posted, People Can Fly clarifies the reasoning for a later release is due to development being shifted to work-from-home. “COVID-19 has certainly affected our operations over the past months, but the teams have all worked extremely hard to adapt to changing circumstances. While the core game is now in a largely complete state, our testing operations were unfortunately among the most affected by the work-process-restructuring caused by the novel coronavirus. “To that end, we need a bit more time to get it right and ensure that the Outriders experience will be as smooth and issue-free as it possibly can be when we launch. It is our utmost priority to give you the best and most complete Outriders experience possible, at all costs.” In addition, People Can Fly also announces that Outriders will offer free upgrades to next-generation consoles in that respected family of systems. Sony Lists Close To A Dozen Games Not Supported For PlayStation 5 Backwards Compatibility

After learning that backwards compatibility will be supported for PlayStation 5 earlier this year, many fans feel dire to learn more about the feature and specifically what games will be added to the mix for the next-generation console. For now, Sony has forecasted that roughly 100 games will be available when the system launches: all being the most popular entries from the PlayStation 4. The firm went on to promise that the majority of the 4,000+ catalogue of titles will be added later on sometime after the arrival of the PlayStation 5. But for now, prominent releases throughout this generation will be readied for launch. Recently this past month, Sony Interactive Entertainment shared that a library of games will be offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers via the PlayStation Plus Collection – including major first-party and other AAA projects available on the system. But according to a new post on the PlayStation Support website, Sony clarifies there are some games that will stay unique to PlayStation 4 despite the upcoming backwards compatibility program. Here is the full list of PlayStation 4 unique games: Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One DWVR Hitman Go: Definitive Edition Joe’s Diner Just Deal With It! Robinson: The Journey Shadow Complex Remastered Shadwen TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2 We Sing Reiterating on support for titles that will be playable on PlayStation 5 backwards compatibility, Sony clarifies that some games will face some hiccups when running the feature for PlayStation 4 titles. In that, the firm insist that you verify that you are satisfied with the performance of certain games before deciding to purchase DLC for the respected title. “Before purchasing add-ons to play with your PS4 games on PS5 consoles, please try to boot and play your PS4 games on your PS5 console to see if you are happy with the play experience,” the statement reads. Even more, some titles are eligible to receive support from the system’s ‘Game Boost’ feature which will also bring better framerates and resolutions, but not all. On the dawn of the release for the new console, Sony after a lingering claim from an Ubisoft support post suggesting PlayStation 5 will not feature backwards compatibility for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3, the firm verifies that to be accurate. In an interview, Sony Interactive Entertainment President & CEO Jim Ryan shared that the feature “has not been achieved” for the mentioned systems. You can read the full report by heading here. PC Version Of xCloud Reported To Arrive On Windows 10 Sometime In 2021

When reflecting back to March of this year, the then and upcoming Project xCloud was always presumed to be an initiative unique to mobile devices. However, that was until a report coming from The Verge disclosed that there is an additional program within Microsoft working to bring the cloud-based service to PC as well. The writing offers that the platform at the time was only accessible for employees working at the firm. The report also including screenshots of xCloud on PC as well, determining when the platform would make its way to keyboard & mouse users is left for time to share. Given the initial emphasis on smart devices being the proper platform xCloud, it was expected that PC would follow the 2020 release for Project xCloud at the time. Now this week, a new report has surfaced over at The Verge sharing that xCloud is in fact forecasted to hit PC sometime in 2021. According to employees within Microsoft that relayed a statement from Xbox head Phil Spencer, he shares that PC is a “great opportunity” to further explore Xbox Game Pass and game streaming. The discussion comes from an all-hands on meeting held this week where Spencer discloses that iOS is expected to receive xCloud sometime that same year. Originally sourced from Business Insider, The Verge adds a statement from Spencer on the matters: “we’ll end up on iPhones, and iPads with Game Pass,” he announces to the group. Spencer is also quoted to that he “feels good” on the progress made already on the addition to iOS. Elaborating more on the matters for Apple users receiving xCloud in 2021, the report also tells that Microsoft will be pursuing an “browser-based solution” that would counter the issues that refrained the firm from launching the platform on The App Store. Report: Microsoft Schedules To Ship Xbox Game Pass Via Browser-based App For iOS In 2021

It has been about two months since the unfortunate feed of news from Microsoft revealing that the firm would not be further pursing iOS for the then-approaching Project xCloud. And it is not to say that Microsoft did not want to implement support for Apple users, but that the policy guidelines constructed by Apple themselves refrained Microsoft from integrating xCloud to the platform without facing a 30 percent cut of its own profits in the middle of it. Howbeit, it was about a month or so that Apple announced to be restructuring its policy following strict criticism the firm faced when word broke out on its behalf at the time. In that, the new rules applied would allow Microsoft alongside other platforms like Google’s Stadia to flourish on iOS. But there is one catch: each title would is required to be listed individually on The App Store where Microsoft responded in outrage on the consumer’s behalf. Now this week, a new report surfaced from Business Insider sharing that Microsoft will be launching the Xbox Game Pass app – the client to use xCloud – through a browser-based app sometime in 2021. This approach allows Microsoft to run its operations on iOS without the repercussions of being homed on The App Store. According to individuals familiar with the recent set of information, Xbox head Phil Spencer states that “we [xCloud] absolutely will end up on iOS.” To indulge further on support of xCloud on iOS, this is a major deal for users on the platform especially seeing how limited the TestFlight was for Project xCloud for Apple owners which started back in February. In relevance to more recent xCloud news, the Xbox lead elsewhere on Twitter elaborated on new features utilizing the cloud-based initiative. He tells that Microsoft is working to incorporate game demos for Xbox Game Pass so players on console and PC do not have to install before playing to learn if it was worth the wait.
