New Trailer For Apex Legends Showcases Season 7 Legend Horizon, Coming November 4th
In the past week or two, developer Respawn Entertainment has continued to be very vocal on the future of its growing battle royale, Apex Legends. In that, the firm announced a new Champion Edition for the free-to-play title revealing that new users can drop in at the start of Season 7 with the new Legend alongside all eight other characters behind an unlock wall. While the firm has not mentioned much on the new character, plenty has leaked prematurely on the new character revealing the next addition to be another female named Horizon. Through a teased challenge list, players when completing the objectives will be given a keycard to enable gravity lifts in specific parts of the map. Now in a new Stories from the Outlands, Respawn Entertainment gives an in-depth back story on the new Legend. You can watch the trailer in the video below: In addition to the new character, a new map will be coming as well. Titled ‘Olympus’, players who completed the quest line from Season 5 might remember the reference to the region from the discovery of Titanfall 2’s Ashe which followed into the Season 6 questline also. Even more, the team also shares that a new vehicle called the Trident will be introduced assisting players in travelling across the new map. Season 7: Ascension will also be debuting alongside the Steam version for Apex Legends. While simultaneously spreading the news, Respawn Entertainment did clarify that the Nintendo Switch version will now be ushered to a later release sometime in 2021. New Ubisoft Connect Program Ensures Cross-Progression For Ubisoft Titles, Including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla & Hyper Scape
For players that are familiar with Ubisoft’s plethora of AAA titles that released in the past decade, you should also be well-suited with the firm’s campaign of player-oriented services and rewards clubs. Namely Uplay and Ubisoft Club, both in-house programs are centered on brining flexibility and accessibility to users that regularly play titles from the publisher. But now, the two will be merging into one: Ubisoft Connect. Starting tomorrow, October 27, both services will intertwine into the ultimate platform for Ubisoft users. Along with While the new initiative will be plastered over the former, users on PC are reassured the current client installed will simply be updated. For other users outside of desktop gaming, you can simply search the app on iOS or Android. It is expected a similar application will be designed for consoles as well which we already use on Xbox or PlayStation. “Ubisoft Connect links players and services on Ubisoft games across all platforms,” the firm pens about the new pursuit in the blog post. “It is the unification and improvement of Ubisoft Club, our loyalty program, and Uplay, our Desktop App, across all platforms. It aims at giving the best environment for all players to enjoy their games and connect with each other whatever the device.” Alike the soon to-be-discontinue loyalty system currently utilized, Ubisoft Connect will open players up to new opportunities for in-game rewards and other virtual goodies. Current titles like Hyper Scape, The Division 2, and For Honor are just some to be supported for the new program when it launches. On top of that, this new linking of platforms also opens new features to Ubisoft games: cross-progression. Musician Travis Scott To Be Partnering With Sony Interactive Entertainment In New Creative Collaboration
This year in the gaming landscape, musician and recognized rapper Travis Scott has become an icon in the industry from his involvement alone. Back in April, the musical performer held a virtual concert in Fortnite titled ‘Astronomical’, a compilation of namely songs from Scott’s list of already-released tracks. The online event was reported to have accumulated 12 million concurrent users. Now in a new announcement over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony Interactive Entertainment shares a new creative partnership with Travis Scott has been established as the firm welcomes him to the PlayStation family. I’m really looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team. Most importantlyI’m excited to see how the PlayStation fans and family respond, and I look forward to running some games with everybody very soon! As part of the announcement for Scott’s addition, a new promotional video was posted of Scott alongside namely Sony employees and the approaching PlayStation 5. Facebook Unveils Free-to-Play Cloud Streaming Service For Facebook Gaming
For those who might recall a statement made by Xbox lead Phil Spencer dating back this past February, the gaming executive shared that its worries when leaning forward in the industry and on the verge of a new console generation is neither Sony or Nintendo, but instead the likes of Amazon and Google. Spencer explains that as gaming continues to evolve, many firms will intervene to bring more accessible ports of entry for entertainment. This has already been a pursuit for Microsoft with xCloud – a cloud-based streaming service which launched back in September – and the pursuit to further establish its presence is only to expand for Microsoft. But now another major competitor is approaching: Facebook. In a new blog post, the social media giant announces to be integrating cloud gaming into its self-named video game platform, Facebook Gaming. We’re announcing that Facebook Gaming has launched several cloud-streamed games in the Facebook app and on browser — playable instantly, with no downloads required. We recently had 200,000 people playing our cloud-streamed games per week in limited regions, so while it’s not exactly a secret, I’m excited to lay out what we’re building. Cloud game streaming promises to deliver unprecedented access to games across every screen. And while we’re thrilled to play a part in that future, that future is a ways off. Jason Rubin, Facebook Vice President of Play Facebook also tells to share the same perspective as Microsoft on its pursuit to incorporate and be an option alongside console and PC – not replace it. “We love console and PC gaming and both formats will be around for a long time.” For now, Facebook will offer the games expected from the platform with intentions to expand its library later on. Microsoft Welcomes More Than A Dozen Titles In Late October Xbox Game Pass Shipment
As many can tell, this month for Xbox Game Pass alone has been very generous with the amount of exciting additions that were welcomed to the monthly game streaming service. Early on, many were stoked to discover that Double Fine Productions’ Brutal Legend will be admitted to the catalogue among other notable releases as well. That was later rebounded by a second iteration of Xbox Game Pass titles being introduced such as 2D adventure Katana Zero and ScourgeBringer adding some diverse taste to the monthly subscribers. Now in a new announcement, there are well over a dozen titles – 15 and counting – that will be coming as soon as tomorrow, October 27.
