Recent Update For Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Reduces Game’s File Size By 25 GB On All Systems

As the joke continues to be told, the file sixe for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare is outrageously large. While it is understandable as to why with the amount of high-detailed textures, patches, and content as the game is being pumped with new updates constantly, it is surprising that Infinity Ward has not went to decipher a way in compressing the game’s digital footprint on supported systems. However, the developer has pressed for months that the team would pursue minimizing the amount of space each update would take up as the game continues to grow. And while it is reassuring, much signs of major chipping at the size of the aforementioned updates is not visible. But in a new patch that went live for the game this week, players can find the game’s file size decrease by roughly 25 GB. Infinity Ward Production Director Paul Haile disclosed on Twitter that the update will go live this Monday. Haile continues by explaining that the team has shifted the high resolution textures to a separate texture pack for console which reduces the space asked. As for PC, users can find a new function to stream high resolution assets dynamically which will reduce the amount of space for the game. Ultimately, this update benefits players on all systems supported for the game. Recently for Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch pressed that the game will be about 90 GB on current-gen machinery. But for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, the game treads well into the 130 GB territory. You can read the full report by heading here. Do you still have Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare installed? NBA 2K21 Is Reported To Be 150 GB On PlayStation 5

As we step closer into the next-generation, more things are expected to change – if you like it or not. When it comes to NBA 2K21, the title is one of the first properties to introduce $70 titles for the newer hardware. But of course, that is not all that is expected for the newest installment on Xbox Series X|S/PlayStation 5, the file size is also expected to climb higher as well. Already, we witnessed this with Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War as the game on next-gen systems asks for 40 GB more than those paying on the current devices. But for Visual Concepts’ NBA 2k21, that void is stretching ever further according to one user who managed to get their hands on a physical copy of the game. Reddit poster u/robo3687 shares that when inspecting the packaging for NBA 2K21, you will find the game with a file size of at least 150 GB. You can view the photo in the image below: In contrast to NBA 2K21 on PlayStation 4 right now, the game while still a hefty amount is roughly 87 GB. That is considered before patches and other updates that shipped post-launch. But for that to virtually double is truly mind boggling; especially seeing the PC version only asking for 110 GB at launch. For Xbox Series X|S, expect a similar amount as well. For those that yet to indulge themselves in the latest NBA 2K entry, we suggest you read out full review for the game. Rectify Gaming’s David Rodriguez tells his experience with the newest installment “cuts back on the VC grind, and provides a deep, satisfying game of basketball for new and old fans alike.” You can read the review in its entirety by heading here. First Was A Xbox Series X Fridge, Now A Fan Has Created A Minifridge For The Next-Gen Console

It was just at the end of October that Microsoft fully embraced the jokes and memes of the Xbox Series X’s appearance and announced the firm would be giving away a refrigerator that takes after the likeness of the system’s design. While there has been several images that offer the idea of the device being a functioning fridge, the firm went the extra mile and worked to make the fantasy a reality. Now taking inspiration from that and incorporating a closer to scale version of the next-generation console, one fan created a minifridge just in time for the release of Microsoft’s latest hardware. YouTuber Mundo Yakara Colombia uploaded a video recently sharing his journey to creating the miniature fridge which required more than 100 hours of labor to complete. You can watch the footage of the Xbox Series X minifridge in the video below: While the outcome of the piece does look to be as legitimate as the refrigerator that Microsoft was handing to one lucky fan last week, it is surprising once realizing that this Xbox Series X minifridge is a DIY project. From the size to the mirroring design and even the green lights within, it is worth giving the YouTuber some credit for creating this from memes passed around online. As mentioned, the Xbox Series X alongside the Xbox Series S are officially out, and with that comes benefits for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate owners. For console at least, users can now enjoy EA Play for free for no additional cost. You can read the full list of games that will be offered through the service by heading here.
