Running off of the fumes from Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter which release predating back to 2016, it was due for a new game from the California-based developer at some point. More excitingly, the unnamed project receive a surprise announcement back in June 2020 at the PlayStation 5 showcase – revealing Solar Ash. While not much was elaborated on the core details of the project at the time, Solar Ash was featured to be an open-world adventure which broke from the two-dimensional elements recognized with the team’s first release years ago. Now in a new trailer at CES 2021, the coming game is said to arrive right at the start of the summer. In the subtext at the end of the trailer, it reads “Solar Ash: June 2021”. Such as Luminous Productions’ Project Athia now slated to hit shelves later in January 2022. At CES 2021 tonight, Sony Interactive Entertainment presented a brief, 30-second PlayStation 5 promotional trailer which issued new details on coming marketed software for the next-generation console. Among the handful or more games featured, it was revealed that Neostream’s Little Devil Inside is set to arrive sometime in July 2021. “Little Devil Inside: July 2021,” the concluding segment of the trailer reads in the subtext illustrated. Interesting enough, it does come as a surprise for the title as its showcase predating back to June 2020 did not issue a release date. Other featured games like BlueTwelve Studio’s Stray was projected for 2021 and now learning the game is arriving in October later this year, in fact. With the game being marketed for Sony, the title would not be available on competing retail consoles for its first year, presumably. “A release for PS5/PS4 and PC is our top priority with other console platforms to follow after the exclusivity period expires,” the developer pens in an update post on its Kickstarter. The new information comes from the latest PlayStation 5 promotional trailer presented at Sony’s press conference during CES 2021. But, of course, there is still plenty that is addressed for other exciting projects for PlayStation 5’s menu of diverse software. In that, it is revealed that luminous Productions’ Project Athia is set to ship in January 2021. It was quite the surprise to learn that GhostWire: Tokyo despite the strong relationship between Bethasda & Microsoft would result with the Tango Gameworks project to be a unique release for PlayStation in its first year of launch. Of course, this came well before the acquisition of the game’s publisher which took place in September later that all. But despite the pretense that the title would abandon its exclusive ties to Sony Interactive Entertainment after finding new ownership, it was later found out not to be the case. In an interview with Bloomberg in response to the publisher’s acquisition, Xbox lead Phil Spencer spares that the deal will be honored. And still with the game being a marketed game for PlayStation 5, it is no surprise the when new information surfaces in a PlayStation trailer. The game after receiving backing from Annapurna Interactive went into heavy development and resulted with the game being a marketed title for the PlayStation 5. Officially presented at the PlayStation 5 showcase back in June, the game instantly grabbed thousands as the title crosses dystopic cyberpunk streets and the feline anatomy as you control a cat in the new game. While most of the game is still an enigma for how the experience will be structure, it is certain the game will be arriving in 2021. Although the game was initially scheduled to release for holiday 2020, the release date happened to be an unfortunate overshot for developer Ember Labs announcing its delay for Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Back in September, the developer pressed that despite the progress made on the project, hardships became more overwhelming deeming a new release date for the game is needed. At the time, it was disclosed that Kena: Bridge of Spirits would be scheduled to release sometime in Q1 2021. But, no further details were provide to include an approximate understanding as for when the title will launch. But given how broad of a timeframe the first financial quarter will be for the coming year, a new update has emerged on the game. Although it does not provide an exact date, it is understood that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be releasing in March this year. CES 2021 Promo For PlayStation 5 Reveals Capcom’s Pragmata Now Releasing In 2023
While Capcom is most likely wrapping up on the development for the very anticipated Resident Evil 8, it should be recognized that another engrossing property is also underway. Unlike a new entry from Capcom’s array of recognized franchises, this is an entirely new intellectual property on the way. The topic point being Pragmata, a new project set to release uniquely for next-generation hardware. Predating back to June 2020, Sony Interactive Entertainment as part of the PlayStation 5 showcase closed the show by unveiling Pragmata to the world. And while the game was presented during a PlayStation-marketed livestream, Capcom did state a Xbox Series X version is also being conjured for a simultaneous release. However, in a new promotional video featured by Sony during its press conference for CES 2021, the firm does issue an update on Pragmata. Now, the title is scheduled to release in 2023. Bayonetta 3 Development Update Told To Be “Going Great”, Director Hideki Kamiya Tells
For the ongoing forecast regarding PlatinumGames long-awaited sequel Bayonetta 3, it is uncertain where exactly he game is in its development phase. Since the game’s announcement predating back to The Game Awards in 2017, the Japanese game studio has provided little detail as to the state of the title since. And with that, fans are dying to receive any information on the title. Of course, this later lead to the legendary “well into development” update that PlatinumGames’ studio director Hideki Kamiya issued. But directly, that does not answer questions from dire fans patiently waiting for the new game. But while much is still not said on the game, PlatinumGames once again leaves yet another vague statement in regards to the project. In concluding 2020, Hideki Kamiya leaves a similar statement once again which is translated by Gematsu. Most noted, Kamiya once again relays that Bayonetta 3 is still progressing to the studio’s expectations. But, of course, there is no definitive information to reveal more than what is already known about the title. Regardless, it is still reassuring the game is in a good state as worded by PlatinumGames despite how little is said about the game. Noted, Kamiya also commented on one project underway: Project G.G.. In that, he explains that while the project is in the early phase of development – the game is finally picking up traction after its announcement back in spring 2020. The title stands to be part of PlatinumGames initiative on transitioning to a fully independent developer. Elsewhere previously, PlatinumGames did press that Bayonetta 3 is pursuing new ambitions this time around. Nintendo Switch Reported To Outsell Combined Units For Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, And PlayStation 5 In 2020
For the Nintendo Switch, it is no beating around the bush to understand the impact of the console for the video game industry. While talks are currently centered around the transition to the next-generation with Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S, that does not halt the progress of the Nintendo Switch. In fact, it was projected the system would still be a top seller leaving 2020. Leading up to the holiday season, Mat Piscatella, NPD Group analyst, predicted that the Nintendo Switch would be the top seller for holiday 2020. Not only for the continued success of the system, but also based on the limited supply for the next-generation systems shipping in November as well. But now, it looks that Nintendo Switch surpasses more than the biggest commercial overhaul for the year. According to Gamesindustry.biz head Christopher Dring on Twitter, he discloses Nintendo Switch outsold all competing hardware combined. In the tweet, Dring elaborates that the Nintendo Switch when combining sold units for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 still overtakes its competitors. However, while the claim is most likely true, Dring does not supply an accurate model to reveal how many units were purchased in 2020. While not a big surprise, it was reported that Nintendo Switch already dominated the console hardware race back in July. According to NPG Groups Mat Piscatella once again, he issues that Nintendo Switch is already the top-selling system for the year after just reaching the halfway point for 2020. GTA V’s Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 Versions To Use Red Dead Redemption II’s Updated RAGE Engine, Known Insider Suggests
What seemed to be ages ago was the PlayStation 5 showcase. The first viewing that took place in June 2020 introduced anticipated next-generation console owners the newest lineup of games set to hit the system when it drops later that holiday. And without a surprise, Sony Interactive Entertainment welcomed Grand Theft Auto V to be the first game at the livestreamed presentation. Found out new structs that were added with the recent update relating to the standalone version and one of them is “rage::fwuiMessageBase”, which is from RDR2’s RAGE version […] However, it could just be that the UI would utilize RDR2’s base code, while the rest remains the same. Ultimately, it is gathered that elements such as volumetric lighting, high quality texture work, and even accurate global illumination might be incorporated for Grand Theft Auto V on the newest consoles. The insider does clarify that the new version would simply operate on the base code for the latest build of the engine, so no upgrades from Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to be found for Grand Theft Auto V.
