Disintegration Studio V1 Interactive Announces Team To Shut Down
While Halo originally debuted roughly two decades ago and spanning across generations of Xbox with prominent sequels to follow its trail, developers that originally kick started the franchise primarily moved on from the IP. Although some are currently involved with Halo Infinite, like Joseph Staten, others either developed Destiny as Bungie left development or moved on to their own ventures. For the sake of one particular Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto, he most recently delivered Disintegration leading V1 Interactive. However, the game was met with average reception and did not meet what many viewed to be a potential competitor to Destiny. In fact, the studio back in November officially shut off the multiplayer component for Disintegration. Now on Monday, V1 Interactive announces that the studio will be closing its doors. Less than a year since the arrival of Disintegration, the team will be no longer. In a separate tweet, Marcus Lehto had this to share on the announcement: “At V1, our priority has been to the wellbeing of our employees. We’ve been transparent with them about the state of things for months and are making this decision now so they still have ample time to search for new jobs while being supported by our studio.” It is yet another upsetting view to see as a firm with very much potential to kick off a franchise is no longer operating. Even with legacy teams that stand behind individuals that are responsible for namely series, this is certainly not the first of its kind. Back in May 2018, Bosskey Productions’ lead Cliff Bleszinski, responsible for Gears of War, shared his firm would be closing up after its sour performance. Enough so that impatient fans conjured an alleged Xbox Showcase that would take place in March – in which Microsoft later disclosed to not be true. Microsoft Wants To Pursue Subscription-free Route For xCloud, Phil Spencer Reveals
To Microsoft, cloud streaming is to be handled alike its other entities in the video game market: another point of entry for players to access games within the Xbox ecosystem. Currently, there are three ways to do so through console, PC, or xCloud. With the first two already prominent in the industry, xCloud is more malleable for users to access outside of conventional means. And Microsoft is aware of the potential the platform can reach. In the past, Xbox lead Phil Spencer has referenced streaming for console and PC – referencing that demos can implement the feature without requiring to download the client. But even more, Spencer also signals to gaming without tangible hardware. In that, he did entertain to the idea of a streaming stick for xCloud which can be inserted directly into any television; similar to a Google Chromecast. Another trait that Google inhabits with its iteration of streaming entertainment is Stadia. The service since last April offers a free tier which welcomes users to purchase games and stream at standard 1080p, 30 frames per second. Similarly, Microsoft wants to follow that path in regards to its in-house xCloud platform. The mix of xCloud and Game Pass I think really creates a unique opportunity for us. Its an easy way for people to try gaming – to try high-end console gaming for the first time and that’s what we’re seeing more and more of and its very exciting seeing people […] more and more people we see on xCloud now who don’t own a console and don’t own a gaming PC and our long-term aspiration is to make xCloud a great way for new gamers to come into the ecosystem. Now, we want to give people the ability to buy. We’ve talked about that. We don’t want to make it just about the subscription because we know certain people want to be able to buy their games and still play them via the cloud. So they get that convenience feature of being connected to their library. There’s so much opportunity as we’re looking at new screens that we can bring xCloud to. It opens up massive device categories that we don’t even really think about today in terms of where these games can show up. Phil Spencer, Executive Vice President of Gaming Looking ahead for xCloud already, Microsoft is planning to work in support for the service through a web-based application which will apply to both PC as well as iOS. The two platforms are said to expect full-on integration by spring time within the coming weeks now. Elsewhere recently, Microsoft incidentally welcomed the first phase of what will later be xCloud on Xbox systems through its indoctrination of Microsoft Edge Chronium. In extension to that, it is also suggested that Stadia can also be accessed through this as well. You can read the full report by heading here. Do you use xCloud yet or now? xCloud is currently available for Android-enabled devices.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Tells GTA V To Face Standalone Release Similar To Red Dead Redemption II Dividing Story & Online
While Rockstar Games remain a fairly limited developer in terms of its releases this past console generation, the firm continued to benefit greatly from its continued success with Grand Theft Auto V as a live service. The team pursued the route of free periodic content funneled into the 2013 release and was met with exponential growth in its player base alongside ranking the top selling title for the 2010s according to NPD Group. Similarly, the developer aims to do the same for Red Dead Redemption II as well. But, the team this time around issues a new approach for users that want to jump right into the multiplayer: a standalone release. Yes, Red Dead Online is available separate from its single player component. Opening a new opportunity for direct influence on the market without the consumer required to purchase the entire suite. And already, the firm plans to offer a parallel experience with Grand Theft Auto V. Take-Two Interactive previously told GTA Online will be a standalone experience for free later in mid 2021 unique to PlayStation followed by other platforms. Now, the firm reiterates that the new approach is coming thanks to the title’s overarching presence on the market. “As you sell that many units, you will at some point arrive at the conclusion that you’ve saturated for purchasing the title,” Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two Interactive CEO tells during a conversation during the Morgan Stanley conference – transcribed by GameSpot. At that point you’re willing to experiment with the possibility that maybe there is another way to bring people into the online experience. Make it super-low friction, low price point. Sure, you don’t have access to the original single-player experience, but you do have access to an online world. Our view is perhaps that’s a different market and that’s a way to expand the player base. The statement from Zelnick happens to echo what is already at play for Red Dead Redemption II. Players can find a direct entrance point to the meat of the experience without having to bear the burden of purchasing the entire package. However, Zelnick fails to leave out when fans can expect this to be executed for Grand Theft Auto V later this year. Zelnick elsewhere during his time at the conference also comments on the coming remaster for Grand Theft Auto V. Applying both to the story & multiplayer, the new version for PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S is insisted to further push the boundaries for the latest consoles alike Grand Theft Auto V did previously when new to preceding systems. Even more, Zelnick goes on to comment on his support for pricing games at $70. In favor of titles released under Take-Two Interactive, Zelnick explains that titles are evaluated for the increased price tag and is only deemed if enough content is parallel to a larger price. You can read the full report by heading here. Are you planning to pick up a standalone version of GTA Online or now? Take-Two Interactive Reaffirms Next-Gen Version For GTA V, References To Complement Capabilities Of Latest Consoles
Looking at Grand Theft Auto V, the game remains one of the most sold installments in the history of the industry. The 2013 title which arrived initially on PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 ended the past decade as the #1 best selling game besting close to a dozen Call of Duty entries issued by Activision. The game entering the generation Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC was another milestone that fed its success and that does not stop there surely. Rockstar Games previously announced that Grand Theft Auto V is making way for both PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S later in 2021. So if you are still somehow not in the loop, you can experience the critically-acclaimed title on the latest console hardware. Cleverly, Take-Two Interactive, parent company of the series’ developer, pressed that GTA Online will be a free experience in the halfway mark of this year. What is still an enigma of the coming port for the newest consoles is how this version will differentiate to its predecessors. One claim tells that Rockstar Games will incorporate the same RAGE Engine version used in Red Dead Redemption II which does excite many returning fans. But, that statement has yet to be verified as of reporting. But while we wait, Take-Two Interactive does comment that Grand Theft Auto V is to deliver a new ground-breaking iteration on the 2013 title when it arrives to the new fleet of consoles later this year. The following statement was transcribed from The Sun which comes from a recent conversation at the Morgan Stanley conference. We’ve done differently than the competition – we don’t just port titles over, we actually take the time to do the very best job we can making the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we’re launching it on. So, we improve the technology, we upgrade the visuals, and we make performance enhancements. And that’s why I think our remastered titles typically do so well. We’ve done great with the Mafia series, for example, and Grand Theft Auto [V] is now heading into its third generation which is incredible. It was a standard-bearer when it was launched, it continued to be the standard-bearer in the second generation, we’ll see how Grand Theft Auto does in the next generation. Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two Interactive CEO If the comment from Zelnick is to hold some foundation, it does appear to be in favor of the rumor in regards to the entirely new updated engine for Grand Theft Auto V. Zelnick reinforces his statement by telling,” Obviously, I’m confident that Rockstar is going to deliver just a great experience, but you can’t do that if you’re just doing a simple port.” Elsewhere during his time speaking at the Morgan Stanley conference, Zelnick does also comment that on games expecting a $70 price tag. Previously supporting the increased pricing in the past, Zelnick further elaborates on his idea for why games, at least from Take-Two Interactive, are in favor for more than the traditional $60.
