Techland Asks For Fans To Be Patient In New Developer Update For Dying Light 2, Leaves 2021 Release Window

In the past week, developer Techland remains to be in the spotlight in regards to its coming game, Dying Light 2. The mentioned sequel for those familiar has not been met with an update in well over a year now and fans are beginning to get impatient as to where the game is or when it is scheduled to arrive. Thankfully, the development team told that a developer update will be taking place this week. Following the presentation’s announcement, Techland did clarify on its behalf the long wait for Dying Light 2. Part of that is because of the well in advance announcement of the game which is the result of a longer than usual gap for its release. “The definition of a dev hell requires the game to not make any development progress, while DL2 keeps moving forward, we announced the game too early,” the team responds to one users in a tweet. Now on Wednesday, March 17, Techland finally released the developer update and reads some of the nasty comments impatient fans left while in this stretched out wait for Dying Light 2. You can watch the footage in the video below: However, that is not all that Techland covers in the video. Additionally, Techland also tells that it is not ready to properly showcase new footage for the game just yet, but teases some new snippets from the approaching project. But ultimately the Polish developer asks that its fans be just a little bit more patient until the team is ready to share more. Also, Techland closes the video to poke at the fact that Dying Light 2 is now aimed to arrive in 2021. However, the developer does not press what platforms the game will be on. So it is not clearly understood if Dying Light 2 will arrive on the promised Xbox One & PlayStation 4 machines or uniquely to the latest iterations alongside PC, of course. Just Cause Mobile Gets Official Announcement With New Cinematic Trailer

While publisher Square Enix in most recent events is recognized for the ground-breaking release that is Final Fantasy VII Remake on PlayStation 4, the Japanese firm is looking to tap into another market unattached to the living room. In that, the firm is aiming to make a stronger presence in mobile gaming. Already, Square Enix proves to be in pursuit for the audience with the announcements of Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier & Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis both which were revealed last month. Looking ahead for the scheduled Square Enix Presents showcase, it is suspected that the publisher would continue this new campaign for mobile releases with some announcements to take the spotlight. And just that occurred as the firm unveiled a new Space Invaders augmented reality project in collaboration with Taito Corporation to bring to life. Additionally, Square Enix does not stop there. In that, the publisher also announces a new game for smart phones, Just Cause Mobile. Darkwater is a group made up of ex-Black Hand military forces from overseas that are now a major threat to The Agency across the globe. “As a new recruit of Firebrand, day one starts off with a major attack on the base – one that the player narrowly escapes alive. Square Enix Montreal Reveals Space Invaders AR Mobile Game

Coming from Japanese publisher Square Enix, the firm issued a self-named livestreamed presentation will take place on Thursday, March 18. The event titled ‘Square Enix Presents’ is a showcase in which the company will feature new announcements from namely franchises like Life is Strange, Marvel’s Avengers, and Tomb Raider. Already following the showcase going live, some of the bombastic announcements already flooded the airwaves with the approaching release, Life is Strange: True Colors. Not to mention the returning rework of the titular, inaugural release with Life is Strange Remastered Collection: the bundle is said to include Deck Nine’s Life is Strange: Before the Storm as well. Those that pick up the Ultimate Edition of True Colors will receive the latter collection. Now in a separate announcement on one of Taito Corporation’s most namely franchises, Square Enix reveals a new mobile experience for Space Invaders. Black Panther: War For Wakanda Expansion Announced For Marvel’s Avengers, Slated For Fall 2021

Looking at Marvel’s Avengers, the direction the game is heading is surely questionable thanks to the unimpressive launch when the title shipped back in September 2020. For one, the release is to implement a season pass system which is accustomed for most games. However, it was clarified that the initiative will be for each playable super hero. And if that was not enough, the losses for the game are even more eye-opening. In that, it was reported that Marvel’s Avengers leaves Square Enix at a loss of over 60 million dollars since the game’s shipping and dropping of its playerbase shortly after. But, there are some exciting plans ahead for the title. One is the game arrives to PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S officially on Thursday, March 18. As for content wise, there is a promised Spider-Man add-on which is said to arrive later in 2021. But, that is only unique to PlayStation owners. In a new trailer uploaded, Crystal Dynamics presses on the next Avenger arriving to the game – Black Panther. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below: Titled ’Black Panther: War for Wakanda’, the coming expansion for Marvel’s Avengers is said to arrive in the latter parts of 2021 – presuming sometime in the fall. “Black Panther and the War for Wakanda are coming to Marvel’s Avengers along with Klaw, the Wakandan Jungle Biome, new enemies, and much more,” the description for the reveal trailer hints at. Elsewhere from Crystal Dynamics, the developer also announced Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy which releases on March 18 as well. Looking at Thursday this week, publisher Square Enix already laid out anticipation for its coming Square Enix Presents showcase as developer Dontnod Entertainment issued that the next major entry for Life is Strange is set to take place sometime during the livestreamed show. In that, it was revealed that Deck Nine Games will be handling development on a new side entry, Life is Strange: True Colors. However, that was not the only announcement for the Life is Strange franchise. Even more, Square Enix featured that a reworking of the original Life is Strange + Life is Strange: Before the Storm will both be arriving in one compilation: Life is Strange Remastered Collection. Deck Nine Reveals Life Is Strange: True Colors, Scheduled Release For September 10th

Just last week, Square Enix broke the news that the Japanese publisher would be hosting its own livestreamed showcase. Dubbed ‘Square Enix Presents’, the show was told to feature a plethora of announcements in regards to upcoming release Outriders from People Can Fly, and update on the 25th anniversary for Tomb Raider, and new details on the next release for the Life is Strange franchise. Notably, the announcement came with the notion that developer Dontnod Entertainment would be dealing the unveiling. Already, the French developer issued to be handling more than a handful of releases in the coming years as per a interview last year. However, upon the reveal, Life is Strange: Before the Storm team Deck Nine Games is to be responsible for the new game. Announcing Life is Strange: True Colors, the game is another spin-off release for the series and will arrive as one major release rather than the traditional episodic structure previous releases were met with. Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy Launches Today For Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5

To the future of Tomb Raider, it is currently glowing with the progress made in the entertainment realm of things. In that, the second entry in the theatrical series starring Alicia Vikander is already finished and already in post-production. However, the motion picture is undetermined as to when it will arrive as its 2021 box office release was pulled back in fall 2020. Despite the upset for fans of the first film that released in 2018, there is a plus for Tomb Raider fans elsewhere. In that, the franchise is reportedly expecting an anime adaptation as per a report from The Hollywood Reporter. Even more, The Witcher prequel “Blood Origin” executive producer Tasha Huo is told to be responsible to write for the coming anime. In recent reports, users uncovered listings for Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy on both the Microsoft Store & later on PlayStation Store; presumably to be revealed at the scheduled Square Enix Presents showcase for Thursday. And as you might guess, the bundle launches today. Project Athia Gets Official Name: Forspoken, 2022 Release Window Scheduled

This past June upon learning the definition of next-generation leaps in the video game industry, Square Enix & Luminous Productions revealed Project Athia. Unsure as for the game itself, the developer showcase a true breath in the right direction for a new standard in console gaming. Noted, the game will be a unique, timed release on PlayStation 5 ahead of competing platforms – Xbox really. But, details did surface outside of the singular announcement that took place at the start of the summer, In that, Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda spared that Project Athia will be treading closer to an open-world experience more so outside of the one instance featured in its reveal. Another namely instance came from the PlayStation 5 launch trailer in November which issued that Project Athia will remain a exclusive to PlayStation hardware for roughly two years. However, it is unsure as to when the deal begins at the time of reporting with no available release window present. Following, Sony also issued that the game would arrive later in 2022 as per a CES promotional video for the latest console. However, Sony Interactive Entertainment later retracted the original footage and removed the listing for Project Athia’s 2022 launch window. Regardless, Luminous Productions during Thursday’s Square Enix Presents showcase unveiled the official name for Project Athia: Forspoken.
