Recently, THQ Nordic subsidiary Koch Media announced to be collaborating with Summer Game Fest to present a new announcement from the publishing conglomerate. However, the only tease to the reveal is a link for weknowsomethingyoudontknow.com that redirects you to a webpage that runs a Twitch stream that is expected to make the announcement later this month. However, it was anticipated that Koch Media would use this window to showcase a new title from Deep Silver’s growing repertoire. Among the bevy, namely franchise many are eager to see return includes Saints Row, Metro, Dead Island, and TimeSpiltters: all that Rectify Gaming even entertained to potentially be featured in the coming days. But, publisher Deep Silver went to acknowledge the heat from the flame and on Twitter extinguished any stoking before it grew out of proportion. While upsetting, it sure is not the first instance that respected firms denounced any hype surrounding a game prior to an event going live. Back in 2019 following the initial report of the next Saints Row game entering development, game studio Volition announced it will not be present at that year’s Gamescom with the aforementioned title. But, that does not completely wipe away all of our speculation. While 4A Games’ Metro is told to be absent, the developer could still be present. While the multiplayer project is said to be in works with Saber Interactive to work on the title, 4A Games also disclosed ambitions to make a new IP altogether. Report: XCOM-style Marvel Game & Borderlands Spin-Off Underway By 2K, Says Industry Insider

Amid the rising anticipation for this coming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) since its absence last year in 2020, fans are growing ecstatic as to what new announcements are underway. And while there is a greater understanding in terms of which publishers & companies are presenting what respectively, there is still heavy speculation alongside scattered rumors that tell other games are also in the pipeline to be announced. In one list of leaks from Reddit user u/swine_flu_greg, there appears to be an eye-opening amount of games underway from publisher 2K. However, some appears to contradict previous denouncements. One being the alleged Borderlands spin-off: previously, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford told the rumor to be inaccurate as the team is not working on the game nor plans to outsource the aforementioned project to a separate studio. However, Bloomberg Tech’s Jason Schreier goes on to indicate that the list is true – including the segment regarding the supposed Borderlands title. While Schreier does confirm the list to be genuine and legitimate, he does go to disclose that not all mentions will be present at E3. Furthermore, he does also spare his excitement for the alleged Marvel XCOM title that is in development by Firaxis whilst implying the announcement to take place this month. The list also goes on to offer a overview for a new possibly from Hanger 13 title, which reads as such: “New action game, seems to be in really early development. Logo looks similar to the Fallout-Logo. No final name yet. Source described it as ‘Cthulhu meets Saints Row’. Game looked pretty unfinished in the trailer. Sadly, my source didn’t know which studio is developing this title. I think it could be Hangar13, as they had a leaked contract last year that stated that they are working on a ‘open-world sci-fi title with supernatural elements’.” Schreier while confident in the list does not show certainty for the cover athlete for NBA 2K22. But, he does cite that “I should add that I have no idea who’s on NBA 2k22’s cover, but it’s probably safe to assume that part is correct since the rest is.” Recently, Schreier also discloses plans for an upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy game is likely to be revealed by Square Enix at E3. On Thursday, the Electronic Software Association (ESA) revealed the full schedule for this year’s E3. As to when 2K is to present, you can expect the firm to take stage on June 14 with its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, scheduled for the date. You can read the full report by heading here. Electronic Arts To Delist A Handful Of Legacy Need For Speed Titles This Year

As many are familiar, the Need for Speed series published by Electronic Arts spans across a platitude of systems for more than two decades now. Especially with the release of Need for Speed Heat in 2019, the series now lives beyond a quarter of a century old now. But, while the franchise continues to earn its stripes, the previous titles of before are inevitable to be lost in time after being online for so long. Specifically, five Need for Speed titles in total are being delisted from respected digital store and any online capabilities will be severed following the decision: Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed and Need for Speed The Run. On May 31, the option to access in-game stores were already closed alongside access to purchase aforementioned titles. This is in preparation for the retirement of the online services for these titles which will happen on August 31st 2021. Until that date, you will be able to play and race your friends (and rivals) online. From September 1st 2021 onwards, you can still play the games and use the respective offline features of these titles. Decisions to retire games are never made easy, but we are now shifting gears to focus on the future of Need for Speed. The development teams and operational staff have put a lot of time and passion into the development, creation, release and upkeep of the game over the years, and we love to see you play. But the number of players has come to a point where it’s no longer feasible to continue the work behind the scenes required to keep Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed and Need for Speed The Run up and running. We hope you have gotten many victories, satisfying drifts, moments of friendly rivalry, and hours of joy over the last few years out of these games. Of course, Criterion Games and the greater Electronic Arts is still ambitious to continue offering new releases as time unravels. Currently, the developer is occupied with assisting development for this year’s Battlefield release. However, publisher CEO Andrew Wilson discloses the firm’s dedication to the franchise still remains intact. “Need for Speed will absolutely be a meaningful part of our future.” Previously, we witnessed a similar fate apply to Ubisoft legacy titles as well. In that, games such as Rainbow Six Vegas, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Ghost Recon Future Soldier are just a few that faced the same outcome as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
