Idris Elba Confirms Casting As Knuckles For Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Movie

In terms of excitement for the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise, fans are still awaiting the newest game in the series. During the first Sonic Central held earlier this year, Sega unveiled a teaser for what is the new game scheduled to arrive later in 2022. Shortly after, a mistakenly posted press release shared that the new game is to be titled ‘Sonic Rangers’ which coincides with claims made regarding the game. Additionally, Team Sonic head Takashi Iizuka when speaking to Sonic Stadium shares hopes to make an impactful release similar to Sonic Adventure, he explained. But in the meantime, there is also excitement brewing for the sequel of Sonic the Hedgehog which hit theaters last February. So far, Paramount Studios confirmed the film is to release in April 2022 next year. However, no other details for the follow-up film was issued since its announcement aside from nods towards Tails being in the motion picture; a post-credits teaser & hinting from the sequel’s announcement. But now, actor Idris Elba announces he will be portraying Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Previously, images from the set for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 already indicated as such that both Knuckles and Tails will be in the second movie. In that, the crew used props of the characters to indicate placement for when rendering the characters. But now, it is confirmed Knuckles the echidna is to be in the movie. However, it is unsure who is to be casted for Tails as of writing. Elsewhere prior, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 director Jeff Fowler revealed that filming has already concluded for the second film back in late June. Godfall: Fire & Darkness Expansion Arrives, PlayStation 4 Version Available

Since the game’s announcement back at The Game Awards in December 2019, Counterplay Games’ Godfall was presented to be a showcased title for the launch of the PlayStation 5. While not entirely exclusive to the platform as a PC launch is also arriving simultaneously, Sony Interactive Entertainment did use the title to showcase some of the first renders for the new system’s packaging at the time. However, it was inevitable that the game would possibly come to more platforms later on. Then, it was discovered that the game would be a console exclusive to PlayStation 5 for an entire six months – implicating more systems would gain support soon after. And that showed to be the case as the game was later listed for PlayStation 4 through a finding on Pans European Game Information (PEGI). Now on Tuesday, Godfall arrives to PlayStation 4. At the same time, the new expansion for the game ‘Fire & Darkness’ also ships for all supported platforms. So far for Xbox Game Pass in terms of new additions – at least for the month of August – anticipated titles running off from late July such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, The Ascent, and Cris Tales grow excitement around the service. Then upon arriving to this month continues the momentum of excitement as Hades, Katamari Damacy: Reroll, and Art of Rally makes way for the service too. However, there is plenty more to make an appearance come later this year: presumably from the held /Twitchgaming & ID@Xbox Showcase this week.
