Horizon Forbidden West Release Date Revealed For February 2022
Since the announcement of Horizon Forbidden West, the definition of the game has shifted greatly from what Sony Interactive Entertainment initially marketed the title to be. At the time of its unveiling, it was a featured release for PlayStation 5. However, it was later pressed that the Guerrilla Games sequel will instead be a cross-generation title for both PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5. However, not all is bad. Developer Guerrilla Games later went on to press that there is emphasis on the last-generation version, but, the PlayStation 5 format of Horizon Forbidden West will find some advantages that make it a fulfilling release on the new hardware. Amid the growing excitement for its presumed release later this fall, it was shortly squandered when Bloomberg Tech’s Jason Schreier later indicated the release being pushed into 2022. Since, neither Guerrilla Games nor Sony Interactive Entertainment addressed the matter. But during Gamescom Opening Night Live, it was revealed that the game is shipping later in February as Guerrilla Games verified the choice to push the game’s release. It’s been a few months since we shared the first Horizon Forbidden West gameplay experience during State of Play, where we showed you a glimpse of where Aloy’s journey will take her next and showcased exciting new elements like swimming, free climbing, expanded melee combat, and more. At that time, Horizon Forbidden West had just passed a major milestone and we had entered the final stage of development; on track, but a bit uncertain if we’d be able to polish the game to the level of quality we strive for. It’s no surprise that our teams were hugely impacted by the global pandemic; we have been adjusting to new workflows, protocols, and other challenges, while keeping our teams safe and prioritizing a healthy work/life balance. While the decision to move the game’s launch to 2022 certainly wasn’t easy, we’d like to take a moment to thank all of our fans for their unwavering support; we know how much you’ve been looking forward to reuniting with Aloy and her friends, continuing her story, and exploring a new and more dangerous world. Your passion, fan art, cosplay, virtual photography, and videos have meant the world to all of us. Mathjis de Jonge, Guerrilla Games’ Game Director Additionally, Guerrilla Games upon scheduling the release date for Horizon Forbidden West for next year, the team also goes on to address that it will be launching pre-orders later on September 2nd. In the meantime, PlayStation 5 owners can take advantage of a new 60 frames per second free update that launched on Wednesday. Now with Horizon Forbidden West being officially slated to arrive this coming February, that leaves one less title to await for a planned launch. Previously, Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed that both God of War: Ragnarok & Gran Turismo 7 will both be shipping in 2022 and with PlayStation 4 versions respectively. In the initial scribe made for the coming expansions planned to drop for the series, Beyond Light is set to deliver in 2020 as it later did in November at the time. Additionally, it pressed The Witch Queen and Lightfall to ship in 2021 and 2022 respectively. However, Bungie in a later update pressed that due to stresses of the COVID-19 pandemic from the switch of work culture to work-at-home, The Witch Queen would not ship until 2022 and presumably the following expansion to be arriving until 2023, of course. But, Bungie also met with other promises in the meantime. During that, the team did initiate the first steps of full-on cross-play earlier this year so far. Last month, Bungie shared a dedicated livestream will be held on August 24th with new details on the future of the series. For the first time ever, you’ll have the option to turn up the difficulty and sweat it out through Legendary Mode. Your extra effort won’t just be for bragging rights: Choosing the road less traveled will earn you powerful gear and extra rewards. “ New additions make its way to Destiny 2 as Bungie unveils that crafting will be making its debut for the 2017 release. In that, weapons will be a scarcity for the new setting for The Witch Queen and making your own arsenal is the most efficient approach. Wasteland 3: Cult of the Holy Detonation Add-On Revealed
“Co-op is everywhere lately. What used to be a genre reserved strictly for beat em ups has grown and expanded to almost every style of game possible. Great co-op, takes a games core concept and embellishes it when another player plays with that tool set,” our critic David Rodriguez gave for his reception of Wasteland 3 during its release. “Wasteland 3 has excellent co-op, and it’s a not just well implemented, it’s been my preferred way of exploring this fantastic new entry in this classic series.” Since the game’s inception though, developer InXile Entertainment continued to carry this emphasis on a cooperative experience in the long-awaited third game. While little detail is for certain on what the next project will be from the developer, it was later discovered that the team is working on a first-person shooter. Sea Of Thieves Launches Borderlands Crossover Event ‘Mayhem’, Available Now Until September 7th
In the sense that many players already enjoy Sea of Thieves, developer Rare continues to experiment with additions that will make players see more reason to continue playing the live service experience. For one, the game continues to offer free content throughout its lifespan with monthly updates and new periodic season taking its place. But there is also full-on title updates that bring new things to the game. This past June Rare welcomes Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life which featured Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow to the game. The add-on being a free experience for Sea of Thieves owners to take on, game owners joined in by the boat load according to the developer. By the end of June this year, Rare shared that it met the highest number of concurrent users ever – roughly 4.8 million users. During a new announcement from Tuesday’s Xbox Gamescom Livestream, the next event for Sea of Thieves features Gearbox Software’s Borderlands in a new ‘Mayhem’ event that is live now. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below: “Larinna and the Bilge Rats have been working to get pirates co-operating and clearing out threats in recent times, so now it’s time to interject some more traditional Bilge Rat activities: accomplishing tasks through piratical pandemonium! In the Making Mayhem Event, it’s your job to enliven the Sea of Thieves by looting, shooting and blowing things up…” Rare gives for the overview of the event. “Larinna has laid out two flavours of Challenge to let you build Favour with the Bilge Rats: Minor Mayhem Challenges are bite-sized tasks like blasting a shark with a Gunpowder Barrel or torching skeletons with a Firebomb, while Major Mayhem Challenges are more lucrative but demanding acts like looting all the gold piles in a Treasure Vault or tearing through a Tall Tale. Earn enough Favour and you’ll be rewarded with parts of the Mayhem ship set – the envy of looters and shooters the world over!” “Complete Major and Minor Mayhem Challenges to earn Favour with the Bilge Rats. Earn enough Favour and Larinna will reward you with parts of the Mayhem ship set.” This is not the first crossover event with Borderlands for sure.
