Nintendo Switch Online New Subscription Tier Including Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis & Animal Crossing: New Horizons Expansion Arrives October 25

While the Nintendo Switch Online service goes on to issue increments of new titles for both its Nintendo Entertainment System & Super Nintendo Entertainment System virtual libraries, the monthly service is growing redundant in what it offers. Previously, claims went on to state that Nintendo is preparing to ship the service with Game Boy & Game Boy Color titles. However, a later rumor indicated that the bundle is planned to also incorporate titles for Nintendo 64 as well. With the firm missing a new virtual library for 2020, many went to believe the likeliness of the statement at the time to compensate the absence of a new additions. It was during the September Nintendo Direct that Nintendo Switch Online is receiving virtual libraries for Nintendo 64 & Sega Genesis. Recently, Nintendo stated the new games for Nintendo 64 will be running at 60hz for all regions. Now in a new announcement on Friday, Nintendo Switch Online’s new tier is to go live on at the end of the month. As you can read from the statement, the new subscription tier for Nintendo Switch Online includes the new paid DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Happy Home Paradise. On Friday, Nintendo held a Direct presentation for the game which introduced new characters, design options, and the aforementioned paid DLC for the game. Although the well-received Animal Crossing: New Horizons proves to be the game that the world needed at its release, the market also responds in liking the latest entry too. Currently, the 2020 title is sitting at the second most sold title for Nintendo Switch just behind Mario Kart 8: Deluxe as of Nintendo’s latest financial report. But, the game sits to be haltered by new content. It was this past February that the Super Mario Bros. update came to the game adding new in-game items. Atop of growing produce, Gyroids come back in a similar manner which can sprout with new abilities too. Elsewhere in the video, the game receives new peripherals as well. Via the Joy-Con gyro controls, you can perform stretching routines solely through the detachable controllers. Additionally, the improved ‘Camera Pro’ welcomes a first-person view to take ground-level photos now. However, there is more beyond your island. Announcing the Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can orchestrate your own resort and customize every aspect to your preference for vacationers. With that brings more internal decorating options including ceiling décor, kitchen counters, wall partitions, and support pillars. Skul: The Hero Slayer Receives Console Release For Xbox One/PlayStation 4/Nintendo Switch This Month

Although it truly felt longer than it really was, it was just last February where Rectify Gaming did a feature for Skul: The Hero Slayer. At PAX East 2020, we wrote about the game to be “an alternative approach which still has the theme [Rogue-lite] as a basis, but redirects how you would expect the story to be told.” But thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the coverage piece feels years ago when it was hardly two years ago. Since then, developer SouthPAW Games went on to aim for the game’s release in October 2020. However, due to that evident circumstances raised to a global level, the game was delayed. Atop of that, fall 2020 release for consoles was also pushed then. It was in January 2021 that Skul: The Hero Slayer was delivered – at least for PC. Console versions has still yet to arrive. In a new update this week, publisher NEOWIZ alongside SouthPAW Games unveil a new release date for Skul: The Hero Slayer hitting all consoles later this October. New Enhancements On The Way For Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 Versions For Pumpkin Jack later This Month

Although 3D platformers are conceived to be a niché from certain developers, franchises, and even eras at this point, there still remains some influence obtained from previous games that lay heavy on newer projects. Take Pumpkin Jack as solo developer Nicolas Meyssonnier discloses the title to mesh both MediEvil and Jak & Daxter. Of course, the game spins its own tale with its Halloween-set backdrop. Although development kicked off all the way back in 2017, developer Nicolas Meyssonnier continued to work on the game for the following years until 2020. That was in October last year where Meyssonnier went on to ship the game for all major consoles then. Noted, the game despite its timing ahead of the new consoles at the time did not ship a dedicated version. Recently, Nicolas Meyssonnier and Headup Games went on to announced Pumpkin Jack will be delivering a new version for the game to complement the Xbox Series systems and PlayStation 5 platforms. As you can gather, the new improvements further the visual experience of Pumpkin Jack alongside greater performance to the game. With that features ray-tracing elements alongside an increased frame rate to deliver as refresh rate now at 60Hz. Alongside a new resolution to 4K, the most appreciated is that the version is cross-buy for all owners of the game for either PlayStation or Xbox.
