Here Are The Answers For Dr. Eggman In Future Sonic The Hedgehog Movies And What Would Happen If Jim Carrey Retires

When watching 2020’s Sonic the Hedgehog and the latest Sonic the Hedgehog 2 opening this weekend, the biggest question is: what is the lifeblood of this film series? Although the starring blue hedgehog takes up the spotlight majority of the film, some will argue Jim Carrey’s performance either equals or outweighs Ben Schwartz’s rendition of Sega’s most famous mascot. Since the original reveal of the first film, more complaints were weighed heavy on Sonic the Hedgehog rather than Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik. But looking ahead, what is to come for the movie series? So far, Producer Toby Ascher did confirm there will be a greater established “cinematic universe” for Sonic the Hedgehog. However, what about life catching on? Although characters are immortal through the medium, these actors could move on before this finishes. For instance, Jim Carrey when speaking to Access ahead of the premiere for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 mentions he is retiring. While he has yet to officially retire, it is sooner than many fans would hope. It depends – if the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink, that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might. I might continue down the road, but I’m taking a break,” he said. Jim added, “I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life, and I feel like – and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists – I have enough. I’ve done enough. I am enough. More on the matter of if Carrey was to step away from acting, Sonic the Hedgehog producers Ascher & Neal H. Moritz when speaking to IGN this week also gave their input. “Jim Carrey is always a member of the Sonic family and he will always have a place in these movies and TV shows as long as he’d like to be around,” said Ascher explained. “I have a feeling that he loves Robotnik so much that that I won’t think he can walk away from that,” Moritz states before agreeing Carrey’s time as the character could not be replaced. Ultimately the pair does suggest that if Carrey was to retire, a successor is not in their playbook to take his role which nods to the character to be written out for future releases. Interpreting what could come next for the character, Carrey does encourage a fat Dr. Eggman to be his goal for the next movie when talking to Comicbook.com. “Honestly I’ve been lobbying for the fat Eggamn; the big Eggman y’know, kinda thing for a while. But apparently they wanted to show the audience how imperfect my actual body is. I’ve done that now so you never know.” But entertaining what Jeff Fowler would want to do next, he explained to Comicbook.com that he is interested to tackle a Super Smash Bros. movie if given the chance. But, he does acknowledge the amount of lawyers it would take to make that dream a reality. You can read the full report by heading here. Sonic The Hedgehog Director Sheds Interest To Work On Super Smash Bros. Movie

Entertainment currently exists as a new plane for one production to branch into a full-on franchise. So far, Sonic the Hedgehog has proven to be the case with its second film already hitting theater this week. Additionally, the future looks bright for the series as actor James Marsden already signed a multi-film agreement to work on more for a greater established universe later on. From Paramount itself, the firm announced a third movie is already in production. Atop of that Knuckles the Echidna is also receiving a television series to air exclusively on Paramount+ next year. As for other potential releases, Giant Freaking Robot – an outlet that accurately reported on the Knuckles show – now states a Tails movie is in the pipeline too. Other hopes are to branch to other franchises later on. When pressed by Comicbook.com, Sonic the Hedgehog director Jeff Fowler does shares he would be completely invested in working on a Super Smash Bros. movie. Getting Mario and Sonic in the ring, I mean everyone would be kinda dying for that, right? That’s just classic.” He added, “Nothing would make me happier than to just throw all the characters into a battle royale and do a big Smash Bros. thing. That would probably require some work from the lawyers before that could happen.” As of writing, the only Nintendo property underway for the theater is Super Mario planned to release this year. So for the chances of a full-length film is left in obscurity regarding Super Smash Bros. The first Nintendo movie has yet to release let alone an established plan for Super Smash Bros. to hit the box office later on is not certain currently. The other question would be the choice of production: Paramount that worked on Sonic the Hedgehog or Illumination responsible Super Mario? While all is conjecture, Super Mario movie voice actor for Luigi Charlie Day did express interest to tackle a Luigi’s Mansion film. However, there is no concrete evidence encouraging the production to already be underway as of writing. You can read the full report by heading here. Sonic The Hedgehog Producer Confirms Plans For A Crafted “Cinematic Universe” Moving Forward

Who remembers the original announcement for Sonic the Hedgehog? The box office debut for Sega’s most iconic mascot only fueled the narrative on Hollywood’s disconnection to adapt a video game into a full-length film. But after a makeover of the original CGI, fans grew excited for what is to come for the first release. The movie went on to outperform 2019’s Detective Pikachu in the box office. Now with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the way, what is beyond that? Well, Paramount already laid out the coming roadmap. Earlier this year, it was confirmed a third film is already in production. As for what is on the way elsewhere, its all about Knuckles. The red-haired Echidna is to star in his own television series on Paramount+ as Edris Elba will reprise the role. In a new statement from Producer Toby Ascher, a greater universe is in the pipeline. “We’re creating a Sonic cinematic universe, so we knew we were going to add characters, like Tails and Knuckles; new to the films but beloved by gamers all over the world,” he shared with embargos for film reviews leaking. Additionally, Neal H. Moritz, another Producer, shared a similar ambition in a separate statement. “[Sonic 1] was a great experience for us as filmmakers, and as movie lovers. Now, we’re even more excited to expand that world, adding new characters, bigger worlds, a new, incredible journey, and more action and adventure. There are so many places we can go with Sonic.” Recently, Giant Freaking Robot added a new report which supports the greater “cinematic universe” underway for Sonic the Hedgehog. In that, Tails is expected to receive his own full-length picture. Details are still vacant on the production currently. You can read the full report by heading here. Tails Spin-Off Movie Reportedly In The Works At Paramount

As many can gather from headlines and updates across the internet and social media, the next Sonic the Hedgehog movie has hit theaters this week. While the film is still in its opening weekend, the audience response to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 sits at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. But anticipating the greater response from the box office to be another success, looking ahead is certainly bright for the series. Already, actor James Marsden signed a multi-film deal for the Sonic the Hedgehog series. However, Paramount has openly cashed in on the franchise. In that, it announced a third Sonic the Hedgehog movie is in the works. Additionally, it is said that Knuckles is to receive a television series on Paramount+ later in 2023 as well. Recently from Giant Freaking Robot, the outlet reports that is not all on the way. According to sources, Tails is also starring in his own feature. But unlike the emerald hunter Echidna, out two-tailed fox is said to receive a full-length film. The source previously spoke on a live-action Sonic the Hedgehog series which was later corroborated by Paramount for the Knuckles show. As for the consensus of the Tails movie, it is undetermined how it will be approached. More specifically, will it be a box office release in theaters or straight to streaming? Understanding that Sonic the Hedgehog is the main mascot for the series, it is very possible Paramount will ship the Tails film directly to Paramount+ alongside Knuckles TV series. Previously, Giant Freaking Robot also reported on a Call of Duty movie in the works. While details are light on the production, it is said Dwayne Johnson is to star in the picture. In an interview with Men’s Journal, he told the unnamed film is “to bring one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen”. You can read the full report by heading here. Report: State Of Decay Team Leadership Faces New Allegations Of Widespread Worker Negligence And Sexism

During the initial acquisition spree on behalf of Microsoft, many looked towards the worst outcomes from the Xbox company purchasing teams left and right. From developers like Ninja Theory to Obsidian Entertainment, the question is how would the tech giant bully these developers to work on IPs against its creative integrity? Well, that was not the case. From one report on behalf of Double Fine Productions, Microsoft was very hands-off. For the Psychonauts 2 team, Microsoft’s arrangement instead offered a complete 180° for the project it was later revealed. Founder Tim Schafer revealed most if not all boss fights would be absent if not for the new home it was welcomed into. However, the infinite freedom has not proven to be beneficial for all teams. In a new report from Kotaku, a dozen former and current employees at Undead Labs complain about the actions of upper management at the team. Although the workplace is said to be enjoyable for the most part, leadership on the other hand could be worked on if not Microsoft’s distant approach was taken literally. The overall complaint comes to be the sexist remarks and complete dismissal of women in the company. Although there has been a record improvement of opposite sex employees hired and drastic addition of diverse people of color, management at Undead Labs remained to keep its female workers in a chokehold when represented. In contrast, issues ensued following the departure of industry veteran Jeff Strain. Formerly working on StarCraft and Guild Wars, him and some colleagues at the time formed Undead Labs when pitching a zombie MMO project. From one former employee, they shared experiences working with Strain to be unmatched with anyone else. “I’ve never yet in my career experienced anyone who can top Jeff’s ‘rally the troops’ speeches. “That kind of light attracted a wonderful blend of people to Undead Labs, and that kind of culture created a studio where people were excited to build cool things and felt empowered and trusted to do so.” However, the problem grew with production tightening around the sides for additional content for State of Decay 2 post-launch and State of Decay 3. Groups would be put into specific teams to work on mechanics and showcase progress, but also did cut off sight of improving the overall gameplay loop. Every couple of months, after a milestone, teams would be completely broken up and shuffled around into new teams. So there was no consistency with who worked on what system. Another former employee added, “QA would work extremely hard, catch all our bugs, and try to take care of them. But the leadership would ignore their concerns and say things like ‘don’t log multiplayer bugs’ in an attempt to show artificial progress on [State of Decay 3]. […] Milestones consisted of a pile of disjointed features that were less about making a fun video game and more about checking off a list.” But, problems discerning women only swelled overtime as the issue grew out of proportion, sources alleged. “Women’s opinions would be outright rejected, even for extremely basic code or games knowledge. No one would listen to them, even women in director-level positions were outright ignored, talked over, and blamed for problems.” What comes to be more surprising is the addition of Anne Schlosser. Following the welcoming of Philip Holt, her enlistment followed being a human resources professional for other industries even including Microsoft did not leave an impact. “There was a guy on the State of Decay 3 team who was being blatantly sexist, and Anne didn’t do anything about him,” one statement onf Schlosser revealed. Although Holt formed ArenaNet alongside Strain, his actions proved to be malicious towards women in the workspace. “One time, someone publicly called Philip out after he ignored her. This turned into a huge [diversity and inclusion] meeting, where people cried and Philip told us that he was treated unfairly because the issue was public. There was a guy on the State of Decay 3 team who was being blatantly sexist, and Anne didn’t do anything about him. There was a manager of the Tech Art team who was awful that Anne sided with, and lo, nearly the entire tech art team quit. Ultimately, sources told Kotaku that the issue buildup did eventually bring some positivity in summer 2021 where victims realized this became a widespread problem. With Schlosser’s inability to assist in the issue, Microsoft eventually intervened and interviewed different parties and resulted in an abrupt leaving by Schlosser. Microsoft nor Schlosser would comment on the matters when questioned. But, the disorganized team was faced with another obstacle: Microsoft’s expectations. Came summer 2020, the Xbox company expected a trailer for the team’s next project. However, “We didn’t want to announce the game because we didn’t even know what it was at that point,” one unnamed employee told. In total, there were said to be two demos ready before the end of 2021, which we know now never came. “They kept piling on more features for more demos. It was a complete mess. People left and were replaced by juniors. To quote a producer, ‘I’m not an expert at the code or anything, but our systems should be past the prototype stage.’ Even when the experts at code told him, ‘no it’s not even working at all yet,’ they ignored that comment and added more features to the deadline” Amid these issues at Undead Labs, this is not the only team suffering from poorly managed leadership. At The Initiative, a similar culture formed with direction on Perfect Dark remake still in its design phase and most of the weight now with Crystal Dynamics which partnered with the team last year. Halo Community Director Promises Content Inspired By The Halo Television Series To Drop For Halo Infinite

When it comes to Halo content in any form as of recent years, there is a direct parallel between fans on each reception. Currently, this applies to Halo Infinite and the recently airing of the Halo Television Series. On one hand, fans are enjoying both via each medium respectively whilst the latter wishes so much different was implemented instead. For Halo Infinite, the biggest complaint is the promise of post-launch content which as yet to make an appearance nearly half a year later. Additionally, the Paramount+ series largest issue is the direction the show is heading with Master Chief’s identity utilized for the storyline. Despite these complaints, both Halo Infinite alongside the Halo Television Series great numbers of players/viewers during its original inception. Recently, Halo Community Director Brian Jarrard when speaking to The Washington Post explained that the new TV show will eventually bridge its gap with Halo Infinite despite the Silver Timeline being crafted uniquely for a separate medium. We are looking at threads and nods we can bring into ‘Infinite’ because it is a service, and we’ll have the ability to shape and influence experiences and content over time, even though they are technically different universes and timelines. I do think that you’ll see some eventual nods back and forth between the two … to look at ways to pull the show in fun ways. He adds, “The hope is that we see a lot more cross-pollination. ‘You like the show? Check out the game, by the way it’s free to play’”. Jarrard explains that the intention of this initiative is to use the Halo Television Series as an “onboarding” for possible new fans and integrating new content to Halo Infinite from the show will be just the anwer. “We will have some content that is inspired by the show that will be coming out in the game a little bit further down the road,”. The bigger question is the hesitation to do this later down the road. Many would anticipate cross-advertising amid the buildup for new entertainment – not later on down the road. Elsewhere this week, 343 Industries in a Season 2 itinerary post revealed that a Career Progression System is in the works for Halo Infinite’s multiplayer. But from the project still in its “design phase” it is likely we won’t see the effort well beyond Lone Wolves launching next month in May. You can read the full report by heading here. Halo Infinite Season 2 Itinerary Reveals Upcoming Career Progression System In The Works

When discussing the latest release from 343 Industries with Halo Infinite, the topic brings a different connotation to the conversation in contrast to the launch of the game last fall. While originally kicking off on a very good note, the game has went on to feature no direct improvements to the game in terms of the content anticipated to arrive in post-launch. With professional players even leaving games like Apex Legends and Fortnite to play Halo Infinite competitively, it surprised more fans with the similarity the current state of the game offers compared to the initial release. So far, there are two new Arena maps and a new Big Team Battle map on the way in Season 2 – Lone Wolves. But, the promised co-op campaign is said to ship later on than anticipated. However, 343 Industries in the new layout plans for Season 2 has revealed on intriguing feature is in the pipeline: a career progression system. Although Season 2 is not likely to feature this new addition, it is exciting to hear that the team is working to deliver one element to keep players engaged with the online component. “A Career Progression system is in the design phase right now. We want to nail it out of the gate and that’s going to take some time,” 343 Industries highlights in one of its ‘live team responses’. Alike most multiplayer-focused titles, an overall ranking system has been an essential feature for players to acknowledge their time playing. But, Halo Infinite took a bold approach only including a ranking for its battle pass system and ranked matchmaking surprisingly enough. Another acknowledged complaint is the impact player performance makes on receiving experience per match and 343 Industries plans to integrate a system to account for user outcome each game. “Additionally, we know there’s a desire for per-match, which also leverages performance, to plug into this system as well as the Battle Pass. Per-match XP is on the way and will land this year.” The team even presses on the previously promised Halo credits being added to the battle pass for Season 2. “For S2’s Battle Pass, we want to focus on improving the value we provide to the players on both the free and Premium tracks. To do so, the free Battle Pass will contain even more customization content than S1’s – including the Lone Wolves armor core early on the in the track. As for the Premium track, we’ve added Credits as another reward tier and will allow players to earn up to 1000 CR.” Are you excited for some of the changed coming to Halo Infinite?
