Stadia Exclusive Gylt Is Confirmed For Multiplatform Release Sometime In 2023

For Stadia, the platform has a short list of platform exclusives. The roster only shrunk as time progressed. Unit 2 Games Crayta originally launched on the platform unique to the Google service. But, it was later translated to PC. The same can be said for Super Bomberman R Online which arrived as a free-to-play title when dropping multiplatform, but was sold as a premium game on Stadia initially. As for what remains, many question where will Gylt be in the coming months. In that, the game stands to be the most unique release on the platform from developer Tequila Works, but with the official closure of Stadia this January, there was no confirmation if the game will live on elsewhere. But, the team made a statement this week. In a brief blog post on the official Gylt website, Tequila Work announces that the 2019 Stadia launch title will be going multiplatform later next year. “Spooky season is around the corner… And we bring terrific news! We’ve been working on it for a long time and it’s finally time to make it official: Gylt is going multiplatform in 2023!” the statement reveals. As for other planned efforts for Stadia, multiple developers are investigating account migration for select games in time for the platform’s demise. Bungie, IO Interactive, and Ubisoft are a few reported to be working on a solution for this. It has yet to be confirmed if or how other developers will pursue this with less than a handful of months still remaining. Additionally, there is no word on other Staida exclusives going multiplatform just yet. For titles like Splash Damage’s online experience Outcasters, there has yet to be confirmation on the IP going to other systems. The team did state it is still considering possibilities in one tweet recently. You can read the full post by heading here. Are you excited Gylt is being translated for more platforms? Unusual Findings Pre-Orders Are Live Now Ahead of Launch Next Week.

The upcoming point and click adventure title Unusual Findings is available to pre-order now before its launch next week. The Epic LLama game is a throwback to nostalgic 1980’s memorabilia as three friends attempt to solve the truth behind an alien invasion. Help Vinny, Nick and Tony (classic 80’s names, I know) explore the town utilizing the classic “grab”, look” and “talk” action buttons. They try to solve the mystery behind a pay-per-view adult channel with their brand new cable signal descrambler, but unexpectedly they pick up the distress signal of an alien spaceship crash-landing in the woods near their town. Things only get weirder as they realize that the towering alien is killing specific members of their community! Some features of the game are as follows: Follow the Sci-fi coming-of-age story of three friends fighting together against the unknown… things (maybe against some known things too…). Utilise “see”, “grab” and “talk” action tokens, take advantage of an inventory to use and combine items in and your wits are all you need to play the game. Stylized Pixel art. All the charm of pixel art of the past with more colours, combined with the new visual effects of the future. Some pixels look so real they can almost jump out of the screen. Go back to a simpler time where mixtapes were a thing, the Commodore 64 was king, and kids could go play outside at night and the only main thing of concern was the giant KILLER ALIEN trying to get you and your friends. The decisions you make affect relationships between each of the characters and thus by extension the puzzles, game progression and story. Choose wisely. The most radical music a synthesiser can play. Cool and thematic synthwave music arranged into catchy tunes that are made exclusively for the game to power up the 80s vibes for full immersion. You can pre-order on Xbox and PlayStation here now. Also, be sure to stay tuned for our review and coverage on launch day October 12. Unusual Findings will release on Steam, Xbox, PS and Switch.

Stadia Developers Begin For Account Migration After The Platform’s Closure Being Announced

Although many mocked what Stadia was since its inception, the platform did grow quite a following in the years following. Google to some extent pioneered a mainstream video game streaming platform in aspects better than its competition. Noted, the service even handled monthly free games better in some months – October Stadia Pro featuring Arcade Paradise, Drawful 2, and Tangle Tower. However, the firm just this past week shared that Stadia will be no more come thing January. The announcement while inevitable to some degree came to be a surprise nonetheless. Thankfully, Google did confirm that the platform will be issuing refunds to those who invested into the platform so close to the shuttering of Stadia. Since then, there has been multiple developers working to migrate players to other platforms like PC and console in anticipation for Stadia’s new year demise in 2023. With that, Ubisoft, IO Interactive, and Bungie all confirmed it is investigating how it will pursue this moving forward. Noted, this effort is selective per game. When Google originally announced the closure for Stadia, it mentions that not all games can confirm progress being carried over for every game. “While that may be possible for some games that support cross-progression play on other platforms, unfortunately, for the majority of games, that won’t be possible,” the FAQ answer reads. As you might anticipate, most major live-service titles like Destiny 2 already features some form of cross-progression/cross-save with Stadia. But, this cannot be said for every title. As for other properties from other large publishers like Rockstar Games, it is up to the firm to decide ultimately if worth pursuing and cannot be guaranteed. What are you thoughts on developers pursuing account migration for Stadia users?

Firstly, the long-promised Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is set to arrive. Additionally, Sackboy: A Big Adventure just received its confirmation for PC which is also scheduled to launch later this month as well. In a recent interview with French tech YouTuber Julien Chièze, he speaks with PlayStations Studios head Hermen Hulst who reveals that PlayStation titles take roughly one year before being realized for a PC port. You can watch the segment of the interview in the video below: “Going forward we’ll see at least a year between releases on our own platform on PlayStation and on the PC platform – possibly with the exception of live service games,” Hulst explains. Live service games are a little bit different in nature because you want to have really strong communities, strong engagement right away when you go live so in the case of our live service offerings go day and date with PC and the PlayStation platform.” Exploring what direction Sony Interactive Entertainment is taking with its live-service approach, Bungie is at the forefront for this ambition. The firm explained this with the $3 billion acquisition still underway back in spring this year. The effort is also reiterated by Hulst in the interview with some of the partnered projects in the pipeline already. The PlayStation company aims for 10 releases by 2026 according to one statement made in February 2022.
