Mario Kart 7 receives an update in 2022
You read that correct. Mario Kart 7 has gotten an update after 10 years of being available on the Nintendo 3DS. Version 1.2 for the game is currently out now, but there wasn’t much details of what was actually updated. You can see the patch notes here. Here is what the notes say regarding today’s updates: “On December 13, 2022, a new software update for Mario Kart 7 became available for download. Please take a moment to download and install this update while your Nintendo Switch console is connected to the internet.” It’s probably obvious that there was a typo saying “Nintendo Switch” in the notes, but we know they are most likely talking about the 3DS. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen update is out now
CD PROJEKT RED announced the launch of the next-gen version for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition. The update is now available for the game on Xbox Series XlS, PlayStation 5, Steam, GOG and The Epic Games Store. The update comes as a free download for those who already owned the game. “The update includes real-time ray tracing for PC, Performance and Ray Tracing modes on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and Performance and Quality modes on Xbox Series S, support for DLSS on PC and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution across all next-gen platforms, faster loading times, and more. Furthermore, the next-gen version introduces content and quality of life additions: items and quest inspired by the The Witcher Netflix show, new camera options, quick Sign casting, Photo Mode, cross-platform progression, map and UI tweaks, a selection of community-created mods integrated into the experience — among many others. The Complete Edition also comes with all previously released content for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — the award-winning Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine expansions, as well as 16 pieces of extra content.” The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of The Witch 3: Wild Hunt also received an update. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection releases on April 14, 2023
Capcom announced today that the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will be releasing on April 14, 2023 with pre-orders live as well. This collection brings all ten mainline games to modern platforms with online versus, Battle Chip trading, and even Download Chips previously only available in Japan. Another important part to note about this is that all games in this collection will be available on cartridge/disc. In previous collections only some would be available physically and then you’d have to download the rest. Persona 3 Portable & Persona 4 Golden to be priced at 1,980 yen on Xbox Series XlS, PlayStation, & Nintendo Switch
Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden is prepared to release for Xbox Series XlS, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation on January 19, 2023. Although we knew the release date, we did not know the price until now. It was shown on Twitter that Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will both be priced at 1,980 Yen meaning it should be around $19.99 USD. The original tweets comes from @P_Kouhou which was followed by Gematsu suggesting it’d be around that price point in United States Dollars. Warzone receives it’s Rocket League inspired mode on December 14
Call of Duty is all in on soccer this year as they’ve recently added many players such as Lionel Messi to the game as operators in Warzone 2.0. That’s not the only soccer related thing that’s being introduced to the popular Battle Royale will be getting a Rocket League inspired mode, ‘Warzone Cup’ on December 14 at 10:00 AM PT. Players will compete against each other on ATV’s to score points. The rest of the mode is self explanatory. “Warzone Cup pits two teams of three Operators against each other at Al Easima Field, a modern sports stadium within the greater Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® II universe.” “Each Operator will drive an ATV as they attempt to knock a massive ball into the other team’s goal within an eight-minute time limit. After each goal, the ball and all Operators are reset to their starting positions to resume play. The first team to reach five goals, or the team that gets the most goals within eight minutes, wins the match.” The Warzone Cup is just a part of the Call of Duty midseason update which is known as Season 01 Reloaded. The update will also include Double XP bonus and Double Weapon XP which will be active for both Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. This content will be available from December 14 – 23. Grounded grew to 15 million players
Grounded had its full release on September 27 and the game already has grown to over 15 million players. Obsidians latest title is available on Xbox Series XlS, Windows 10/11 PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) and Steam. Obsidian also announced a special Grounded update for the holiday season. Titled A Holiday Treat, this latest update includes new quality of life gameplay features and content to help streamline the experience as you explore the backyard including additional player inventory space, the ability to ascend in addition to descend ZIP.R lines, and new base decorations including a holiday tree. Grounded has been around in Early Access for 2 years where it came out in July of 2020. The community has stuck around with the game all this time and it continues to grow into 2023. In February, Grounded broke the 10 million player milestone. It goes to show that even though a game is in its Early Access stage it can still be successful. High on Life has released, but what are people saying about it?
High on Life from Squanch Games and co-creator of Rick & Morty, Justin Roiland has released for Xbox Series XlS, Xbox Game Pass and PC. In case you didn’t know, but High on Life is a comedic sci-fi action-adventure Metroidvania first-person shooter game and an iconic part of this game is the talking guns. With the release of a brand new game that means there are reviews out in public for the game from fans and other outlets. It seems that the game has gotten mixed reviews on OpenCritic with 50% critics recommending and a 73 average score making it a Fair rating. Hogwarts Legacy For Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & Xbox One Has Been Delayed
One of the more high anticipated games of 2023 received some news regarding its release for certain platforms. Hogwarts Legacy will be delayed for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Hogwarts Legacy will launch on July 25, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch. While the release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will come April 4, 2023. This is a strange delay since it only relates to previous generation consoles and of course the Switch might be tricky to launch on. However, Hogwarts Legacy will be releasing as scheduled for Xbox Series XlS, PlayStation 5 and PC on February 10, 2023. The reason for this delay is to make sure players will have a great experience on those platforms. Hogwarts Legacy will launch on April 4, 2023 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on July 25, 2023 for Nintendo Switch. Cuphead The Delicious Last Course DLC has sold over 2 million copies
Cuphead has been a hit since it launched and the most recent DLC, The Delicious Last Course featuring Ms. Chalice has been successful. Studio MDHR announced that it has gone double platinum selling over 2 million copies worldwide across all platforms.
