The Game Awards 2022 is the most watched ever at 103 Million viewers

The Game Awards 2022 concluded over a week ago and the official viewership numbers came out. Geoff Keighley announced through Twitter that this years show was the most viewed with 103 million views. Apparently having the Steam Deck giveaway helped those numbers as over 10 million Steam customers entered the contes that was held during the show. Historical #TheGameAwards viewership numbers: 2022: 103 Million2021: 85 Million2020: 83 Million 2019: 45.2 Million 2018: 26.2 Million 2017: 11.5 Million 2016: 3.8 Million 2015: 2.3 Million2014: 1.9 Million Next year marks out 10th annual show. — Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) December 16, 2022 Compared to last years 85 million in viewership that is a big jump and it’s safe to say giveaways and hosting stuff to have viewers interact with The Game Awards from home helped. Thanks! Yeah; it went a little longer due to some speeches! The Steam Deck giveaway was also a huge boost, almost 10m Steam customers watched the show, so that was a big increase YoY. — Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) December 16, 2022 What also seemed to help the show was the fact it was slightly shorter than years past. The Game Awards 2023 will be the 10th annual show and it should be another good one.
