Persona 5: The Phantom X Announced For Android & iOS

For many Persona fans, the Atlus IP has evolved into a multiplatform franchise over the course of a few short months. Which originated as a three-game deal featured for Xbox Game Pass evolved into a worldwide release across Xbox, Nintendo Switch, as well as PlayStation 4. Not to But, that is only the start of what Atlus has planned for the series. Of course, new reports surfaced suggesting the Japanese developer is hard at work on the next installment – presumed to be titled ‘Persona 6’. Additionally, the same report also details effort on a major remake for Persona 3. While the game is available via Persona 3 Portable, many believe the version to be the most lacking since it was originally developed for the PlayStation Portable at the time. Now in a new surprise announcement, Perfect World Games & Black Wings Game Studio announced Persona 5: The Phantom X. What makes the new title even more unique is Atlus is not the main developer as the title is planned to ship for Android & iOS. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below: According to the translation offered by Gematsu, Persona 5: The Phantom X is to preserve much of the original gameplay of the original Persona 5 whilst establishing a new cast of Phantom Thieves characters within the familiar Tokyo city. Even more is the addition of a new talking owl character and the featured ‘long nose’ man in a ‘strange underwater room’. When exploring to the official website for Persona 5: The Phantom X, it is revealed that sign-ups for the new mobile game is available now. For users in China, a technical test is said to go live by March 29th later this month. Details remain fairly slim as for when the title will be playable for Japan users let alone fans in the West.
