Court documents reveal the PlayStation 5 Slim is releasing this year at $399.99 USD

The FTC vs Microsoft legal battle has been revealing information regarding its competitors future plans aside from what Xbox has in store. Recent court documents reveals that Sony might be releasing a PlayStation 5 Slim console later this year and this information comes out thanks to Microsoft. GameRant pointed out in the recent documents found that Sony has a PlayStation 5 Slim to launch in 2023 at a reduced price of $399.99 USD. That would be the same price as the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and it remains to be seen if this slim console would have a disc tray or not. It’s no surprise that Sony is planning to release a new version of the PlayStation 5. Almost a year ago it was reported that the company was planning to launch a PlayStation 5 that had a detachable disc drive. Filming For Mortal Kombat 2 Officially Kicks Off

While fans are split whether 2021’s Mortal Kombat is truly a new bringing to video game films or not, Warner Bros. sees the movie as a step in the right direction. In one statement from executives, it was shared that the property was one of its “top assets” despite the uncertainty of the series. The film went on to be the most viewed, opening-weekend picture on HBO Max that year. Additionally, there was other signs more films were to follow the first. In that, Sub Zero actor Joe Taslim already signed on to do multiple films portraying the character. Even more is the talent that was welcomed aboard to pen the story for the anticipated sequel. In that, Moon Knight writer Jeremy Slated would also draft the script for the next Mortal Kombat. Recently, new information surfaced online revealing that filming for Mortal Kombat II has begun. Liu Kang actor Ludi Lin via Instagram uploaded images from the set revealing that the cameras officially began shooting. Amongst the surviving cast returning, there is a slew of new additions coming along for Mortal Kombat II. From Deadline, Shao Kahn, Jerrod, Sindel, and Kabal are to all make an appearance in the follow-up. Elsewhere, producer Todd Garner corroborated on reports that Johnny Cage is to make his appearance for the series with Karl Urban to take the role. As for other Mortal Kombat news, the next entry in the series – Mortal Kombat 1 – is set to release this September. Limited Run Games Showcase ‘LRG3’ Gets July 12th Date

Already, the massive wave of gaming showcases & presentations took the internet by storm earlier in June last month. However, there are still more events to take place in the coming months if June was not enough for you. In that, QuakeCon officially opens its doors to the public once more with its in-person show in August. That same month, Gamescom is to also return with the Geoff Keighley-host Gamescom Opening Night Live too. Additionally, THQ Nordic is to host another annual ‘digital showcase’ in August to feature its fleet of games on the way. 2023 will surely be interesting if the firm decides to expand on the projects acquired from Square Enix last year. Previously, Nintendo shared in collaboration with Penny Arcade that Nintendo Live will host its first ever North American even during PAX West 2023 in September. Recently, Limited Run Games announced its annual ‘LRG3’ presentation will return once more to feature the next wave of physical releases the team plans to tackle. Of course, there is also room for other published releases that Limited Run Games curates to spice up the announcement show coming later this month. “LRG3 is set to broadcast on July 12th! Three-Part Animated Mini-Series ‘Overwatch: Genesis: Announced

Over the course of these past few years, live-service games while lacking a single-player campaign has proven to be flowing with imbedded lore and background storytelling just awaiting to be revealed. Properties such as League of Legends has proven this and expanded into transmedia with series like Arcane in the past to properly expand the universe into the mainstream. Additionally, many fans were hoping the same to come to other prominent franchises. In the past, it was suspected that Apex Legends could potentially find this same fate as the storyline is an extension of the already expansive Titanfall universe. Even more, Overwatch fans have anticipated similar treatment with the game’s inception in 2016 and even some job listings for animated series were discovered previously too. Well this week, Blizzard Entertainment revealed that a new prequel animated series ‘Overwatch: Genesis’ is happening. In fact, this new mini-series kicks off this Thursday with Part One: Dawn scheduled to air. You can watch the trailer in the video below: The new animated story arc for Overwatch comes at a surprise with fans eager to see how the story expands prior to the events of the game. But, the mini-series will only consist of three episodes with short runtimes. Episode 1 is to only be 5:13 mins. Scheduling reveals Part Two: Innocence airs on July 13th with a 6:34 mins runtime and Part Three: Rebirth arrives on July 20th with a runtime of 6:58 mins. “It was a technological golden age. Until it wasn’t,” the brief synopsis reads for the first part. It appears that Dawn will explore the beginning of the omnics revolt as humanity was close to reaching its near-utopia status. The following parts will continue this storytelling and expand on the events following and possibly give background for prominent characters before the first game. ATLUS Releases New Persona 3 Reload Gameplay Trailer & Character Details

During Anime Expo 2023, ATLUS showcased a new gameplay video and character details for Akihiko, Mitsuru, and Fuuka for upcoming remake, Persona 3 Reload. The new trailer and character assets were revealed during the ATLUS Presents: The Official Persona 3 Reload Panel at Anime Expo, which featured the new voice actors from the game, including Heather Gonzalez (Yukari Takeba), Alejandro Saab (Akihiko Sanada), Suzie Yeung (Fuuka Yamagishi), Zeno Robinson (Junpei Iori), Aleks Le (Protagonist) and Allegra Clark (Mitsuru Kirijo).
