Payday 3 Developer Confirms Online Connection Required To Play

For years, fans have awaited a new entry in the Payday series. Although Payday 2 shipped back in 2013, Starbreeze Studios continued to pump out more add-ons for the game to preserve the experience years down the line. However, the company behind the series was in part of a fallout and needed to restructure before pursuing the next entry. Previously, Starbreeze Studios confirmed the game is prepared to launch this year later on in 2023. And by June at the Xbox Games Showcase, Payday 3 was announced for a September release date come this autumn. Even more, the game is prepared to launch day & date for Xbox Game Pass users as well. However, new information has surfaced on the game. In that, Payday 3 will require an online connection to play the game. During a livestream with global brand director Almir Listo, it is revealed that playing by yourself will still ask you stay connected to the servers. You can watch the segment in the video below: “You will be able to play by yourself. But I do believe you will have to have a connection in order to play,” Listo answers one fan. He continued by explaining that Payday 3 is using “Unreal Engine and cross-progression” making it a necessity for Payday 3 to ask for being connected. This is not the first AAA game to also do the same as Forza Motorsport is also shipping this October with the same requirement. Even more, Redfall is still plagued with this issue. It is the first game to embrace online play from Arkane Studios and is required for all players. But, the developer did clarify that it intends to undo this plan sometime in the post-launch for the game. You can read the full report by heading here. What is your thoughts on this decision? Payday 3 ships later on September 21, 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Ubisoft Confirms No Post-Launch DLC Plans For Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Under the recent guise of the Assassin’s Creed series, the next mainline entry is Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Earlier in May, Ubisoft confirmed the game is prepared to launch later this October. Part of the appeal for the new game is how barebones it plays bringing many elements of the original 2007 release back to fruition in the newest entry. Hence why the game is treated so differently even without Ubisoft Montreal as the main developer this time around. Looking ahead, it was already confirmed that Assassin’s Creed is to churn out a large turnout for the IP as hirings has bolstered at Ubisoft for the next year. Additionally, reports tell more games are on the horizon. Outside of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, there is the Meta Quest exclusive Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR scheduled to launch this holiday too. Amid the conversation & wait for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, creative director Stéphane Boudon has confirmed more internal plans on behalf of the team. The biggest reveal shares that there is no DLC planned for Assassin’s Creed Mirage. “For now, Mirage has no plan for DLC or extensive post-launch,” he writes. Note how Boudon does inject “for now” into his statement: the original intention is to not roll out more content for the game after release. But there is the off chance that Ubisoft could greenlit some form of content to be added depending on how successful the game is then. But for now, take it as fact there is no intentions to add more to the base game. Elsewhere recently, Ubisoft has also pressed on another Assassin’s Creed game on the horizon. While no confirmation on when it is coming, Ubisoft during its June ‘Forward’ presentation announced a closed beta for Codename Jade is live for users to sign-up. You can read the full report by heading here. What is your take on no DLC planned for Assassin’s Creed Mirage?
