UFC 5 Revealed – Releases October 27, 2023
EA Sports officially announced the next entry in the UFC video game series with UFC 5 coming to consoles on October 27, 2023. Developed on the Frostbite Engine for the first time, and featuring the all-new Real Impact System, UFC 5 is the definitive MMA experience. UFC President, Dana White claims UFC 5 is the most realistic MMA experience. “UFC 5 is the most realistic MMA experience fans can have outside of the Octagon,” said UFC President Dana White. “This game is incredible and truly a next-generation UFC experience.” Here are some of the features of UFC 5: ● Cinematic K.O. Replay: Cinematic K.O. replays showcase fight-ending finishes with intensified visuals and enhanced excitement. Presented in super slow motion with cinematic angles and lighting, the impact of fight-ending shots represents highlight reel moments recapturing the drama of a UFC fight. ● Doctor’s Checks and Stoppages: Suffering a notable injury prompts the referee to pause the fight for a ringside doctor’s inspection. Failure to adapt and protect the injury from further damage can lead to a doctor’s stoppage, which introduces true-to-sport strategic variables for players to navigate under heightened pressure. ● New Strikes and Hit Reactions: New Strike animations emulate heavy hitters, professional kickboxers and more – coupled with new motion variations for ground and pound elbows, spinning attacks, body punches and calf kicks. Plus, the Hit Reaction animations and physics during a frenetic fight can initiate clean connection impacts – moments players can feel with next-level immersion during gameplay. ● Seamless Submissions: Revamped Seamless Submissions extend the existing grappling system with faster animation transitions and the removal of mini games. Grapple Assist aids beginners, while veterans can explore deeper layers. Seamless submissions provide a smoother, authentic ground game for grappling enthusiasts. ● Fight Week and Alter Egos: UFC 5’s launch includes a revamped live service with features like Fight Week and Fight Picks tied to real-world UFC events. If you pre-order the Deluxe Edition you’ll receive legends Fedor Emelianenko, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and more content. It was leaked ahead of time that UFC 5 would have the announced cover athletes and that the game would have an Online Career Mode. EA Sports UFC 5 will not be available on PC or Nintendo Switch. It will only be released on Xbox Series XlS and PlayStation 5 in October. This wouldn’t be the first time an EA Sports game is excluded from PC as NHL 24 will skip another year. Starfield surpassed 6 million players
Bethesda Game Studios recently released Starfield for Xbox Series XlS, Xbox Game Pass, and PC across the world on September 6th while its Early Access started September 1st. Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer shared that over 1 million concurrent players were on Starfield during its launch day and it looks like the game has a new accomplishment in its second full day. Starfield has surpassed over 6 million players since September 1st across Xbox Series XlS and PC. This makes it the biggest Bethesda game launch of all time and there’s no doubt the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass helped the cause. Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis Launches Today
This past year remains a fairly occupied year for Final Fantasy players. Already, Square Enix rolled out Final Fantasy: Crisis Core – Reunion in December 2022. Not to mention the most recent Final Fantasy XVI. From our review we wrote: “Whether you are a longtime fan of the series or a newcomer to the world of Final Fantasy, this game is an absolute must-play.” Additionally, Square Enix confirmed Final Fantasy XIV Online is officially coming to Xbox. Even more is Square Enix CEO Takashi Kiryu sharing a new campaign to roll out its games to the platform is underway. As for current titles enroute to launch, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is officially here after being announced back in February 2021. The new title arrives as a mobile exclusive launching on both Google Play Store & App Store. PAX Organizer ReedPop Drops E3 As The Annual Event Exits Los Angeles Starting Next Year
For many that follows the trend of the gaming industry, one of the market’s largest events has continued to face an unfortunate fallout. In that, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) essentially since the 2020 pandemic has faced uncertainty in remaining with the new wave of digital format presentations taking the forefront for announcements & reveals. Even Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley chimes in on this descent for E3. Previously, Keighley was a major component for the E3 machine with the annual E3 Coliseum show that took place throughout the event. But after his departure and curating Summer Game Fest, it became more evident that the show many once knew is evaporating. Already, it was confirmed that 2023’s show wouldn’t be present. And it was not long before both 2024 and 2025 were also canceled as well. In a new statement from PAX, Comic-Con organizer ReedPop that overlooked E3, the firm is to drop E3 entirely. Although not gone forever, the show is to be organized under new leadership as the Los Angeles Convention Center will not see another E3 show. We appreciate ReedPop’s partnership over the past 14 months and support their ongoing efforts to bring industry and fans together through their various events. While the reach of E3 remains unmatched in our industry, we are continuing to explore how we can evolve it to best serve the video game industry and are evaluating every aspect of the event, from format to location. We are committed to our role as a convenor for the industry and look forward to sharing news about E3 in the coming months. PAYDAY 3 is gaining two new heist members
Starbreeze Studios and Deep Silver announced more content is on the way for PAYDAY 3 starting with a Post-Launch Roadmap for Year 1. Along with that, they shared that two new heist members, Pearl and Joy are joining Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf, and Chains making it a total of six characters for you to choose from. Here are more details about Pearl and Joy: PEARL Pearl is an expert con artist and infiltrator who is as comfortable running scams on the street as she is rubbing elbows with the rich and famous. She leaves nothing to chance, and it’s a rare occasion when things don’t go her way. Make no mistake though, she plans for every contingency, even the rare occasions where she has to pull out her own weapons. JOY Joy is a genius hacker and security expert who is now an official part of the crew. As a merciless heister, Joy is a dangerous combination of strength and subterfuge. With no respect for the law and a twisted sense of humor, Joy is a wildcard character who ends up being an ace during any heist. Pearl and Joy join PAYDAY 3 on September 21, 2023, for PC via PC Game Pass, on Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series S|X Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and GeForce Now.
PAYDAY 3 Post-Launch Roadmap Revealed
Starbreeze Studios and Deep Silver are prepared to release their co-op heist shooter on September 21, 2023, and have revealed more content is on the way for the game. It was announced that PAYDAY 3 is welcoming two characters playable at launch, Pearl and Joy. Along with that announcement, the post-launch roadmap was also revealed preparing players for what’s to come over the next year. Here are the following Four DLC Packs expected to be released for PAYDAY 3: Year 1 – The Bad Apple DLC 1 – Syntax Error set for Winter 2023 DLC 2 – Boys in Blue is set to release in Spring 2024 DLC 3 – The Land of the Free will release in Summer 2024 DLC 4 – Fear and Greed set for Fall 2024 Starbreeze Studios mentioned the Names and Dates of these DLC Packs are subject to change. It’s safe to say players will have a lot of content to dive through in PAYDAY 3. PAYDAY 3 comes to PC via PC Game Pass, on Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series S|X Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and GeForce Now. The Open Beta begins September 8 all the way through September 11.
Charlies Martinet and Shigeru Miyamoto share video message about voice acting change
In late August it was announced that Charles Martinet would be stepping down from doing the voice of Mario, Luigi, Waluigi, and Wario. During that time it was said that a video message featuring Shigeru Miyamoto and Charles would come out and today, Nintendo finally shared it. During the video message, Charles mentioned he is becoming a Mario Ambassador and will travel around the world sharing the joy of Mario with fans. Miyamoto talked about the early days of getting to know Charles when he first voiced Mario for Super Mario 64 in 1996.
